Dvelopment of assessment manual for Environmentally friendly Control of Waste in the Army (군 발생 폐기물의 친환경적 관리를 위한 평가 매뉴얼 구축방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop checklist and manual in order to control and manage military construction project in an environmentally friendly way during each stage in construction. The main contents of the study are as follows. 1) Checklists and manual are developed for reviewing the construction project in advance to meet environment codes and regulations during each stage of project. 2) Critical check points of environment management program focused on waste are identified. 3) A new construction paradigm in harmony with sound environment is established through the application of program for proactive waste control. The study also recommends that, as a future research, the development of a web-based manual be developed for more easy applications in general construction project.

A Study on Sustainable Outdoor Design Strategies and Assessment System through Analysis of SITES Certified Projects (미국 외부공간 친환경 인증(SITES) 사례분석을 통한 친환경 조성기법 및 평가체계 연구)

  • While many assessment systems for buildings and indoor environment have been created with increasing interest in sustainable development, assessments for sustainable landscaping and outdoor environments have received less attention. Recently, the Sustainable Site Initiatives(SITES) was developed in the USA in order to evaluate and certify sustainable landscape design projects. The purposes of this study are to analyze sustainable landscape strategies and to review the certification system through case studies of SITES certified projects. Three certified projects in Texas were selected and literature review, site visits and interview were conducted. The results indicated that various sustainable and practical strategies were applied including soil preservation, use of native plants and recycled materials, and water harvesting. Also, SITES has benefits to encourage an integrated design process, community participation, and environmental education for the public. This suggests that a certification system for landscaping and outdoor environments needs to be developed to ensure sustainable site development, which helps extend the roles of the landscape architecture profession in sustainable design.

  • 본 논문은 일반적으로 쓰이고 있는 PC 케이스 내부에서 발생하고 있는 소음 요소를 분석한 후 내부적 시스템 변화가 아닌 외형적인 변화를 통하여 PC 케이스 내부에서 발생하는 소음을 저감하는 효율성을 제공하고 더 나아가 친환경적인 디자인을 통한 업무 효율성을 높일 수 있기에 일반적 케이스 모델인 직육면체의 PC 케이스에서 팔면체의 PC 케이스를 제안하였고 그에 따른 실험적 결과를 토대로 새롭게 제안한 PC 케이스가 일반적 PC 케이스에 비해 높은 차음 효과가 있음을 제시하였다.

Environment-friendly Processing Technologies of Mine Tailings: Research on the Characteristics of Mine Tailings when Developing of Deep Sea Mineral Resources (선광잔류물의 친환경적 처리 기술: 심해저광물자원개발시 발생하는 선광잔류물 특성 연구)

  • Mine tailings, which are inevitably formed by the development of manganese nodules, manganese crusts, and hydrothermal seafloor deposits, have attracted attention because of their quantity and potential toxicity. However, there is a lack of data on the quantity of mine tailings being generated, their physicochemical properties, and their effects as environmental hazards and on marine ecosystems in general. The importance of treating mine tailings in an environmentally friendly manner has been recognized recently and related reduction/treatment methods are being considered. In the case of deep-sea mineral resource development, if mine tailings cannot be treated aboard a ship, the issue becomes one of the cost of transporting them to land and solving the problem of environmental pollution there. Therefore, the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology conducted research on the harmfulness of mine tailings, their effect on marine ecosystem, the diffusion model of contaminated particles, and candidate purification treatment technologies based on five representative controlling factors: 1) effects of pollution /on the environment, 2) effects of environmental/ biological hazards, 3) diffusion of particles, 4) mineral dressings, and 5) reducing/processing mine tailings. The results of this study can provide a basis for minimizing environmental problems by providing scientific evidences of the environmental effects of mine tailings. In addition, it is also expected that these results could be applied to the treatment of pollutants of different origins and at land-based mining waste sites.

Effects of the LOHAS Image of Restaurants on Involvement and Willingness to Pay (레스토랑의 로하스 이미지가 관여도 및 지불의사에 미치는 영향)

  • With the changing consciousness of consumers, there has been an increasing interest in nature-friendly lifestyles and safety of food ingredients. Therefore, the LOHAS image, which has value in social health and sustainability, is expected to be a factor that helps restaurants establish differentiation strategies. This study examined the LOHAS image of restaurants on involvement and willingness to pay. The results were as follows. First, eco-friendly food ingredients and interiors among the LOHAS image factors of restaurants had a significant effect on involvement. Second, the perception of LOHAS in the LOHAS image factors of restaurants had a significant effect on involvement. These results may be due to the lack of a conceptual understanding of LOHAS among restaurant customers, who fail to properly grasp its meaning. Therefore, in order to promote the LOHAS image of restaurants to customers, it is necessary to consider presenting POPs or signs that will enable customers to understand the concept of LOHAS inside the restaurant. Third, consumers' involvement turned out to have a significant effect on their willingness to pay. Thus, it is necessary to imprint the image of a LOHAS restaurant using eco-friendly colors, sculptures, and agricultural products so that customers can perceive food ingredients or interior elements as eco-friendly.

  • 최근 전 세계적 이상기후로 인한 가뭄 또는 집중호우에 따른 하천의 건천화 및 홍수범람은 국가의 인명 및 재산에 상당한 피해를 야기 시키고 있으며 이로 인한 하천환경의 급격한 변화는 생태파괴의 주된 원인이 되고 있다. 따라서 제방의 안정성을 확보하며 유로를 제어할 뿐만 아니라 퇴적 및 세굴 등에 의한 하상고의 변화를 최적화할 수 있는 기법이 요구되는 실정이다. 이와 같은 제방과 하도의 안정성 확보를 위한 구조적 대책으로 수제가 많이 알려져 있으나 국내에서는 제한적인 연구와 극히 소수의 수제설치가 시도되었을 뿐 실용화를 위한 요소기술 개발이 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 국내외의 수제 실내실험 및 설치사례조사를 통하여 각 국의 친환경적 하천관리 방안에 관한 수제설치 형태 및 기법을 검토하였다. 본 연구에서는 국내의 연구 및 설치사례조사는 물론 유럽, 미주 및 아시아의 수제 실내실험 및 설치사례조사와 수제설치에 따른 수리학적 변화양상 및 설계가이드라인에 관한 자료를 검토하였다. 사례분석을 통해 축적된 자료를 통하여 수제 설치에 따른 개선효과 및 수제의 형태·기법에 따른 수리학적 영향을 검토하였으며 향후 국내 하천별 특성에 적합한 수제형태를 검토하였다. 이상의 검토과정을 통해 수제의 지배 인자를 도출함으로써 각 인자의 영향을 정량화 할 수 있는 지속가능한 수제설계 요소기술 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다.

  • The awareness of ecological friendliness has been emerging in the recent years, and the application to housing is quite notable. The purpose of this study is to evaluate environment-friendly planning factor in Environment-friendly Housing Certification. For this purpose, this study has analyzed 5 multi-family housing in Environment-friendly Housing Certification. The findings of this study are as follows: The application of environment-friendly planning factor in interior space are limited. Most of plans are located in south. The variability of floor plan is not applied but the built-in storage is well-applied. Environment-friendly finishing material and the garden-style balconies was applied in a passive way. This analysis showed current status of planning factor of unit apartment in Environment-friendly Housing Certification and proved basic information for future direction.

The effect of eco-friendly management activities of a cosmetic company on customers' decision making (미용기업의 친환경 경영활동이 소비자 의사결정에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research lies in analyzing the corelation between the eco-friendly management activities of a cosmetic company and customers' decision making in terms of purchase. In this research, 355 copies of questionaire from general customers were analyzed using the statistic package program of SPSS v.18.0. Based on the research analysis, the attributes of eco-friendly management activities can be categorized into three factors such as 'energy saving', 'contribution to communities', and 'environment-oriented services' and have the statistically meaningful positive influence on the three factors of customers' decision making; 'purchasing intention', 'assessment of purchase', and 'repurchase'. This research shows that the eco-friendly management activities of a cosmetic company is an important factor for its successful marketing strategy. This research has a significance in that it has studied the eco-friendly management activities of a cosmetic company through stereotyping. We can expect successful marketing effect if a cosmetic company uses eco-friendly products, information, and services in its eco-friendly marketing.

  • 이동의 편리함과 주행안정성을 주기 위해 개발된 도로가 소음을 발생시켜 운전자 및 소비자의 쾌적성을 저해하는 요소로 작용하고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 연도거리확보 또는 방음벽 등의 소음억제 방법을 사용하고 있으나 미관을 저해하고 용지사용이 비효율적이어서 외국의 경우 저소음 포장 연구를 통한 근본적은 소음 발생원을 차단하기 위한 노력이 진행되고 있다. 국내에서도 신도시 개발 등으로 도로건설에 따른 급속한 교통량 증가 및 차량의 고속주행으로 인하여 도시소음의 주요인으로 부각되고 있고 시민들의 높은 생활수준과 소음 환경에 대한 기본생활권 추구 성향이 증대되어 지역 주민의 교통소음 저감 대책 및 보상에 대한 법적 소송이 빈번히 발생하고 있어 차량 주행 소음 저감을 위한 방법으로 방음벽 설치가 널리 사용되고 있으나 이는 경제적 손실뿐만 아니라 도시미관을 해치는 문제가 발생하고 있다. 도로사업의 환경성 강화는 국토해양부의 2009년 주요도로정책 중 하나일 정도로 국가정책의 중요한 지침으로써, 향후 추진되는 신도시 및 단지조성공사 시 도로 환경성과 소음, 진동, 그리고 생태통로에 대한 친환경 도로설계 및 시공 등에 적절히 대응하기 위하여 교통소음을 개선하기 위해서는 교통소음 발생 요소를 파악하고 신도시 및 단지조성시 주변도로에 친환경적 포장공법 설계기술의 개발 및 적용을 위한 단계적 연구가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 친환경 저소음 포장공법의 종류에 대하여 알아보고자 한다.

Analysis of Environment-friendly features in the unit of Environment-friendly Certificated Apartment (친환경인증아파트 단위주거의 친환경적 계획요소 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate environment-friendly planning feature in Environment-friendly Certificated apartments and to use the basic planning data of housing. Seven Environment-friendly Certificated apartments have been analyzed. The findings of this study are as follows: Environment-friendly planning features are categorized into 4 items; floor planning feature, material planning feature, universal planning feature and environmental planning feature. Among floor planning features, natural sunlight, built-in closets, and differentiated floor plans are well considered, but the flexible floor plan for resident's lifestyle and green space are lack. Among material planning features, environment-friendly finishing materials, environment-friendly products and energy-efficient double-pane windows are well considered, but implementation for resource savings using recycled materials are lack. Among universal design planning features, removal of threshold and installation of safety device in bathroom are not well considered. Among environmental planning features, usage of alternative energy like solar energy are not applied. The environment-friendly planning features in interior space should be introduced in diverse ways.
