Synthesis and Chnracterization of Organophilic Montmorillonites Modified with Alkyl Siloxane Amino 01igomers (알킬실록산 아민 올리고머 구조를 함유한 친유성 몬모릴로나이트의 제조 및 특성평가)

  • A series of organophilic montmorillonites (MMTs) modified with various alkyl siloxane amino oligomer groups have been synthesized and their properties were investigated. New organophilic MMTs containing siloxane amino oligomers with alkyl group instead of conventional alkyl amines were synthesized to improve thermal stability as well as gallery spacing. The organophilic MMTs were synthesized from MMT by utilizing the siloxane amino oligomers with various alkyl groups in the water/dioxane solution, which was performed without aq. HCl. Thermal decomposition temperature, gallery spacing, and hydrophobicity of synthesized organophilic MMTs were investigated. X-ray diffraction and TEM experiment results on new organophilic MMTs demonstrated that introduction of siloxane amine oligomers increased d-spacing between silicate layers. The decomposition temperatures of new organophilic MMTs measured by TGA was remarkably improved above 200℃ as compared with those of conventional alkyl substituted organophilic MMTs.

  • It has been known that the intercalation of long alkyl chains in montmorillonites (MMT) increased the hydrophobicity as well as gallery spacing of UT, which has influenced on the exfoliation behavior of various polymers. A series of organophilic MMTs were synthesized from the water/isopropyl alcohol solution of MMT with ammonium salts of various alkyl amines. The properties of obtained MMTs such as thermal decomposition temperature, gallery spacing as well as hydrophobic property were investigated. The X-ray diffraction experiments on organophilic montmorillonite demonstrated that the increase of length of alkyl substituent resulted in increase in the spacing between silicate layers, which was ranged from 13.1 to 29.4 $\AA$. On the other hand, introduction of (di-, tri-) alkyl substituents in ammonium salts decreased water absorption of organophiplic montmorillonite to 2.7%.

  • 고분산성을 이루는 물질들이 석영(quartz)을 바탕물질로 하여 기계-화학적 반응 기술을 이용하여 제작하였다. 반응의 처리 조건과 이후의 응용에 따라서 기계-화학적 반응을 이용하여 제작한 물질은 자기 특성, 유전체 특성, 전기적 특성을 동시에 나타냈다. 부착성 복합물질의 특징을 고려하여 세그네토 마그네틱스(Segneto-magnetics)로 분류 제작된 자기-전기적 분말은 유전체재료 특성을 나타냈다. 특히, 석영 표면에 하나 또는 그 이상의 이질 화합물 층이 10∼50nm 두께로 합성되어, 자기ㆍ전기적 특성을 나타냈다.

Synthesis of Pd-decorated SiO2 layers with superhydrophobic and oleophilic micro-nano hierarchical (초소수성 및 친유성을 갖는 마이크로-나노 계층구조의 Pd 금속입자 기능화된 SiO2층 합성)

  • 본 연구에서는 $SiO_2$ 미세구조 상에 Pd 나노입자(NPs)를 증착하여, 불소화된 마이크로-나노 계층구조를 갖는 Pd-decorated $SiO_2$($Pd/SiO_2$)를 제작하였다. 마이크로 크기의 거칠기를 갖는 $SiO_2$ 층은 졸-겔 공정을 사용해서 제조된 용액을 전기분사함으로써 제조되었다. 이어서, 자외선(UV)을 이용한 광 환원법을 이용해 Pd 나노입자를 $SiO_2$ 층에 형성했다. 생성된 표면은 마이크로-나노의 계층구조 형태를 보여주었다. 해당 시편의 불소화 처리 후, 마이크로-나노의 계층구조 표면은 $170^{\circ}$ 이상의 물 접촉각(water contact angle; WCA) 및 $5^{\circ}$ 이하의 슬라이딩 각(sliding angle)을 보여줌으로써 물에 대해 탁월한 소수성을 나타내었다. 또한, 커피($CA=161^{\circ}$), 우유($CA=162^{\circ}$), 쥬스($CA=163^{\circ}$), 그리고 글리세롤($CA=165^{\circ}$)에 대해서도 우수한 소수 특성을 보여주었다. 또한, 이들 $Pd/SiO_2$ 층은 우수한 장기내구성 및 자외선 저항성을 보여주었다. 그리고 이어진 기름에 대한 접촉각 측정을 통해 해당 시편이 소유 특성이 아닌 친유 특성을 보여준다는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 기름에 대한 CA는 약 ${\sim}10^{\circ}$로 매우 우수한 친유 특성을 나타내었다. 이와 같은 결과는 자체세정이 가능한 표면 및 지능형 물/기름 분리 시스템과 같은 스마트 장치에서 초소수성-친유성 특성을 갖는 계층구조의 $Pd/SiO_2$ 층을 사용할 가능성을 명확하게 보여준다고 판단된다.

  • In this work, we have prepared organophilic MMT having thermal stability by ion exchange reaction of various aromatic ammonium salts with MMT containing sodium ion. The organic modifiers having alkyl side chains and amine functional group were successfully synthesized by effectively introducing the surfaces of MMT via ion exchange reaction to form organophilic MMTs with a view to improve the reactivity and thermal stability. The WAXD patterns of organophilic MMT showed the more increased gallery spacing by $3.3{\AA}$ than that of the pristine MMT and also the onset of initial decomposition of organophilic MMT was $275^{\circ}C$ as determined by a thermogravimetric analysis. The polyimide (PI) nanocomposite films based on poly(amic acid) and organophilic MMT were prepared by a solution blending followed by cyclodehydration reaction. We have investigated the dispersity of organophilic MMTs in PI matrix by using WAXD and the effect of the organophilic MMT content on the mechanical properties of PI nanocomposite films was studied.

  • 계면활성제는 모터오일, 제약, 비누, 세제 등의 용도가 다양한 화학 제품 중 하나이다. 계면활성제는 비극성의 긴 탄화수소 체인으로 이루어진 꼬리(tail)부분과 보통은 이온으로 이루어진 극성을 띄는 머리(head)부분으로 구성되어있다. 보통 계면활성제를 나타낼 때는 fig. 1의 성냥개비와 같은 모형으로 표시하는 경우가 많다. 머리부분이 친수기를 나타내고, 꼬리부분이 친유기를 나타낸다.   • This study examines the effects of cell size and structure on the oil adsorption by polyurethane (PU) foam. A series of oil-adsorptive PU foam has been prepared, using various molecular weight of polyether polyol (GP-1000, GP-3000, GP-4000, GP-5000), together with TDI-80, water and additives. It was found that the cell size of PU foam decreased with increasing the agitation speed and surfactant content. Oil-adsotption of PU foam increased over 2000% with the increase of molecular weight of polyol and with the decrease of cell size. Increase in the surfactant content and the viscosity of adsorbed oil also give a remarkable decrease in oil adsorption.

  • In the w/o concentrated emulsion, the volume fraction of the dispersed is greater than 0.74 and the hydrophilic liquid is dispersed in the hydrophobic liquid of the continuous phase. The emulsion has the same appearance and behaviour as a gel. The polarity of the hydrophilic liquids and hydrophobic liquids, the pH and the ionic strength of the hydrophilic liquid are found to be important factors in the stability at the polymerization temperature such as $50^{\circ}C$. The lower the polarity of the hydrophobic liquid and the higher the polarity of the hydrophilic liquid, the more stable the emulsion. Electron microscopy studies of the hydrophilic-hydrophobic polymer composites show that the particles of polyacrylamide, the dispersed phase, are separated by he network of the thin film of polystyrene, the continuous phase. This hydrophilic-hydrophobic polymer composites show higher permselectivity to water in the mixture of water-ethanol. The pervaporation experiment shows that the selectivity of the membrane ranges between 4-40 and increases with increasing enthanol concentration in the feed. The rate of permeation decreases with increasing ethanol concentration in the feed.

  • 본 연구에서는 유기인 유도체 중 생리활성이 커서 독성이 있는 화합물의 구조를 분석하였다. 5-[(b-monoaza-15-crown-5)ethyloxy]-2iodosbenzoic acid의 IBA 촉매를 합성하여 그 반응성을 p-nitrophenyldiphenylphosphate (PNPDPP)와 Isopropyl methylphosphonofluoridate (Sarin GB), Pinacolyl methylphosphonofluoridate (Soman, GD)를 기질로 하여 연구하였다. PNPDPP 가수분해 반응에서는 긴 알킬작용기로 친유성을 증가시킨 촉매가 더 상전이 촉매로 작용함이 확인되었다.(t1/2 = 5 sec, pH = 8.07)
