A phylogenetic amino acid substitution matrix from Kogs database (Kogs데이타베이스로부터 얻은 계통학적인 아미노산 치환행렬)

  • Methods for making scoring matrix based on phylogenetic tree for all possible exchanges of one amino acid with another. PFMT(Phylogenetic focused Mutation Tendency) matrix is different BLOSUM62 and PAM160 which are the most used scoring matrixes. This matrix calculates possibility of substitution from common ancestor to high spices. PFMT matrix scores substitution frequency in COGs databases which contain 152 KOGs's dataset. PFMT matrix usefully is able to compare between query sequence and sequences of more higher species and show detailed substitution relation of 20 amino acids.

  • It's important to study about suitable substitutional material of expensive silica fume because it used widely for silica fume as a high-strength mortar binding agent. The main purpose of this study is to check which is the most efficient binder for the expensive silica fume's alternative material. And this study also present basic data about to make high-strength mortar when we use alternative material instead of silica fume through research outcome. Also writers analzed flow properties respectively, so it was founded out the substitutional goods fare like meta-kaolin, HMBA which are less expensive than silica fume because they are in domestic enough.

  • 제일원리 전자구조 계산을 통하여 현재 활발하게 연구가 진행되고 있는 MoS2 layer에 다양한 전이금속 물질을 치환하여 수소 흡착에너지를 구해보고, 수소 발생 촉매로서 적합한 구조를 구해 보았다. 또한 계산된 density of state의 형태를 분석하여 수소발생반응의 가능성을 알아보았다. 계산 결과, MoS2 layer의 경우 ground states에서 약 2.53eV의 흡착에너지를 가졌고, Ge과 Ir을 치환한 구조에 경우에 대해서는 각각 0.02eV와 -0.12eV로 계산되었다.

A Fundamental Properties of the Concrete Using Coarse Particle Cement and Mineral Admixture (굵은입자 시멘트와 광물질 혼화재를 조합 사용하는 콘크리트의 기초적 특성)

  • This research intends to analyze the basic characteristics of cements(hereinafter "CC") with affordable price and particle distribution effective as hydration heat face which are discharged at the outlet of smashing process of ordinary portland cement(hereinafter "OPC") manufacturing process such as fluidity, rigidity, temporary insulation temperature increase amount etc to review the potential of developing "CC" to 3 ingredients low heat cement that substitutes fly ash and blast furnace slag(hereinafter "BS"). As a result of experiment, fluidity tended to decrease with increase in CC substitution rate, and increase with increase in FA+BS substitution rate. Air amount tended to slightly decrease with increase in CC substitution rate, and decrease with increase in FA+BS substitution rate. Condensation characteristics were such that condensation time was delayed with increase in CC and FA+BS substitution rate. As for the temperature rising amount by temporary insulation, peak temperature decreased with increase in CC substitution rate and increase in FA+BS substitution rate in general, and thereafter, temperature tended to decrease slowly. Compressive strength decreased with increase in CC and FA+BS substitution rate, and as aging goes on, long term strength was equivalent to plain or higher. By and large, when FA+BS was substituted to CC, fluidity and air amount tended to decrease, but hydration heat face showed good reduction effects, suggesting possibility of development to 3 ingredients low heat cement.

Comparative Studies on the Developmental Capacity by Interspecific Nuclear Transplantation (이종간의 핵치환에 의한 발생수행능력의 비교 연구)

  • In order to investigate the role of nuclei and cytoplasm in early embryogenesis, interspecific nuclear transplantation was carried out Nuclei of one species of amphibian was transplanted into enucleated egg of another species. In interspecific hybrids between Rana species, development was arrested before or right after the dorsal lip formation. In intergenetic hybrids between Rana, Xenopus and axolod, developmental arrest took place at late blastula stage. Comparing the developmental capacity of each nudeocytoplasmic hybrid, the more distantly related the species, the earlier does development arrest. The general rule is that nuclear transfers between any amphibian species will form a regulary cleaved late blastula. Two plausible factors relate to limitation of tite developmental capacity of nudeocytaplasmic hybrids. One is an irreversible change in grafted nuclei and another is tunctional incompatibility between the recipient cytoplasm and transplanted nucleus. The later is postulated a more possible cause of the arrestrnent.

  • A biotite that substantially altered to chlorite and vermiculite in hornblende gneiss from Cheonyang, Korea, has been investigated with electron microprobe analysis. The data show the general variational trends of Ti and K-leaching with increased weathering. However, the chloritization is characterized by Si- conservative reaction and relatively dramatic increase of Al-for-(Fe+Mg) octahedral substitution, whereas the vermiculitization is characterized by total Mg-conservative and Ca-enriching exchange reaction. In the initiating stage the vermiculitization proceeded in a continuous decrease of the Al-for-Si tetrahedral substitution and an increase of the Al-for-(Fe+Mg) octahedral substitution, supporting the currently accepted weathering process. But it differs in the late stage, in which AI(IV) and Fe increase significantly. Recalculations of the structural formular for vermiculite on the basis of several assumptions indicate that the oxidation of Fe is necessary for vermiculite to form the reasonable strutural formular. The relative timing of the oxidation of Fe probably occurs in the late stage, supported by the substantial increase of the Al-for-Si tetrahedral substitution.

  • This paper is an experimental study of the chemical resistance of mortar which contains silica sand particles. The possible use of silica sand particles in the future as an admixture for improving chemical resistance of mortar is examined in mortar model experiments. The possibility of using mortar model its prediction models for the chemical resistance of concrete is examined. The results obtained are as follows. Since the experimental results from the chemical resistance tests based on the kinds and the amount of replaced admixture are similar to those from the concrete. mortar model could be used as a prediction model of chemical resistance of concrete.

  • The main purpose of this research was to enhance the durability in both the design and construction of dams. Especially, in case of rockfill dams, the durability of face slab concrete in a concrete-faced rockfill dam(CFRD) is achieved by optimizing the fly ash replacement for cement and application of blended fiber. The effect on durability and thermal property corresponding to the increasing replacement of fly ash and application of blended fiber was evaluated, and the optimum value of fly ash replacement and blended fiber application was recommended. The results show that 15% of fly ash replacement and 0.9kg/m3 of blended fiber application was found to be an optimum level and demonstrated excellent performance in durability and thermal property.

  • 본 연구는 여러 종류의 연소가스들의 연소 특성변수를 판단하여 각 가스들 간의 교체 가능성을 조사하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 천연가스, 메탄가스, IGCC 생성가스의 연소특성, 즉 역화, 비화, 및 황염형성을 분제 버너를 이용하여 판단하였고, 실험 데이터는 연소 다이어그램 상에서 이론 공기량 분률과 입열로 표현하였다. 실험 결과, 메탄은 천연가스와 아무런 운전조건의 변화없이 호환가능하나, 천연가스를 IGCC 생성가스로 치환하고자 할 경우는 화염 안정으로 인하여 버너의 운전변수를 조절하여야만 한다. 이러한 연구결과는 다양한 산지에 따른 각종 천연가스들의 교체가능성 및 타 연료와의 호환가능성을 판단하는 기초자료로 사용될 수 있다.

Microbial Synthesis of Cobalt-Substituted Magnetite Nanoparticles by Iron Reducing Bacteria (미생물을 이용한 나노입자의 코발트로 치환된 자철석의 합성)

  • The use of bacteria as a novel biotechnology to facilitate the production of nanoparticles is in its infancy. Cobalt-substituted magnetite nanoparticles were synthesized by a thermophilic iron(III)-reducing bacterium, TOR-39, under anaerobic conditions using amorphous Fe(III) oxyhydroxides plus cobalt ( $Co^{2+}$ and $Co^{3+}$ ) as an electron acceptor and organic carbon as an electron donor. Microbial processes produced copious amounts of nm-sized cobalt substituted magnetites. Chemical analysis and X-ray powder diffraction analysis showed that cobalt was substituted into biologically facilitated magnetites. Microbially facilitated synthesis of the cobalt-substituted magnetites may expand the possible use of the specialized ferromagnetic particles.
