Induction heating is the process in which an electrically conducting object (usually a metal) is heated by electromagnetic induction through heat generated in the object by eddy currents. The main advantage of an induction heating device is the generation of the heat inside the target object itself. Hence, non-contact and safe heating devices are widely used in many industrial and medical fields. Recently, a new dental implant system was developed using a shape-memory alloy, wherein an artificial tooth could be easily removed from the dental implant by heating. This paper discusses the development of an induction-heating device to remove the dental crown in the new implant system. First, the finite element simulation of electromagnetic and thermal coupling analysis was implemented to obtain the temperature distributions of the target object for various frequencies, input currents, and coil shapes. Based on the simulation results, experiments were conducted by using prototypes, and an induction heating device was developed to remove the dental crown from the implant.

Objectives: The purpose of this study were to measure the effect of factors analyse the associated by the oral health behaviors and dental health services utilization factors of dental caries in the middle-school student's and then to provide basic material of preventive oral health and oral health education program. Methods: This subject of study consists of 342 middle schools each 1,2,3 grade Daegu city. The data were collected from July 2 to 30, 2009. by way of the self-reported questionnaire. The data materials are analyzed by demographic characteristics, oral health behaviors and dental health services utilization of frequency analysis, demographic characteristics of dental caries and oral health behaviors and dental health services utilization of one-way ANOVA analysis. Results: Brushing twice a day, which was the higher 69.3%, Students were trained received oral health education. Girls than boys dental caries teeth(DT) index (p<0.05), dental filling teeth(FT) index(p<0.00), dental experience caries teeth(DMFT) index(p<0.00) was higher than all three variables was a statistically significant. Oral health behavior of brushing twice a day 'once' dental caries teeth(DT) index was the highest, there was statistically significant difference (p<0.01), oral health education students experience a higher dental caries teeth(DT) index(p=0.36). dental health services utilization of preventive dental visits last one year when they did not have dental caries teeth(DT) index was higher (p=0.076) Conclusions: Oral health promotion is considered to adolescent as part of the oral health clinics school for elementary school students in the focus to middle school students and enhance.

Objectives: This study was designed to examine the effects of oral health behaviors and use of dental clinics on periodontal diseases in women, the purpose of this study is to provide basic information to develop program for dental health promotion in young women. Methods: We conducted a survey targeting 486 women that agreed with the survey and were going to dental clinic from October 1, 2013 to October 18, 2013. We surveyed them by self-administered questionnaire and analyzed it by SPSS Win 19.0 program. Results: 1. For differences in periodontitis according to general characteristics, if th age is high, ratio of periodontitis is high. Married woman is higher than single one in ratio of periodontitis. Also the more number of birth, the higher ratio of periodontitis is.(p<.05) 2. For differences of periodontitis by dental care behavior, ratio of periodontitis of non-smokers is significantly low. For one that brush one's teeth broadside, the ratio of periodontitis is high.(p<.05) 3. For differences of periodontitis by use of dental clinic service, ratio of periodontitis of one that have more times visit to a dental clinic, more annual average cost for dental care, and regular dental check-ups is relatively low.(p<.05). 4. For determinant factors influencing on periodontitis, ratio of periodontitis of one that is old, have more stress, have a low level of education, and have preventive dental care is high. Ratio of periodontitis of one that have less toothbrushing and brush one's teeth after having lunch or a snack and before sleeping is significantly low. Conclusions: From this study, dental health behavior as the factor influencing on periodontitis of young women is statistically meaningful. Because this dental health behavior has a lot of potential to be improved by government and local community efforts such as education and social support, we think that systematic and various educational program development is needed to strengthen self dental care ability effectively with policy support.
Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the related factors to dental care utilization, oral health behaviors, and oral health status in immigrant workers in Korea. Methods: The subjects were 504 foreign immigrant male workers over 20 years old who visited Daegu labor consultation center for oral health survey and oral examination. The questionnaire included 5 questions of socioeconomic characteristics, 8 questions of oral health practice behavior, 6 questions of dental clinic visit, 8 questions of social relations and Korean language proficiency. The question for health behavior was measure by body mass index(BMI). Social relations and Korean language proficiency instrument was modified by Seol from "Family welfare survey in Korean international marriage" and scored by Liker 5 scale. Results: The oral health examination of the immigrant workers was as follows: decayed teeth - 76.6%, filling teeth - 27.4%, missing teeth - 69.8%, dental caries experience above five or more - 60.2%, periodontal pocket tissues - 58.9%. Simplified Oral Hygiene Index was very poor and accounted for 49.0%. Dental care utilization experience was closely associated with social relation indexes including attendance in family events, household stuff help, financial help and counseling for hard work(p<0.01). Dental care utilization experience proportionally increased with proficiency in Korean literacy including speaking, listening, and writing abilities of Korean language(p<0.01). Conclusions: In order to improve the oral health condition of the immigrant workers, it is important to provide social network, Korean language proficiency support, and health insurance coverage through economic burden reduction by the Korean government.
Dentist can obtain 3D anatomical information without distortion and information loss by using dental Computed Tomography scan images on line, and also can make the preoperative plan of implant placement or orthodontics. It is essential to segment individual tooth for making an accurate diagnosis. However, it is very difficult to distinguish the difference in the brightness between the dental and adjacent area. Especially, the root of a tooth is very elusive to automatically identify in dental CT images because jawbone normally adjoins the tooth. In the paper, we propose a method of automatically tooth region segmentation, which can identify the root of a tooth clearly. This algorithm separate the tooth from dental CT scan images by using Seeded Region Growing method on dental crown and by using Level-set method on dental root respectively. By using the proposed method, the results can be acquired average 19.2% better accuracy, compared to the result of the previous methods.
Background: Dentist's income is quite variable. We investigate the factors underlying the distribution of dental revenue and dentist income. Methods: Financial and structural variables of private dental practices(N=13,967) were examined with 2010 Economic Census microdata which include non-insurance revenue. We conducted quantile regression method(QRM) and ordinary least square(OLS) in treating skewness and heteroskedasticity of distributions. The effective estimation for the upper and lower range of distribution becomes possible by QRM. Results: Mid-career dentists are shown to have higher revenue and income. Male dentists achieve the higher revenue and income than female dentists in all quantiles. Group practices show lower income per owner than solo practices significantly. The revenue and income are increased with increasing size of clinics. The high cost in renting the clinic office is found to have a big positive effect on the revenue but a little positive effect on the income. Interestingly the density of dentists shows negative effect on the lowest quantile of the revenue but positive effect on the highest quantile. The lowest quantile of the revenue in the capital areas have the relatively high revenue. The lowest quantile of the income in metropolitan city show higher income than those in other areas significantly. Conclusion: The suggested QRM is shown to have more effective and efficient tool in finding out determinants of dentists' revenue and income of our concern. The results of this study are expected to be employed for dentists preparing for the opening practices in their organizational settings and locational selections. The distributional efficiency of dental human resources could be accomplished if policy makers guide dentists with this knowledge.

This is a case report of correction of malunioned maxilla after traffic accident by Le Fort I osteotomy and posterior segmental osteotomy. By this procedure, authors obtained the following results. 1. The malinioned maxilla after traffic accident which had anterior crossbite, posterior open bite and scissor's bite were corrected by Le Fort I osteotomy and posterior segmental osteotomy. 2. No postoperative infection and specific complication were seen in this case. 3. Postoperative intermaxillary fixation was maintained for 8 weeks. And then, the patient could open his mouth in normal range after a week of intermaxillary fixation removal. 4. For rigid fixation and reducing relapse, the osteotomized maxilla was fixed with miniplates.

Objectives: It helps dental clinic to work 1:1 consulting and select the properties of the Kakao Talk message. The study was designed to determine the influence of users cognitive and emotional responses by message attribute that affect intention of use of dental clinic. Methods: This study targeted 297 peple Kakao Talk users aged 20-50 s, in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do and Incheon from, February 6 to April 7, 2017. We analyzed the data with frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis by using SPSS ver 24.0(SPSS Inc, Chicago, USA). The significance level for significance was set at 0.05. Results: Among the user's responses about the event type Kakao talk message, the ease(${\beta}=0.121$, p<0.01), usefulness(${\beta}=0.148$, p<0.001), affinity(${\beta}=0.471$, p<0.001), satisfaction(${\beta}=0.249$, p<0.001). affected intention of use of dental clinic. Among the user's responses about the dental information type, the ease(${\beta}=0.150$, p<0.05), expertise(${\beta}=0.151$, p<0.05), satisfaction(${\beta}=0.237$, p<0.001) affected intention of use of dental clinic(p<0.05). Among the user's responses about the general public relations type, the expertise(${\beta}=0.254$), affinity(${\beta}=0.193$), satisfaction(${\beta}=0.474$) affected intention of use of dental clinic(p<0.001). Conclusion: It is necessary to elicit a positive intention of use of dental clinic through a highly emotional response from the users to improve the image of the dental clinic and to attract patients.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare the oral health statuses pre- and post-insurance using the $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data to confirm the effect of scaling insurance after a year. Methods: Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS ver. 21.0 (IBM Co., Armonk, NY, USA). The four years were integrated, and a composite sample analysis was performed. A total of 26,990 people were included in the study before applying for scaling insurance (14,343 persons) or after receiving scaling insurance (12,647 persons). A chi-squared test was performed to compare the demographic characteristics and oral health status of the subjects. The significance level of the statistical test was 0.05. Results: The proportion of patients without implants was high before the provision of scaling insurance once a year, however, the proportion of patients with one or more implants was high (p<0.05) after the provision of scaling insurance once a year. Hemorrhagic periodontal tissues and tartar formation in periodontal tissues were highly prevalent before the provision of scaling insurance once a year, however, healthy periodontal tissues and formation of periodontal pockets were highly prevalent (p<0.05) after the provision of scaling insurance once a year. The decay, missing, and filled teeth index scores were higher before the provision of scaling insurance once a year (p<0.05). Conclusions: The aforementioned results showed that scaling once a year helps prevent or treat periodontal disease. In addition, we confirmed the effect of prevention on periodontal disease and dental caries, therefore, we expect it to develop into a stable policy.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine factors related to the satisfaction level of patients with dental services. Methods : The subjects in this study were 200 patients at three different dental clinics in South Gyeongsang Province, on whom a survey was conducted from June 1 to July 31, 2009. The collected data were analyzed, and the findings of the study were as follows. Results : In regard to the general characteristics of the patients investigated, the women(61.5%) out-numbered the men. By age, those who were at the age of 30 and down made up the largest age group(47.0%). By academic background, the greatest group received junior-college education(54.0%). By occupation, the company employees constituted the largest group (50.5%). By income, the greatest group earned an income of 2 to 2.99 million won(75.0%). Second, as to connections between the characteristics of dental treatment and the reason of choosing the dental clinics, the largest group(70.4%) chose the dental clinics by word of mouth or the recommendation of others. Concerning the reason of dissatisfaction, the biggest group(72.7%) was unsatisfied with medical costs. As for the degree of explicit complaint, the greatest group(49.7%) sort of complained about what made them dissatisfied. Regarding the type of treatment, the biggest group(49.0%) received prosthodontic treatment. In relation to fear for dental treatment, the largest group(34.0%) feared receiving the treatment, and the biggest group(42.6%) did that due to the sound of machines. Third, satisfaction with services(0.762) had the closest correlation to overall satisfaction level, followed by satisfaction with employees(0.735), satisfaction with dentists(0.644) and satisfaction with convenient facilities (0.579). Fourth, the factors that affected overall satisfaction level were gender, the reason of choosing the dental clinic, satisfaction with dentists, satisfaction with employees, satisfaction with services and satisfaction with convenient facilities. The patients who were better satisfied with services(p<0.001), who were more contented with dentists(p<0.001), who chose the dental clinics by the recommendation of others(p<0.01), who were male(p<0.05), who were more gratified with employees(p<0.05) and who were more contented with convenient facilities expressed better overall satisfaction. Conclusions : The above-mentioned findings suggested that dental institutions should keep track of the expectations of patients to prepare differentiated strategies for marketing and human-resources development in consideration of their own circumstances to boost the satisfaction level of patients. Specifically, it's required to heighten the satisfaction level of patients with dentists.
