A study on improvement of positioning accuracy using DGPS technique with low cost GPS modules (저가의 GPS 모듈에 DGPS 기술을 이용한 위치측정정확도 개선에 관한 연구)

  • Accurate positioning method using low cost GPS modules is proposed, which use the technique of differential GPS. DGPS experiments have been made using two coarse-acquisition (C/A) code GPS modules. Position accuracy of better than 5 m was obtained for position dilution of precision (PDOP) of 2-3 and that of better than 10 m after filtering was obtained for PDOP of about 9 in a local area. Static DGPS experiments were performed at Kookmin university with the DGPS correction data of KRISS reference station at Taejon. The distance between two stations is about 140 km. The results show that precision of the position is about 10 m (2 drms), which is ten times better than the results with the GPS module alone. Accuracy of about 10 meters can be obtained in near real time by the DGPS service with a reference station in our country.

  • In this paper, the study of analysis of uranium isotopes in environmental samples with a kinetic phosphorescence analyzer (KPA) was described. After leaching uranium fraction from soil and glass material with microwave acid digestion technology, uranium isotopes were purified with UTEVA column, and then measured using KPA. Linearity and repeatability tests for measurement of uranium isotopes were carried out in the uranium standard solution with KPA. The reliability for analytical method of uranium with KPA was validated by its application to uranium standard solution, ground water, IAEA and NIST reference samples.

  • Dental prosthesis translucency importantly contributes to aesthetic outcomes. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of drying time and zirconia coloring agent type on translucency. For the experiment, 90 circular specimens were fabricated for each zirconia block. Then, zirconia specimens were treated with a coloring agent for 180 seconds and dried for 0 seconds (undried), 30 seconds (intermediate dry), or 30 minutes (complete dry). Then, a specimen was placed on a black standard tile or a white standard tile, and using a standard D65 light source reflected was measured using the light removal method. A total of three repeated measurements were obtained per specimen. One-way ANOVA was used to compare and analyze the relationship between zirconia translucency and drying time. Zirconia and coloring liquid types were significantly associated with translucency (P < 0.001). Although no significant difference was observed with respect to drying time (P > 0.922), zirconia in the completely dried (30 minutes) state was more translucent.

Measurement of the Axial Displacement Error of a Segmented Mirror Using a Fizeau Interferometer (피조 간섭계를 이용한 단일 조각거울 광축방향 변위 오차 측정)

  • The use of segmented mirrors is one of the ways to make the primary mirror of a spaceborne satellite larger, where several small mirrors are combined into a large monolithic mirror. To align multiple segmented mirrors as one large mirror, there must be no discontinuity in the x, y-axis (tilt) and axial alignment error (piston) between adjacent mirrors. When the tilt and piston are removed, we can collect the light in one direction and get an expected clear image. Therefore, we need a precise wavefront sensor that can measure the alignment error of the segmented mirrors in nm scale. The tilt error can be easily detected by the point spread image of the segmented mirrors, while the piston error is hard to detect because of the absence of apparent features, but makes a downgraded image. In this paper we used an optical testing interferometer such as a Fizeau interferometer, which has various advantages when aligning the segmented mirror on the ground, and focused on measuring the axial displacement error of a segmented mirror as the basic research of measuring the piston errors between adjacent mirrors. First, we calculated the relationship between the axial displacement error of the segmented mirror and the surface defocus error of the interferometer and verified the calculated formula through experiments. Using the experimental results, we analyzed the measurement uncertainty and obtained the limitation of the Fizeau interferometer in detecting axial displacement errors.

MPEG-7 Texture Descriptor (MPEG-7 질감 기술자)

  • In this paper, we present a texture description method as a standardization of multimedia contents description. Like color, shape, object and camera motion information, texture is one of very important information in the visual part of international standard (MPEG-7) in multimedia contents description. Current MPEG-7 texture descriptor has been designed to fit human visual system. Many psychophysical experiments give evidence that the brain decomposes the spectra into perceptual channels that are bands in spatial frequency. The MPEG-7 texture description method has employed Radon transform that fits with HVS behavior. By taking average energy and energy deviation of HVS channels, the texture descriptor is generated. To test the performance of current texture descriptor, experiments with MPEG-7 Texture data sets of T1 to T7 are performed. Results show that the current MPEG-7 texture descriptor gives better retrieval rate and fast and fast extraction time for texture feature.

Study on Leakage Measurements of Oxygen and Helium Using Standard Gas Flow Rates in a Orifice Flow (오리피스에서 기체의 표준유량을 이용한 산소와 헬륨의 누설량 측정에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, correlation equations were arranged about mass flow rates of oxygen and volume flow rates of helium using a mouthpiece method. The mouthpiece method can reduce examination cost by using similar empirical formula. Instead of liquid oxygen, in the mouthpiece method, gas helium can be measured in order to determine the leakage amount of liquid oxygen conveniently. Experiment was conducted and compared to understand leakage amount relation between the helium and the oxygen for prototype item under a room and a cryogenic temperature conditions. The leakage volume flow rate [$A.m{\ell}/s$] of the helium was 174 times higher than mass flow rate [g/s] of the oxygen leakage at liquid state. The derived correlation equations were verified using data from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

  • 국제 표준화 연구와 관련하여, 측정 및 분석과 관련된 국제기관들이 참여하여 1993년에 발행된 측정 불확도의 표현지침인 GUM은 데이터의 품질 관리 및 보증의 수단으로서 활발히 연구되고 있다. 특히, 국제적으로도 CCQM, CITAC, Eurachem, NIST 등의 기관을 중심으로 GUM 규격의 적용이 활발히 연구되고 있으나, 미국보다는 유럽에서 데이터 품질의 계량화 기술로서 연구되고 있다. 한편, 유해 대기오염물질인 중금속측정 자료가 국내에 축적되고 있음에도 불구하고 이러한 물질에 대한 측정 불확도가 거의 평가된 적이 없어 분석 값에 대한 보증을 위해 행하는 일련의 과정에 대한 표준 절차서가 시급한 현실이다.(중략)

IDC의 에너지 효율화지수 활용현황에 관한 고찰

  • IDC의 에너지 효율화 측정지수로 IDC 전체 전력 중 ICT장비에 사용한 전력의 비율을 지수화 한 PUE가 활용되고 있다. PUE는 IDC 운영자 및 관리자가 신속하게 현재의 IDC의 에너지 사용에 대한 효율성을 파악하여 에너지 효율 향상에 대한 목표수립을 가능하게 한다. 아직까지 국가적으로 명확한 IDC 에너지 효율화 기준이 없는 우리나라의 대형 IDC를 중심으로 그린그리드의 PUE를 내부 관리지표로 사용하고 있으나 적용 기준이 IDC 전용 데이터센터 위주로 작성되어 있어서 IDC 이외의 용도가 복합적으로 구성되어 있는 우리나라 IDC의 PUE를 객관적으로 측정할 수 있는 표준 마련이 시급한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 IDC 에너지 사용 측정방법과 PUE 구조 및 활용 현황에 대하여 기술하였다. 본 연구는 IDC의 에너지 효율화 측정에 활용할 수 있으며, 향후 제정될 국가적인 IDC 에너지 효율화 지수에 활용될 수 있다.

Study on Next Generation V2X System and Its Transmission Range (차세대 V2X 시스템과 그 전송 거리 분석)

  • In this paper, a novel channel access scheme for the next-generation vehicle to anything (V2X) system based on IEEE 802.11p standard which is applied to recent connected car technologies is suggested and analyzed. The proposed scheme proposes a channel access method utilizing OFDMA multi-user transmission for IEEE 802.11p based system. In this paper, the authors examine geographical distance and network area performance of IEEE 802.11p system and the proposed scheme. Results of this research show that the proposed scheme is quite suitable for improving conventional V2X standards and systems. This paper also provides mathematical analysis and simulation results of the conventional IEEE 802.11p system and the proposed scheme.

Application Development and Type Test for Smart Inverter Based on IEEE 1547-2018 Utilizing Power HILS (Power HILS를 활용한 IEEE 1547-2018 기반 스마트 인버터의 기술개발 및 형식시험 연구)

  • In order to secure the reliability of the power system and to increase the penetration level of distributed energy resources (DERs), requirements such as IEEE 1547 have been revised to strengthen the grid connection standards for DER. This paper proposes a control scheme for smart inverter functions based on IEEE 1547-2018 that satisfy these standards, and introduces a power HILS-based test platform built for verification of smart inverter. Among the smart inverter functions, Volt-var and Frequency-watt allow the curve to be set from the upper level to comply with the interoperability and operation time of enable signals for each function are controlled by references from the upper level. According to the requirement, Volt-var and Frequency-watt are performed via power HILS platform and verified through the measurement results that all of the specified type tests were satisfied.
