A Study on the Minimum Safety Distance between Navigation Vessels based on Vessel Operator's Safety Consciousness (선박운항자 안전 의식에 기초한 선박통항 최소 이격거리에 관한 연구)

  • Vessel Operator has been navigating with subjective sate distance in accordance with night & daytime, fore & aft, port & stbd abeam and visibility situation. This sate distances may different depending on inside & outside harbor limit, current, wind and visibility situation. By now, the concept of proper sate distance between navigating vessels has been adopted in Korea, using the early 1980's foreign data. And the safe distance is being used with the same value without any consideration of inside & outside harbor and the kind of vessel. So it is necessary to evaluate or search proper distance concept based on different sate consciousness of Korean manners. This paper aims to develop the basic model for marine traffic evaluation and the new model of marine traffic congestion. Also this paper proposes the basic control guideline of vessel traffic service center. The result of this study showed that minimum sate distance should be 4.4L forward, 3.1L aft and 26L abeam in case of good visibility in daytime, considering various parameters such as visibility, day and night. Some differences Here found between the existing minimum sate distance and the new minimum sate distance derived from the result of this study.

Thermal Performance Analysis of Multiple Thermal Energy Storage (TES) Caverns with Different Separation Distances Using Computational Fluid Dynamics (전산유체역학을 이용한 다중 열저장공동의 이격거리별 열적 성능 분석)

  • In the present study, the thermal performance of multiple rock caverns for large-scale thermal energy storage (TES) was numerically investigated for different separation distances between the caverns through heat transfer analysis using a computational fluid dynamics code, FLUENT. The thermal performance of multiple caverns was assessed in terms of the thermal stratification within the caverns and the heat loss to the surroundings, and the heating characteristics of the rock around the caverns were investigated. The results of numerical simulation showed that there was little difference in thermal performance between multiple TES caverns with different separation distances when the surrounding rock was less heated and it reached thermal steady-state, which represent the thermal states of the surrounding rock at the early and long-term operational stages of the TES caverns, respectively. However, as the separation distance decreased, the rock between the caverns reached thermal steady-state more quickly, and thus the heat loss from the caverns tended to converge rapidly to the value of heat loss occurred under thermal steady-state conditions in the surrounding rock. This result implies that the operating cost of heating the surrounding rock (i.e., rock heating) can be reduced with a reduction in the separation distance between multiple caverns, and suggests that the separation distance should be determined by considering the operating cost of rock heating as well as the construction cost of the caverns.

Testing Spatial Autocorrelation of Burn Severity (산불 피해강도의 공간 자기상관성 검증에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to test presence of spatial autocorrelation of burn severity in Uljin and Youngduk areas burned in 2011. SPOT satellite images were used to compute the NDVI representing burn severity, and NDVI values were sampled for 5,000 randomly dispersed points for each site. Spatial autocorrelations of sampled NDVI values were analyzed with Moran's I and Variogram models. Moran's I values of burn severity in Uljin and Youngduk areas were 0.7745 and 0.7968, respectively, indicating presence of strong spatial autocorrelations. On the basis of Variogram and changes of Moran's I values by lag class, ideal sampling distance were proposed, which were 566-2,151 m for Uljin and 272-402 m for Youngduk. It was recommended to apply these ranges of sampling distance in flexible corresponding to Anisotropic characteristics of burned areas.

  • 전세계적으로 자율운항선박 기술개발이 활발하게 이루어지고 있으며, IMO(국제해사기구)에서는 자율운항선박 도입을 위한 제도적 측면에서 검토 중이다. 우리나라도 해수부-산업부 공동으로 자율운항선박 기술개발사업을 진행 중이며, 2025년까지 자율화등급 3수준의 기술개발을 목표로 한다. 본 연구는 자율운항선박 항해에 기초가 될 충돌회피 시점을 도출하고자 한다. 이를 위해 우리나라 연안의 해상교통조사 자료를 이용하여 선박운항자의 피항시점(CPA, TCPA, 위험도, 이격거리, 선수방향차이 등)을 파악하고자 한다. 피항시점은 자율운항시스템의 기초학습자료로 이용할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

A Study Over the Relationship Between Apartment Prices and Distances from Expressway interchanges (In the case of the Seoul Beltway) (고속도로 인터체인지 이격거리와 주변 아파트 가격의 관계연구 (서울외곽순환고속도로 영향권을 중심으로))

  • The present study is performed to identify the relationship between apartment prices and distances from freeway interchanges. To collect consistent data and to simplify the sphere of the influence, the Seoul beltway was selected as the target road. Two sides of the Seoul beltway such as the inner side and the outer side are partitioned following the whole beltway line. The maximum distance to be taken care of in data collection was 6.0km from freeway interchanges. Results show that there exist consistent patterns between apartment prices and distances from freeway interchanges. In detail, if the apartment is located on the sphere of the influence, it is shown that a) the prices are increased overall b) the prices are low at very near of interchanges c) the prices are increasing up to the points of about 2.0~4.0km from interchanges d) the prices are decreasing after the points. Additionally, it is shown the pattern observed was following approximately a quadratic curve which is different from the liner curve obtained from the similar study over the sphere of the influence in railway(Subway).

  • Since there is no clear installation criteria on minimum spacing between signalized intersection and minor road, many problems have occurred in terms of traffic operation and safety. Even though many studies about entrance/exit intersection have been done in operational aspects, there is no specific and detailed research between the signalized intersection and minor road by now. Thus, this research suggests the optimal spacing between signalized intersection and minor road considering traffic operation and safety. Also, survey on vehicle behavior was conducted in this research. In conclusion, by suggesting the required minimum spacing between signalized intersection and minor road, it can be contribute in establishing and operating the installation criteria between signalized intersection and minor road.

  • Chemical accidents caused by transport vehicles account for 20% of all chemical accidents every year, but there are difficulties in the accident-response process due to repeated situations where the impact assessment information is unknown. In this study, we developed a calculation table and formula for predicting the range of damage for chlorine and hydrogen fluoride, which have a high domestic usage, high risk of accidents, and high accident frequency in the last 7 years. The calculation table is based on the leakage rate, wind speed, and temperature, and the calculation formula was derived using R software for special situations where it is difficult to apply the calculation table. The calculation table and formula could be used on site by related organizations to obtain important information for decision making, which could help in minimizing damage from chemical accidents, setting separation distances, and deciding to evacuate residents.

Effect of Underground Building for the Groundwater flow in the Ground Excavation (지반굴착에 따른 지반 안정성 평가 시 지하시설물이 지하수흐름에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of underground facilities around excavation zone on groundwater flow characteristics during excavation. The scenarios were constructed considering the size of the underground facility, the separation distance, and the hydraulic gradient. As a result, as the size of the underground facility increases, the difference of head and the hydraulic gradient become large. The shorter the separation distance of underground facility is, the more the difference of head and the hydraulic gradient occur. The effect of hydraulic gradient on model area was relatively small. As a result of analysis of groundwater flow rate for the scenario, groundwater flow rate tends to decrease as the size of underground facility increases or groundwater flow rate tends to decrease as the separation distance decreases. It is necessary to examine the effect of underground facilities on the groundwater flow analysis in the ground excavation.

Evaluation of Extremely Low Frequency Magnetic Fields emission Level from High Voltage Transmission Lines (고압 송전선로에서 극저주파 자기장 영향평가 적용에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigated the ELF-MF emission level of various environments such as 258 facilities near located to high voltage transmission lines and 120 high voltage transmission lines, 17 underground cable lines. In addition, ELF-MF reduction rate according to separation distance was calculated by using simulations. An appropriate separation distance showing below 4mG was at least 70m. In the case of the appropriate separation distance for 120 high voltage transmission lines, 154kV required 20m of separation distance and 345kV required 60m of separation distance. The simulation results showed that the appropriate separation distance showing below 4mG was 40m and 60m for overhead 154kV and 345kV respectively. To adjust the worst conditions considering the aspects of environmental impact assessment study and the electric power currents that will increase in the future, the appropriate minimum separation distance for HVTL is judged to be above 70m in this study. Thus, there is a need to establish the greenbelt or buffer zone within 70m so as to create an environment in which the receptors are not exposed and thereby eliminate the risk factors of ELF-MF against humans.

  • 일반적 의미의 성형폭약이라 함은 폭약 중에 빈공간이 존재하여 표면쪽으로 개방되어 있는 한덩이의 고폭약을 말한다. 이런 이유로 절단 단면의 형상은 주로 V 자형을 이루고 있으며 보통 V자의 뽀족한 부분이 기폭부분이 된다. 성형폭약은 그 생김새를 기준으로 크게 2가지로 나눌 수가 있는데 원뿔형과 선형이 그것이다. 원뿔형 성형폭약은 그 초기 발전단계부터 군용 대장갑용으로 명성을 떨쳤으며 현재에도 많은 연구가 진행되고 있는 상태이다. 이에 비해 선형 성형폭약은 철구조물 해체나 여러 용도의 민간/상업용 절단도구로 많이 쓰이고 있는데 두 번의 세계전쟁을 치루며 엄청난 규모의 물질적 인적 지원을 바탕으로 발전한 원뿔형 성형폭약에 비해서 턱없이 연구실적이 부족한 상태이다. 이 논문에서는 일반적인 선형 성형폭약의 관통력에 대한 연구가 아닌 기능적 측면에 대한 연구결과를 서술하며, 기능적 측면상 중요한 몇 개의 항목에 대한 수량화, 정의 및 연구가 이루어진다. 그 항목으로는 발전거리(run up distance), 이격거리(stand off distance), 기폭위치에 따른 절단모양, 파편 분간 형상 등이 있으며 각 항목에 대한 하류 항목들은 본문에서 다루어진다. 모든 실험은 University of Missouri-Rolla, Rock Mechanics and Explosives Research Center 에서 이루어 졌으며 대부분의 실험은 500grain/ft 선형성형폭약을 사용하여, 기폭 후 철제목표물을 관통한 형상 및 관통 단면을 관찰하는 형식으로 이루어졌다.
