Development of Collision Risk Evaluation Model Between Passing Vessel and Mokpo Harbour Bridge (통항 선박과 목포 대교의 충돌 위기 평가 모델 개발)

  • To assess the possible collision risk between Mokpo Harbour Bridge, which is under construction, and passing vessels, we proposed Real-Time Bridge-Vessel Collision Model (RT-BVCM) in this paper. The mathematical model of RT-BVCM consists of the causation probability by the vessel aberrancy due to navigation environments, the geometric probability by the structural feature of a bridge relative to a ship size and, the failure probability by the ship collision track and the stopping distance which is not to come to a stop before hitting the obstacles. Then, the probabilistic mathematical model represented as risk index with the risk level from 1 to 5. The merit of the proposed model to the collision model proposed by AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) is that it can provide enough time to take adequate collision avoiding action. Through the simulation tests to the two kinds of test ships, 3,000 GT and 10,000 GT, it is cleary found that the proposed model can be used as a collision evaluation model to the passing vessel and Mokpo Harbour Bridge.

  • 확률적(stochastic) RFID 충돌방지 알고리즘은 둘 이상의 태그가 리더기의 인식범위 내에 있을 경우 태그들이 동시에 리더기의 질의에 응답함으로서 발생하는 충돌을 확률적으로 감소시켜, 정확하고 빠르게 다수의 태그를 인식하기 위한 알고리즘이다. 본 논문에서는 확률적 충돌방지 알고리즘 중 하나인 dynamic framed ALOHA를 기반으로 새로운 태그 수 추정 방법을 이용한 RFID 충돌 방지 알고리즘을 제안하였다.

  • This study developed a methodology for estimating the fatality reduction by introducing technical regulation on pedestrian protection in pedestrian-vehicle collisions. Modeling a probabilistic pedestrian fatality model with logistic regression approach was one of keen interests, which employed in estimating the fatality reduction. Collision speed obtained from the accident reconstruction was used in the model development. The effects of fatality reduction, in case various Head Injury Criterion (HIC) and collision speeds are applied for the regulation. were presented as the major outcome of this study. It is expected that the outcome of this study would be an invaluable tool to assist in developing various technologies and policies for pedestrian protection.

유한한 크기를 가지는 유도 결합 플라즈마에서 비충돌 가열 매커니즘 연구

  • 낮은 압력의 평판형 유도 결합 플라즈마 (Inductively Coupled Plasma, ICP)에서 챔버 높이를 바꾸면서 전자 에너지 확률 함수 (Electron Energy Probability Function, EEPF)를 측정하였다. 측정된 전자 에너지 확률 함수에서 기울기가 평평한 부분이 관찰됐고, 이러한 전자 에너지 분포함수의 평평한 부분은 챔버 높이를 증가함에 따라 높은 전자 에너지로 옮겨졌다. 이러한 현상을 분석하기 위해서 2차원 비충돌 가열 메커니즘이 포함된 유도 결합 플라즈마 모델로부터 전자 에너지 확산 계수와 이론적인 전자 에너지 확률 함수를 구하여 실험 결과와 비교하였다. 이를 통하여, 측정된 전자 에너지 확률 함수의 평평한 부분은 전자 튕김 공진 (electron bounce resonance)에 의한 것임을 알 수 있었다.

Throughput Analysis Based on Collision Probability in 802.11 Networks (802.11 네트워크의 충돌확률 기반 성능 분석)

  • IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN Medium Access Control(MAC) supports two transmission methods, a DCF basic and a RTS/CTS in contention-based access. Even though the RTS/CTS method has been optionally introduced to solve the hidden terminal problem, it is able to produce better performance in some network environments than the basic transmission method. In this paper, the collision probability of wireless channel is mathematically analyzed and applied to measure network throughput using real transmission parameters so that a reference value between throughputs of two methods is obtained. We also confirmed that control signal rates affect overall network throughput and evaluated network throughputs considering collision probability, number of stations, and contention window size of Backoff between two methods respectively.

  • The increasing number of orbital debris objects is a risk for satellite operations due to space activities over past 50 years since launched Sputnik. The GEO (Geostationary Earth Orbit), where COMS-1 is being operated since last June 2010, has more and more risks that collide with space debris or another satellites. In this paper, as a preliminary study about GEO satellite collision probability and operations environment, collision probability between COMS-1 and RADUGA 1-7 that is one of Russian military communication satellites is investigated and analyzed. Indeed, the space environment including space debris of COMS-1 is presented. As a result, it is noted that collision probability between two satellites using NORAD TLEs on 14th Jan. 2011 was 2.8753E-07 in case that position uncertainty was assumed 10km. Particularly, the largest proportion of space debris around COMS-1's mission orbit is meteoroids.

  • In this paper, a collision probability, processing time and traffic capacity analysis algorithm for RFID system using random FHSS and synchronous FHSS is proposed. Service time, duty cycle, traffic intensity and additional delay time required for re-transmission due to collision are considered and the processing delay and frequency channel capacity are analyzed for the steady state operation of the system. The simulation results which show maximum capacity of the system and explain the accuracy of the algorithm are provided.

  • 해상교통안전진단제도의 시행으로, 해상교통에 영향을 미칠 가능성이 있는 모든 건설 사업은 필히 선박운항자 관점에서 그 안전성을 검토하여야 한다. 진단제도의 정량적 평가항목 중에, 선박이 장애물이나 위험지역과의 충돌확률을 평가하는 근접도 평가항목이 있는데, 이는 항로상의 어떤 단면에서의 선박 궤적 분포가 정규 분포를 한다는 가정에 근거하고 있다. 한편, 진단제도의 또 하나의 정량적 평가기법중 하나인 해상교통류 시뮬레이션에서는, 대상 선박들의 예상 항차수로부터 선박을 통계적으로 발생시키는 기법을 사용하는데, 여기에서는 항로상의 특정 지점을 연속해서 통과하는 선박들의 시간 간격이 Poisson 분포를 따른다는 가정을 사용한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기본적인 가정들이 적합한지를 고찰하기 위하여, 광양 및 인천항에서 실측한 해상교통현황 조사 결과를 분석하였다.

  • Collision fragility analysis of offshore bridge by ship was performed. Collision velocity and angle were chosen as random variables then collision of 18,000DWT and 30,000DWT ships with bridge was analyzed. Displacement response surface of bridge by ship collision was estimated by varying ship velocity from 2 m/s to 7 m/s. Using the result of reliability analysis, fragility curves of collision was established and risk of offshore bridge to collision velocity as median and log-standard deviation was presented.
