Elasto-Plastic Dynamic Analysis of Solids by Using SPH without Tensile Instability (인장 불안정이 제거된 SPH을 이용한 고체의 동적 탄소성해석)

  • In this paper elasto-plastic dynamic behavior of solid is analyzed by using smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) without tensile instability which caused by a clustering of SPH particles. In solid body computations, the instability may corrupt physical behavior by numerical fragmentation which, in some cases of elastic or brittle solids, is so severe that the dynamics of the system is completely wrong. The instability removed by using an artificial stress which introduces negligible errors in long-wavelength modes. Applications to several test problems show that the artificial stress works effectively. These problems include the collision of rubber cylinders, fracture and crack of plate.

Heat/Mass Transfer Characteristics for Variation of Injection Hole in Rotating Impingement/Effusion Cooling System (회전하는 충돌제트/유출냉각기법에서 분사홀 변화에 따른 열/물질전달 특성)

  • The present paper deals with the heat/mass transfer characteristics for the rotating impingement/effusion cooling system. By changing the size and number of injection hole, its effects on heat/mass transfer are investigated and three different injection hole cases are considered such as LH, DH and SH, respectively. Reynolds number based on the effusion hole diameter is fixed to 3,330 and two jet orientations are considered. A naphthalene sublimation method is used to obtain the heat/mass transfer coefficients on the effusion plate. The LH case shows that the local heat/mass transfer is significantly varied by the rotation. Moreover, the low and non-uniform Sh distributions occur because the impinging jet is deflected by Coriolis force. Meanwhile, for DH and SH cases, the local heat/mass transfer coefficients are enhanced significantly compared to LH case and the rotation effect decreases with increasing the jet velocity. The averaged Sh value of DH and SH case rises up to 45%, 85% than that of LH case. However, the uniformity of heat/mass transfer deteriorates due to the steep variation of heat/mass transfer.

  • The beam structure models with an impactor or contact parts under impact forces have teen applied to the design of mechanical and electronic accessories. Switches, hard-disk pick-ups and sensors are typical structural examples of the structure to be designed to colliding with other parts of structures. In this paper, in order to examine the relationships between the changes of the stiffness and damping of the impactor and vibrations of the dynamic characteristics of the impact model of a cantilevered beam with an impactor, impact force of the impactor and response characteristics of the cantilevered beam were analyzed by both numerical simulation and experiment. Since the stiffness and damping of the impactor have high nonlinear characteristics, the contact model using revised Herz-model was established by experiments. Also, the results of numerical analyses for dynamic response and impact force of a cantilevered beam with an impactor have a good agreement with experimental results.

마그네트론 스퍼터링의 전산모사

  • Sputtering은 박막의 품질(부착력, 밀도, 균일도등)이 우수하고 대면적 증착이 용이하여 반도체, 디스플레이, MEMS기술등과 같은 첨단산업에서 널리 이용되고 있는 증착방법이다. 일반적인 평판형 스퍼터건은 전계와 자계가 직교하는 Target의 일부영역에서만 스퍼터링 현상이 발생하게 되어 증착물질의 사용효율이 20~30% 정도로 좋지 못하고 스퍼터링 되지않는 부분에서는 재증착 현상에 의한 파티클 발생을 유발하여 Substrate에 손상을 입혀 박막의 질을 떨어뜨리게 된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점들의 물리적 현상의 진단 및 최적화를 위해 Particle-In-Cell (PIC)시뮬레이션을 이용하여 그 특성들을 알아보았다. 인가전압, 압력, 증착물질과 기판사이의 거리를 변화시켜 자기장이 포함된 Paschen curve를 그렸다. 전기장만이 포함된 시스템에서의 Paschen curve는 이미 공식으로 알려져 있으며 마그네트론 스퍼터링의 시스템에서 Paschen curve와 비교하여 보다 낮은 압력에서 플라즈마가 형성할 수 있는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 Target에 충돌하는 아르곤이온의 양, 에너지 분포, 각도의 분포 등을 관찰하였는데, 대부분의 아르곤이온은 압력이 증가할수록 에너지가 큰 경향성을 가지며 입사각도는 Target에 보다 수직으로 충돌하는 경향을 볼 수 있었다. 증착물질과 기판사이의 거리의 변화에 대해서는 이온 특성의 변화는 없었다.

중이온가속기 진공도 요구조건에 대한 고찰

  • 중이온가속기에서 잔류기체 분자와 가속 이온의 충돌이 발생하면 이온빔 전류의 손실을 야기하는 직접적인 효과 외에 잔류 기체분자 중에서 전리된 이온들이 반발력에 의해 용기 벽에 부딪힐 때 표면에 흡착되어 있던 기체분자들을 충격탈리(stimulated desorption)시킨다. 더 심각한 경우는 산란된 고속 이온이 용기 벽과 충돌하면서 핵반응을 일으켜 방사화 시키거나 벽에서 다량의 기체를 방출시키는 것이다. 최악의 경우에는 고속이온의 에너지에 의해 용기벽이나 부품들이 열적인 손상을 입을 수도 있다. 현재 설계 및 연구개발이 진행중인 기초과학원(IBS) RISP (Rare Isotope Science Project)의 RAON 중이온가속기는 입사기에서 실험영역까지 각 부분의 진공도 조건이 일반적으로 10-8~10-9 mbar 대에 있어서 이온빔 전류의 손실이나 전리 이온들에 의한 충격탈리는 무시할 수도 있지만 고속이온의 기체방출 수율이 ~104 정도로 높은 것을 감안할 때 고속이온의 충격탈리에 의한 압력 증가가 감내할 수준인지 검토할 필요가 있다. 압력증가는 추가적인 손실을 유발하고 이것은 다시 압력을 상승시키는 진공 불안정성(vacuum instability)을 야기할 수 있다는 축면에서 조심하는 것이 좋다고 판단된다. 고속 중이온과 잔류기체 분자와의 충돌에서 이온이 손실되는 반응에는 쿨롬(coulomb) 산란과 전하교환(charge exchange)이 있는데 전자는 후자에 비해 일반적으로 1/10000 가까이 낮아서 무시할 수 있고, 전자 포획(electron capture) 또는 전자 손실(electron loss, 이온의 전리에 해당)로 대별되는 전하교환 반응이 이온 손실을 주도하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이 연구에서는 다양한 전하교환 반응 단면적을 아우르는 비례칙(scaling law)을 사용하여 대표적인 중이온인 U33+ 및 U79+의 손실 및 잔류 기체의 전리율을 계산하고 충격탈리에 의한 표면방출 및 압력상승을 일차적으로 고려하여 진공도 조건의 타당성을 입증하려고 한다.

The Study of Visualization for Moving Particles in the Water Using Artificial Neural Network (인공신경망을 이용한 수중 충돌입자의 가시화 연구)

  • In this paper, we proposed a visualization system with ANN algorithm that traits the motion of particles that move colliding in the water, where we got a great deal of variable information and predicts the distribution of particles according to the flowing of water and the pattern of their precipitation. We adopted ART2 to detect sensitively the collision between particles in this visualzation. Various particles and their mutual collision influencing the force such as buoyancy force, gravitational force, and the pattern of precipitation are considered in this system. Flowing particles whose motion is changed with the environment can be visualized in the system presented here as they are in real water.

  • This paper presents the design of a graphic memory for QVGA-scale LCD Driver IC (LDI). The graphic memory is designed based on the pseudo-SHAM for the purpose of small area, and the memory cell structure is designed using a bit line partitioning method to improve sensing characteristics and drivabilties in the line-read operation. Also, a collision protection circuit using C-gate is designed to control collisions between read/write operations and self-refresh/line-read operations effectively. The graphic memory circuit has been designed in transistor level using $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology library and the operations of the graphic memory have been verified using Hspice. The results show that the bit-bitb line voltage difference, ${\Delta}V$ increases by 40%, the charge sharing time between bit and bitb voltages $T_{CHGSH}$ decreases by 30%, and the current during line-read decreases by 40%.

Development of Pedestrian Fatality Model using Bayesian-Based Neural Network (베이지안 신경망을 이용한 보행자 사망확률모형 개발)

  • This paper develops pedestrian fatality models capable of producing the probability of pedestrian fatality in collision between vehicles and pedestrians. Probabilistic neural network (PNN) and binary logistic regression (BLR) ave employed in modeling pedestrian fatality pedestrian age, vehicle type, and collision speed obtained from reconstructing collected accidents are used as independent variables in fatality models. One of the nice features of this study is that an iterative sampling technique is used to construct various training and test datasets for the purpose of better performance comparison Statistical comparison considering the variation of model Performances is conducted. The results show that the PNN-based fatality model outperforms the BLR-based model. The models developed in this study that allow us to predict the pedestrian fatality would be useful tools for supporting the derivation of various safety Policies and technologies to enhance Pedestrian safety.

A Study on Dynamic Behavior of Guardrail Associated with Design Variables (설계변수에 의한 가아드레일의 동력학적 거동에 관한 연구)

  • The nonlinear dynamic behaviors of guardrail established on the local or high way have been investigated using BARRIER VII program with respect to four design variables such as section type of beams and posts, impact angle, impact velocity and vehicle weight. Computer simulation programs are sophisticated analytical models for analyzing dynamic vehicle/barrier interactions and provide a relatively inexpensive alternative to full scale crash testing. This study has been focused on the structural adequacy, occupant risk, and vehicle trajectory. For this purpose, the maximum defection and impact force have been calculated to design the clear zone and to analyze effect of impact attenuation. Also, the acceleration of vehicle and exit angle after collision have been computed to estimate the occupant risk. From this study, it is suggested that we should strengthen the design criteria of guardrail to prevent from disastrous traffic accidents.

Comparison of Isokinetic Strength between Stage 1,2 Impingement Syndrome and Rotator Cuff Tear (1, 2단계 충돌 증후군과 회전근 개 파열 환자의 등속성 근력 비교)

  • Purpose: The goal of this study was to evaluate differences in strength deficits between (i) patients with stage 1 or 2 impingement syndrome and (ii) patients with rotator cuff tears. Materials and Methods: We enrolled 43 patients with stage 1 or 2 impingement syndrome (group 1) and 21 patients with rotator cuff tears (group 2). The isokinetic strength of both groups was evaluated at $60^{\circ}/sec$ for external rotation, internal rotation, adduction and abduction. We measured the peak torque, total work, average power of bilateral sides, peak torque relationship to body weight, and the ratio between unilateral agonist and antagonist. Results: The isokinetic strength deficits assessed in ratio of peak torque to body weight for group 1 and group 2 respectively were; $28.48{\pm}23.76%$ and $29.12{\pm}32.81%$ for abduction (p=0.929), $7.20{\pm}13.98%$ and $18.94{\pm}19.52%$; for adduction (p=0.021), $16.88{\pm}13.76%$ and $25.80{\pm}24.07%$; for external rotation (p=0.221), and $14.1{\pm}25.67%$ and $29.02{\pm}35.06%$ for internal rotation (p=0.059). For average power and total work, group 2 showed a significantly greater deficit for adduction and internal rotation than group 1. Conclusion: Those with rotator cuff tears have more isokinetic muscle strength deficits than those with stage 1 or 2 impingement syndrome. Progression from stage 1 and 2 impingement syndrome to stage 3 may result in greatest changes in strength deficits for internal rotation and adduction.
