Subtitles in entertainment programs have extended the roles from providing additional explanation and complementary sound effect to maximizing amusement and impression as the type which triggers the audience's interest. This study examined the characteristics of the subtitles and the effects on the audiences, mainly focused on of JTBC. Based on the result of the content analysis, the interested subtitles are continuously presented in each episode (10~20%) compared to the proportion of the total captions. Producers have repeatedly used the nickname of the cast members to construct and reinforce the character of them. The text analysis shows that the audience's perception about the cast is mainly influenced by the subtitles. The producers intentionally use the subtitles and subjectively intervene in the entertainment programs. The subtitles have a major effect on the audience's perception and image formation. Producers should be more prudent about their use of subtitles and viewers, on the other hand, must interpret the meaning of subtitles, as active information consumers.

This paper analyzed features of Korean entertainment program formats exported to Asia mostly with that of top 100 Global entertainment program formats exported globally in order to explore Korean entertainment program formats to export globally. Two groups of entertainment program were analyzed in three ways, program category, cast, and material. Regarding program category, quiz game programs showed highest exportation in Global top 100 formats while only 14.3% of Korean entertainment formats exported. As for the cast members, Korean formats prefer well-known celebrities. On the other hand, Global formats produce programs featuring non-famous, ordinary people. Moving on to material of each formats, Global formats focus on puzzle/riddle whereas, Korean formats mainly focus on music/dance and family/parenting. These results indicate that Korean entertainment programs contain strong cultural aspects which generate disadvantages on exportation of these programs, compared to Global entertainment programs. In conclusion, to export Korean entertainment program formats globally, quiz game format with ordinary people and using materials that delivers less cultural aspects are need to be developed.

불확실성이 큰 콘텐츠 산업의 특성상 방송 콘텐츠는 막대한 투자에 비해 그 효과 예측이 매우 어려우며 아직까지 출연진과 제작진에 대한 합리적인 평가지표도 존재하지 않는다. 방송용 드라마의 경쟁력을 평가하는 수단으로 현재까지 가장 유용한 지표는 시청률이다. 비록 스마트폰과 같은 매체를 통한 시청이 늘어남에 따라 TV 시청률의 절대 수치는 지속적으로 감소하고 있지만 TV 시청률을 대체할 만한 유용한 지표는 아직까지 없다. 본 연구에서는 방송용 드라마에 참여하는 인적자원의 평가지표와 시청률의 비교 우위를 활용하여 드라마의 흥행성을 과학적으로 예측하려고 한다.

Korean entertainment programs have attempted to change formats to reflect the viewers' preference for the unexpected progress of narrative. Casts have used their public identity and it contributes to strengthen the realism by providing their realistic reactions. This study is to advance understanding of entertainment characters' characteristic by classifying character types and analyzing main types that have been appeared repeatedly. This study suggests securing diversity of entertainment characters by noticing character types appearing at low frequency in classification.

This paper is an experimental study using eye-tracking on the visual attention of TV entertainment programs with PPL products being shoveled by the acceptor. As a result of analysis, first, there was no difference in the exposure time of the PPL product, which is deemed to have little effect on the subject's attention. Second, there was no difference in the PPL product's prominence, and we could see that the focus was on subtitles or the faces of the cast. Third, the concentration of attention on PPL products was higher when there were more famous cast members than there were when there were low-profile cast members, and the appearance of famous cast members was judged to be very effective in order to focus more attention on PPL products. In conclusion, when exposing PPL products in entertainment programs, it is believed that the more popular the cast members appear on entertainment shows, such as famous broadcasters, celebrities, and stars, the more effective the PPL products are, rather than the exposure time and prominence of PPL products, the more effective the companies will be in advertising the popular and likable celebrities.

Korea needs to create, diffuse, and exploit scientific and technological knowledge effectively through transforming its national innovation system from imitative system to creative one. For this purpose, it is necessary for Korea to nurture creative human capital (CHC), which are the main actor of generating S&T and innovation. This paper aims at discussing the strategies of nurturing creative human capital of government-sponsored research institutes (GRIs). In this paper, we argue that the management of creative human capital is particularly important for Korean GRIs because they deals directly with scientific and technological activities. For effective management of GRIs' creative human capital, we suggest a Model for Life Cycle Management of Creative Human Capital. This model is composed of four stages: inviting well-qualified researchers, strengthening mobility of researchers, providing special certificates to excellent researchers, and effectively exploiting retired researchers. We emphasize that each stage should form and reinforce a virtuous cycle. This paper argues that GRIs' creative human capital should be nurtured as 'Inverse T-Type Manpower', who have not only deep knowledge on their own special S&T areas but also broad knowledge on related areas, based on this Life Cycle Management Model.

우리나라의 산·학·연 기술혁신시스템을 점검하고 문제에 대한 대책을 제시하였다. 대학의 문제점으로는 교수인력의 유동성부족과 비경쟁체제를 지적하였다. 출연연은 기능을 공공문제해결로 전환해야 하며, 연구원신분의 안정을 지적하였다. 산업계의 R&D 능력의 제고를 위하여, 정부의 유인책을 제시하였다. 그리고 과학기술 담당부처에서는 국가연구개발사업을 공공부문으로 전환할 것을 제안하며, 종합조정의 범위확대, 평가시스템의 투명화, 연구관리의 전문성 보강, 기술분류를 통한 연구관리 그리고 과학산업의 육성을 제안하였다. 이러한 일들이 제대로 수행되려면 공무원의 전문성이 보강되어야 함을 주장하며, 산·학·연 및 공무원의 전문성제고가 우리 경쟁력제고의 가장 중요한 방향이라고 제기하였다.
