The effect of university students' personal values and fertility promotion policy perception on Childbearing willngness (대학생의 개인적 가치관과 출산장려정책 인식이 출산의지에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was attempted to identify the effect of university students on their childbirth willingness, provide it as basic data for childbirth encouragement policies, and contribute to the composition of educational data. Multiple regression analysis of data from 195 university students using the SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. The more conservative the view of marriage (r=.142, p<.05) and the higher the degree of awareness of childbirth encouragement policy(r=.258, p<.01), the more significant the correlation was childbearing willingness. The conservative marriage values, youth job policies, and the degree of recognition of work-family balance support influenced the childbearing willingness, and these variables explained the childbearing willingness 9.2%.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the effective policy on secondary childbirth encouragement of married women. The design for this study is a cross-sectional descriptive study. Samples were collected from 322 women who have one child younger than 6 years old. The instruments for this study was a questionnaire consisted of items about policy on childbirth encouragement. The data were analyzed by chi-square test, Mann-whitney's U test, and logistic regression with SPSS 17.0 program. The results showed that the employed women's intention of having a second child was affected by the age, working day per week, and policy on childbirth. But, in case of unemployed women, both of demographic and policy variables were not statistically significant. These findings suggest that different policy on support of birth, work-family life balance, and various tax benefits be developed to satisfy the needs of the employed women and the unemployed women.

Study on the Influence of Child Birth Promotion Policy Due to postpartum care and Maternity Leave to Economical Activities in the Era of Convergence (융복합시대 산후조리와 육아휴직으로 인한 출산장려정책이 경제활동에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This research aims to look into correlation between Korea's childbirth promotion policy caused from women's maternity leave and economic activity. For the purpose, 300 surveys were distributed to mothers using postnatal care centers located in Seoul. Listed postnatal care centers such as Babe Glory, Shinsegae, Happy, Miznomall and out of 260, 222 surveys were selected for the research. Several advanced studies regarding child birth promotion policy backed up by current government and related domestic and overseas documents were used as reference. Decisive factors including social insurance, tax, cost for child birth and rearing service, social culture were derived as trait elements for child birth promotion. Mentioned factors along with economic activity by childbearing women were used when setting up the research model and hypothesis. Relation with material leave was employed as parameter for this study of which purpose lies in empirical analysis and investigation.

  • The study was conducted to identify factors that affect the first childbearing decisions among married working women in South Korea and thereby to gain insight into effective ways to improve relatively low fertility and unfavorable workplace conditions for women of childbearing age. This study used the merged data(1st-5th waves) from Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families (KLoWF), which were measured by the Korean Women's Development Institute. With 1,020 married business women, cross tab and binary logistic regression were conducted to determine which factors were significantly associated with the first childbearing decisions.

  • 우리나라는 다출산 남아선호 문화를 가지고 있다. 그러나 지난 30여년간 강력한 출산조절정책으로 출산력을 선진국 수준으로 낮추는데 성공했다. 앞으로 생산현장의 노동인력 부족만을 염려하여 출산 장려쪽으로 선회하고자 하는 인구정책은 있을 수 없는 일이다.

The Moderating Effects of Birth Rate Policies between Korean Women's Values of Children and Their Intentions for Subsequent Childbirth (기혼여성의 자녀가치관과 추가출산의향 간의 관계에서 출산장려정책의 조절효과 분석)

  • This study aims to analyze whether both childcare subsidy and childcare leave policies have moderating effects on the relationship between Korean women's value of children and their intentions for subsequent childbirth. The data are used from the 2015 National Survey on Fertility and Family Health and Welfare. Both hierarchical multiple regression analysis and moderated regression analysis are used for statistical analysis. The findings from the study are as follow. First, the ideal number of children, instrumental values, and emotional values have positive effects on the intentions for subsequent childbirth after controlling for background variables(level of education, income, age, and number of children). Second, childcare leave policy has no significant effect on the intentions for subsequent childbirth while childcare subsidy policy has the negative effect. Third, only childcare subsidy policy has moderating effects on the relationship between instrumental, emotional values, and the intentions for subsequent childbirth. These results suggest that policies enhancing the value of children should be implemented in addition to traditional birth rate policies. Furthermore, new birth rate polices are needed for those married women who have a high possibility of subsequent childbirth.

A Study on Why Married Men Decide to Have Additional Children (기혼남성의 추가 출산계획 여부에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구)

  • This study examined the cause of the low fertility rate by the Policy on Childbirth Encouragement demographic of married males, parenting burden, parental role satisfaction, and policy on childbirth encouragement perception. It also explored these factors of having an effect on the Plan to have another Child. The study method involved a survey answered by married males in Seoul, Gyung-gi, Incheon and a total of 188 copies were used for the final analysis. The data analyses used SPSS 12.0 which employs basic statistics, reliability tests, and binary logistic regression. The results were as follows: First, It turns out that couples who don't have many children and when the wife is not that old, particularly have high parental role satisfaction. And when they acknowledge the policy on childbirth encouragement, they tend to choose the 'Both Husband and Wife want to give birth' category. Second, the 'Only wife wants to give birth' category was chosen for those who have a small number of children and when a wife was currently not working and the husband was not satisfied with his parental role. Third, the 'Only husband wants to give birth' category tends to be chosen when couples have a small number of children and especially if the wife is working. Last, it was shown that coupless who have many children choose the 'Both husband and wife don't want to give birth' category.

  • 10월 10일은 임산부의 날이다. 저출산이 심각한 사회문제로 대두되면서 출산을 장려하고 임신부를 배려하기 위하여 2005년 정부가 제정했다. 풍요와 수확을 상징하는 10월과 임신기간 10개월을 의미한다. 임산부의 날을 맞이해 임신이 되지 않아 고민이 많은 난임 부부들이 궁금해하는 사항을 알아봤다.
