  • The auto industry has significantly evolved to the extent that much attention is paid to M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication. In M2M communication which was first used in meteorology, environment, logistics, national defense, agriculture and stockbreeding, devices automatically communicate and operate in accordance with varying situations. M2M system is applied to vehicles, specifically to device-to-device communication inside cars, vehicle-to-vehicle communication, communication between vehicles and traffic facilities and that between vehicles and surroundings. However, communication systems are characterized by potential intruders' attacks in transmission sections, which may cause serious safety problems if vehicles' operating system, control system and engine control parts are attacked. Thus, device-to-device secure communication has been actively researched. With a view to secure communication between vehicular devices, the present study drew on hash functions and complex mathematical formulae to design a protocol, which was then tested with Casper/FDR, a tool for formal verification of protocols. In brief, the proposed protocol proved to operate safely against a range of attacks and be effective in practical application.

A Modeling of Realtime Fuel Comsumption Prediction Using OBDII Data (OBDII 데이터 기반의 실시간 연료 소비량 예측 모델 연구)

  • This study presents a method for realtime fuel consumption prediction using real data collected from OBDII. With the advent of the era of self-driving cars, electronic control units(ECU) are getting more complex, and various studies are being attempted to extract and analyze more accurate data from vehicles. But since ECU is getting more complex, it is getting harder to get the data from ECU. To solve this problem, the firmware was developed for acquiring accurate vehicle data in this study, which extracted 53,580 actual driving data sets from vehicles from January to February 2019. Using these data, the ensemble stacking technique was used to increase the accuracy of the realtime fuel consumption prediction model. In this study, Ridge, Lasso, XGBoost, and LightGBM were used as base models, and Ridge was used for meta model, and the predicted performance was MAE 0.011, RMSE 0.017.

Study on Nozzle Type and Proper Discharge Pressure of Sprayer for Vehicle Disinfecting System (차량소독장치용 노즐형태와 분무기의 적정토출압력에 관한 연구)

  • The current disinfection method of vehicles being applied in South Korea has various shortcomings. So, the epidemic has generated continuously at livestock farms. It is very important to develop an effective disinfection system for reduction of the epidemic. And various basic data is required for this development. Therefore, this study was performed to identify the nozzle type and proper discharge pressure of sprayers. The experiment was conducted from January 10, 2012 until February 28, 2012. All the performance measurement experiments were repeated five times. The subjects of experiment were the A, B and C company's products. The sprayed capacity, angle of spray and the covering area ratio were measured for each product. As a result, the sprayed capacity, angle of spray and the covering area ratio were increased as the discharge pressure of the sprayer was increased. In conclusion, the conical shaped of the nozzle is considered more appropriate than V-shaped, and the proper discharge pressure is expected to be at least 20kg/㎠.

High-Risk Area for Human Infection with Avian Influenza Based on Novel Risk Assessment Matrix (위험 매트릭스(Risk Matrix)를 활용한 조류인플루엔자 인체감염증 위험지역 평가)

  • Over the last decade, avian influenza (AI) has been considered an emerging disease that would become the next pandemic, particularly in countries like South Korea, with continuous animal outbreaks. In this situation, risk assessment is highly needed to prevent and prepare for human infection with AI. Thus, we developed the risk assessment matrix for a high-risk area of human infection with AI in South Korea based on the notion that risk is the multiplication of hazards with vulnerability. This matrix consisted of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in poultry farms and the number of poultry-associated production facilities assumed as hazards of avian influenza and vulnerability, respectively. The average number of HPAI in poultry farms at the 229-municipal level as the hazard axis of the matrix was predicted using a negative binomial regression with nationwide outbreaks data from 2003 to 2018. The two components of the matrix were classified into five groups using the K-means clustering algorithm and multiplied, consequently producing the area-specific risk level of human infection. As a result, Naju-si, Jeongeup-si, and Namwon-si were categorized as high-risk areas for human infection with AI. These findings would contribute to designing the policies for human infection to minimize socio-economic damages.

Prevalence of Salmonella Species Isolated from Old Hen Delivery Trucks in Korea and Application of Disinfectant for the Reduction of Salmonella Contamination (국내 노계 운반 전용 차량에서의 살모넬라 오염율 및 차량소독에 따른 오염도 감소 효과)

  • Salmonella is closely related with human health of modern society which has concern increased in livestock goods consumption as well as give economic damage throughout the chicken industry such as farm, hatchery, slaughter house and processing plant. From 2007 to 2011, this study investigated Salmonella prevalence from 200 old hen delivery trucks which deliver old egg-laying hens and broiler breeders in Korea. The prevalence of Salmonella species was 38.0% in old hen delivery truck. Serogroup C1 was the most frequently detected serogroup of Salmonella, followed by the serogroups D1, C2 and B. A total of 25 serotypes were identified and Salmonella infantis was the most frequently isolated serotype. In addition, we applied disinfectant to old hen delivery truck for the reduction of Salmonella contamination. The disinfectant consists of formaldehyde, glutaladehyde and quaternary ammonium compound was applied to the trucks. Salmonella isolation rate was significantly decreased after disinfection from 38.0% to 7.5%. Disinfectant could not effectively reduce Salmonella contamination at a dilution of 1:200 which is recommended by manufacturer, but Salmonella isolation rate was significantly decreased at a dilution of 1:50. Since old hen delivery truck could be a potential vector to carry Salmonella into farms and abattoirs, chicken delivery truck should be disinfected thoroughly and sufficiently to control contamination of farms and abattoirs.

Evaluation of Biological Critical Control Points Using Escherichia coli Genotyping (Escherichia coli Genotype을 이용한 생물학적 Critical Control Point의 적합성 평가)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of biological critical control points using the genetic profile of Escherichia coli isolates from pork cutting plants. Samples were collected from carcasses, equipment (knife, table, glove, transport belt, boning and skinning machine), the environment (wall and floor), and meat cuts during the cutting process from two plants. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) was used to characterize the E. coli isolates. An identical genotype was detected from the carcasses, equipment, environment, and final meat cuts, and showed that the incoming carcasses, which were contaminated during transportation from slaughterhouses, were a major source of E. coli that was spread throughout processing. Also, consistent cross-contamination due to improper cleaning and disinfection procedures was another possibility. As a result, incoming carcasses and cleaning procedures should be considered critical control points in pork cutting plants, since a heating step is not used to inactivate microorganisms. Furthermore, the high rate (59.6%) of E. coli isolation indicates E. coli can be a good indicator in livestock processing plants even though it has genetic diversity.

  • 정부의 4대강 물 관리 종합대책에 따르면, 수계 전체 오염원중 비점오염원이 차지하는 오염부하가 22~37%에 달하는 것으로 추정되고 있다. 하지만 이러한 중요성에도 불구하고 농업지역 비점오염물질 저감을 위한 대책은 논과 밭과 같이 농경지에 관한 것이 대부분이었으며, 축산은 관리 기준의 가장 기초라고 할 수 있는 지목분류기준에 조차 별도의 기준이 없는 실정이다. 가축분뇨공공처리시설과 가축분뇨자원화시설은 가축분뇨를 처리하여야 하는 점오염원이지만, 차량 운반시 발생되는 일부 분뇨와 처리장 세척 시 발생되는 일부 오염물질들이 비점오염원으로 작용하고 있으며 이에 대한 관리가 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가축분뇨공공처리시설과 가축분뇨자원화시설에서 강우시 발생되는 유출특성을 분석하였으며, 이를 통해 가축분뇨처리시설의 비점오염 관리 처리시설 설치 시에 중요한 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 경상북도 영천시, 경기도 용인시, 전라북도 정읍시, 강원도 횡성군 등 축산밀집 지역을 대상으로 연 5회 강우시 모니터링을 실시하였으며, 모니터링자료를 바탕으로 유량가중평균농도(Event Mean Concentration, EMC)를 산정하였다. 영천시 가축분뇨자원화시설의EMC 산정결과 평균 BOD 5.1 mg/L, TN 6.90 mg/L, TP 0.91 mg/L로 산정되었으며, 용인시 개별처리농가의 경우 BOD 6.8 mg/L, TN 3.74 mg/L, TP 1.04 mg/L로, 횡성군 가축분뇨공공처리장의 경우 BOD 4.5 mg/L, TN 3.56 mg/L, TP 1.60 mg/L로, 정읍시 가축분뇨공공자원화시설의 경우 BOD 4.3 mg/L, TN 6.82 mg/L, TP 0.48 mg/L로 산정되었다. BOD, TN은 영천시 가축분뇨자원화시설에서 가장 높게 나타났고, TP의 경우 횡성군 축산폐수공공처리장의 경우 높게 나타났다. 유출특성을 분석한 결과 가축분뇨자원화시설의 경우 대부분 콘크리트 기반으로 조성된 토지위에 조성되어 강우시 유량은 급격하게 상승하며, 강우가 종료되면 바로 감소하는 불투수층 지역의 특성을 나타났다. 본 연구에서 분석된 유츨특성과 EMC는 비점오염 처리시설이나 가축분뇨공공처리시설 설치시 기초데이터로 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단되며, 향후 가축분뇨처리시설의 지속적인 모니터링과 모니터링지점 확대로 자원화시설 강우유출수의 DataBase화를 통한 지속적인 연구 및 관리가 되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • Spatial phenomena such as environment pollution, disease and the risk of spreading information need a rapid initial response to perceive spread event. Moving data perceive spread event through real-time processing and analysis. To process and analysis the event, spatial-temporal complex event processing is used. Previous spatialtemporal complex event processing is possible basis spatial operator but insufficient apply to design spatialtemporal complex event processing to perceive spatial phenomena of high complexity. This study proposed hierarchical spatio-temporal CEP design which will efficiently manage the fast growing incoming sensor data. The implementation of the proposed design is evaluated with GPS location data of moving vehicles which are used as the incoming data stream for identifying spatial events. The spatial component of existing CEP software engine has been extended during the implementation phase to broaden the capabilities of processing spatio-temporal events.

  • This study was conducted with funding from the government (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs) in 2018 with support from the Agricultural, Food, and Rural Affairs Agency, 318069-03-HD040, and is based on artificial intelligence-based HPAI spread analysis and patterning. The inflow of highly pathogenic avian influenza is coming through migratory birds from abroad, but it is not known exactly what pathways provide the farm with the cause of the infection. And the transition between farms from the generated farms only assumes that the vehicle is the main cause, and the main cause of the spread is not exactly known. Based on the call detailed records (CDR) data provided by KT, the study aims to see how people visiting migratory bird-watching sites, presumed to be the site of the outbreak, will flow through infected farms.

Effect of Crating Density and Weather in Transit on Behavior, Surface Temperature, and Respiration Rate in Broilers Considering Animal Welfare (동물복지를 고려한 육계 운송 시 운송 밀도와 계절에 따른 행동, 체표면 온도, 호흡수 평가)

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of seasonal differences and crating densities on the behavior, surface temperature, and respiration rate of broilers during transportation. A total of 600 broilers aged 35 days were divided into 10 treatment groups based on five crating densities (10.3, 11.5, 12.8, 14.1, 15.4 birds/m2) with two seasons (i.e. summer and winter) to give six replicates. Broilers were allocated to the crates (1.00 m × 0.78 m × 0.26 m) in a randomized design. The transportation distance was 20 km for 40 minutes (average 30-50 km/h) during the early morning. The results revealed that standing behavior of broilers during transportation was shown more frequently (P<0.05) in winter. Moreover, sitting behavior was significantly shown (P<0.05) more at densities of 14.1 birds/m2 and 15.4 birds/m2 compared to other treatments. Standing behavior was significantly shown more (P<0.05) in winter and lower crating density. Changes in broilers surface temperature after transportation were higher (P<0.05) in summer. However, surface temperature after transportation was not affected (P>0.05) by crating density, and interaction between seasonal differences and crating density. Respiration rate was higher (P<0.05) in summer. But there were no effects (P>0.05) on respiration rate based on crating density, and interaction between seasonal differences and crating density. Based on the results of the present study, broilers transportation is recommended in winter rather than summer to minimize the climatic stress, but further research is required to identify proper crating densities to improve the broilers welfare during transportation.
