Characteristics and Implications of Marseille's Euromméditerranée as an Integrated Urban Regeneration Project (통합형 도시재생사업으로서 마르세유 유로메디테라네의 특성과 시사점)

  • This study aims to investigate Marseille's Euromméditerranée project and provide policy implications for revitalizing domestic urban regeneration projects. First, we identify Euroméditerranée as a pivotal urban regeneration effort, executed by EPAEM-an organization fostering governance-driven project advancement through collaboration and investment from both central and local governments. This endeavor has significantly contributed to revitalizing Marseille, enriching the quality of life for its residents. Second, this urban regeneration project has the following notable features: consolidated approach with combination of full redevelopment and rehabilitation, integrated regeneration covering hardware-like physical regeneration and software-like economic, cultural, and environmental regeneration; government-type urban regeneration project structure. Finally, we suggest that policymakers should consider the economic scale in urban regeneration projects, national-level government organizations, and efficient public-private partnerships.

Azimuth Thruster Cavitation Test Apparatus Development and Cavitation Performance Study (아지무스 추진기 캐비테이션 시험 장치 개발 및 캐비테이션 성능 연구)

  • In order to investigate cavitation performance for the azimuth thruster in Large Cavitation Tunnel (LCT), the cavitation test apparatus was designed and manufactured. Generally the model scale is determined by the pod dynamometer with about 70mm diameter. Recently as ships with azimuth thruster have become bigger, the problem of the model ship installation was occurred. The model ship with pod dynamometer couldn't be installed in the LCT test section. The cavitation test apparatus and technique which can conduct the cavitation test without pod dynamometer were developed. The cavitation tests were conducted in torque identity method instead of thrust identity method. The target ship with azimuth thruster is 18K LNG bunkering vessel. As the full-scale ship test was conducted, the model cavitation tests were conducted at the same operating conditions. The fluctuating pressure levels of the full-scale ship were compared to those of the model tests. Another model cavitation test was conducted in the foreign institute and the cavitation observation results were compared to those of LCT. Through the comparison with the existing results, it is thought that the cavitation test for the azimuth thruster can be conducted in torque identity method.

Control Methodology for Acquiring Small Satellite Constellation Configurations Using Low-Thrust Propulsion (저추력 추진기를 활용한 초소형위성체계 배치형상 획득을 위한 제어 방법론)

  • Currently, the Korean military is promoting a small satellite system project to establish a command and control system that can quickly respond to various threats from all directions, not only from North Korea. In this paper, we present a nonlinear control law to acquire the geometry of a small cluster satellite deployment using a low-thrust electric propulsion system, the Hall thruster. The control law is obtained by applying the general Lyapunov's control theory and analytical solution for the on-off control of the electric thruster, and it is a technique that can effectively deploy the orbital configuration of the satellite constellation by controlling only the semi-major axis of the six elements of the orbit. In this study, the stability of the developed control law is verified and the results are analyzed for application to a very small satellite system.

On the Crabbing Tests of Cruise Vessel Equipped with Bow Thrusters and POD System (Bow Thruster가 있는 POD 추진 크루즈선의 Crabbing 시험)

  • International Towing Tank Conference (ITTC) recommended verifying a ship's ability to move transversely at zero forward speed without altering heading by a crabbing test. In sea trial, all available propellers/rudders/thrusters should be used to find the maximum possible transverse speed. For estimating crabbing ability in the design stage, tests to estimate possible swaying force and yawing moment range using all available propellers/rudders/thrusters are conducted. By butterfly diagram, which compares possible swaying force and yawing moment range with external swaying force and yawing moment by wind, a ship's crabbing ability can be estimated. In this study, model tests of a cruise vessel equipped with bow thrusters and POD system were conducted to find out her crabbing ability in the design stage. To mimic quay condition, a model quay-wall was set in the towing tank.

  • 추진기와 타가 놓여있는 선미부에서의 난류 유동에 의한 저항을 증가시키는 요인이 집중되어 있다. 트랜섬 선미를 가지고 있는 선박의 경우 선미선형에 의한 저항의 형태가 달라진다. $Re=2.8{\times}10^5$의 균일흐름에서, 선저와 트랜섬이 이루는 각도를 각각 $45^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$로 변형하여 선미선형을 선정하였으며, 자유 수면에서 모델의 하부까지의 깊이는 동일하게 적용하였다. 선저가 끝단에서 트랜섬 선미형상에 의해 급격한 각도를 이루는 지점에서 상하로 맥동하는 유동특성이 나타나며, 각도가 증가 할수록 와의 형태가 작아져 난류의 발생이 감소하였다.

소형항공기용 터보프롭엔진의 성능모사에 관한 연구

  • 소, 중형 상업용 항공기나 초등 훈련기용으로 많이 이용되고 있는 터보프롭엔진의 성능해석을 위한 프로그램을 개발하였다. 대상엔진으로는 국내 최초의 초등훈련기인 KT-1의 추진기관인 PT6A-62엔진을 선정하였고 프로그램의 검증을 위하여 지상정지조건에서의 성능, 고도에 따른 성능 및 비행마하수에 따른 성능, 그리고 고도와 비행마하수를 동시에 고려한 성능 등을 상용 프로그램인 GASTURB 및 제작사에서 제시한 성능데이터와 그 해석결과를 비교하였다. 개발된 프로그램을 이용하여 비행마하수 0.2, 100% 동력터빈 회전수에서 가스발생기 회전수를 75%에서 105%까지 5% 간격으로 나누어 부분부하 성능해석을 수행하였다. 또한 연료유량의 변화에 대한 천이상태 성능해석도 수행하였다.

  • 전기도금 공정에서 발생하는 수소취성은 다량의 수소이온이 강제품에 흡수되어 취화되는 현상을 나타내는 것으로 인장강도 200KSI 이상이 요구되는 항공기용 또는 로켓트 추진기관용 초고강도강에서 크게 문제가 되고 있다. 본 내용은 전기 카드뮴도금 작업시에 발생되는 수소취성에 대하여 간략하게 기술하고. 이 수소취성을 제거하는 방법 및 수소취성을 저게 생성시키는 저취성도금인 Cd-Ti 합금도금의 공정개발 결과를 보고한다. 실험결과에 의하면 도금층의 Ti함량은 0.1-0.7%이며 Ti의 공석에 의하여 Cd 도금에 비하여 저취성을 나타냈으며, Cd-Ti합도금의 내식성은 상대평가인 염수분무시험 결과 Cd도금과 비교하여 소재표면의 부식을 일으키는 붉은녹발생까지의 시간이 500시간으로 보다 높은 내식성을 나타내었다. 그리고 Cd-Ti 합금의 공정표준 및 Ti농도의 관리방법 등을 정리하여 보고한다.

A Study on the Bow Shape of Ice Breaking Vessel (빙해선박의 선수 선형에 관한 연구)

  • The operation scenarios, types of ice, draft and propulsion system are important design point on the beginning stage of the ice breaking vessel. The concept of hull form in ice breaking vessel has to compromise the performance according to the operation route especially if ship is operating in ice and ice free water. The several hull forms were proposed to optimize the capability of the vessel in this paper. The effect of hull form according to type of ice is also discussing and explaining the ice resistance in each ice type as like pack ice, brash ice, level ice, rubble ice and ice ridge. The draft effect was examined and propulsion system for example FPP(Fixed pitch propeller), CPP(Controllable pitch propeller) and POD system was compared focusing on the propulsion efficiency.

  • Post swirl stator is an energy saving device to recover rotational energy of the propeller. To optimize the performance of post swirl stator in container vessels, computational fluid dynamics using body force method was introduced. A commercial code Fluent was used in conjunction with body force distributed on the surface of actuator disk which is located in the propeller plane to optimize pitch angle of the post swirl stator blade. This study showed that CFD is an important tool to simulate flow behind ship with propeller, rudder and post swirl stator.

  • The cavitation noised of high-speed propellers was experimentally studied in KRISO cavitation tunnel. In this paper, a series of cavitation noise tests were carried out for five propellers with various sections and loading distributions. From the experimental results, the noise characteristics of various cavitation pattern and the noise performance of the propellers were analyzed. There can be used for optimum design for high-speed propellers.
