  • Controlled low strength material(CLSM) has been developed using variety of material such as excavated soil, industrial by-product and industrial waste. But theses research limited at laboratory test and failed at commercialization. So in this paper evaluates CLSM used excavated soil characteristics such as flowability, bleeding rate, early strength for following process and 28day strength for re-excavatability. Also, various mix proportion of CLSM by water-binder ratio and soil-binder ratio were evaluated in laboratory. And derive the optimized CLSM mix proportion for using at field application test by movable batch plant. After applying CLSM at trench, evaluate core sample strength and excavatability by shovel, pickax and excavator for verify re-excavation. Furthermore, measure the level change after casting CLSM to inspect subsidence stability. As results of these assessments, not only confirmed the characteristics of CLSM at field but the fillability around pipe and subsidence stability.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the antioxidative effect of Kochujang seasoning sauce with the addition of fruit and vegetable extract (FVE) for pork Bulgogi, as well as to establish the optimum mixture ratio of ingredients using mixture experimental design (MED). During 5 months of storage at $-25^{\circ}C$, the thiobarbituric acid (TBA) values of the seasoned pork containing soy sauce (control), Kochujang added group (KG) and Kochujang and FVE added group (KFVEG) were remarkably lower than that of unseasoned pork. Among the seasoned porks, the antioxidative effect of KG was much higher than the control. Moreover, TBA values of KFVEG were significantly lower than those of KG. Therefore, the lipid oxidation stability of seasoned pork Bulgogi was improved by the addition of Kochujang, red pepper powder and FVE into the seasoning sauce. When Kochujang was used in seasoning sauce, the preference scores of pork Bulgogi increased with the increasing amount of red pepper powder and FVE. The optimum mixture ratios of seasoning sauce for pork Bulgogi established by the MED were Kochujang 0.04, red pepper powder 0.20, FVE 0.39 and water 0.37.

  • In this study, we made Sulgidduk with commercialized dried nonglutinous rice flour and different levels of soybean curd. For physical properties of the bean curd-Sulgidduk, its water content was increased significantly with a growing addition of soybean curd. In chromaticity, its L value(brightness) and a value(redness) were decreased significantly with more bean curd while b value(yellowness) went up in Sulgidduk with a large amount of rice flour but went down significantly in the Sulgidduk with a small amount of it. Its hardness of texture was found to be the highest in the Sulgidduk with the most dried nonglutinous rice flour and it tended to be higher with more rice flour and less soybean curd. For cohesiveness, it was recorded to be the highest in the Sulgidduk without soybean curd and showed a tendency of decreasing by adding the bean curd but increased later significantly. In addition, its springiness and brittleness became larger with addition of more dried nonglutinous rice flour. From these results, the best ratio of the bean curd-Sulgidduk to increase nutrition and absorption and to satisfy physical and sensory properties, was 420 g to 500 g of soybean curd to dried nonglutinous rice flour. Moreover, it was considered to decline the calorie of Sulgidduk by adding soybean curd as a material and to contribute to its commercialization by extending storage and preservation time of soybean curd with a short expiration date.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the optimal mix design of the sound absorption material that is made from perlite and various binder systems for noise barrier wall. The polymer cement slurry which is made from two types of polymer dispersions, and silicone type inorganic material are used as binder. The test specimens are prepared with various polymer cement ratios, binder ratios, and tested for strengths, freezing and thawing and sound absorption performance by the tube and the reverberation room methods. From the test results, the difference of sound absorption coefficient by the tube method is a little recognized, however, noise reduction coefficient (NRC) of test specimens bound by the polymer cement slurry is in the ranges of 0.48 to 0.51. They are a little higher than those bound by cement only, and are lower values than recommended value of 0.7 by the Ministry of Environment. However, the sound absorption coefficient of test specimens at low frequency range of 250 to 500 Hz by reverberation room method shows very high values as 0.84 to 1.00, and 0.57 to 0.77 at the high frequency. The test specimens with polymer cement slurry binder have a good balance between performance and cost, and have proper properties in strengths, freezing and thawing resistance as sound absorption material for noise barrier wall. It is apparent that the good sound absorption material can be produced according to the optimum mix design that is recommended from this study.

  • Since the decommissioning of nuclear plants and facilities, large quantities of slightly contaminated concrete waste have been generated. In Korea, the decontamination and decommissioning of the KRR-1, 2 at the KAERI have been under way. And concrete waste was generated about 800 drums of 200 L. The conditioning of concrete waste is needed for final disposal. The concrete waste is conditioned as follows: mortar using coarse and fine aggregates is filled void space after concrete rubble pre-placement into 200 L drum. Thus, this research has developed an optimizing mixing ratio of concrete waste, water, and cement and has evaluated characteristics of a cement waste form to meet the requirements specified in disposal site specific waste acceptance criteria. The results obtained from compressive strength test, leaching test, thermal cycling test of cement waste forms conclude that the concrete waste, water, and cement have been suggested to have 75:15:10wt% as the optimized mixing ratio. Also, the compressive strength of cement waste form was satisfied that including fine powder up to maximum 40wt% in concrete debris wastes about 75%. As a result of scale-up test, the mixture of concrete waste, water, and cement is 75:10:15wt% meet the satisfied compressive strength because the free water increased with and increased in particle size.

  • Lab scale batch and column tests were performed to investigate the treatability of petroleum contaminated soil using the in-situ soil flushing method. The pyrex column (4.5$\times$25 cm) was used to investigate optimal washing agent, surfactant concentration, mixing ratio, and inlet velocity. The miked surfactant of $POE_{14}$ and SDS were determined as ideal systems for the batch tests. From the results of preliminary tests, mixed surfactant was found to be more harmful for microorganisms. So $POE_{5}$ and $POE_{14}$ were chosen as the surfactant system for the batch study. The washing efficiency for the diesel contaminated soil was increased until 1 %, and decreased after l %. When applied as selected mixed surfactant, the ideal mixed ratio was recognized as 1:1. Therefore we selected miked surfactant $POE_{5}$ and $POE_{14}$, surfactant concentration 1%, and mixed ratio 1:1 for the remediation of diesel contaminated soil. In column tests, the total removal efficiency was improved as the flux of washing agent was increased. At the same pore volume, small flux showed better removal efficiency.

  • The characteristics of flow and strength of CLSM depend on the combination ratio including the fly ash, pond ash, cement, water quantity and etc. However, it is very difficult to draw the mechanism about the flow, strength and the mixing ratio of each components. Therefore, the method of calculation drawing the flow about the component ratio of CLSM and compression strength value is needed for the valid practical use of CLSM. To verify the efficiency of artificial neural network, new data which were not used for establishing the model were predicted and compared with the results of laboratory tests. In this research, it was used to evaluate the learning efficiency of the artificial neural network model and the prediction ability by changing the node number of hidden layer, learning rate, momentum, target system error and hidden layer. By using the results, the optimized artificial neural network model which is suitable for a flow and compressive strength estimate of CLSM was determined.

  • Many problems are occurred by using industrial by-product and municipal solid waste in the cement manufacturing process. The main components of chlorine by-pass dust generated by the use of the wastes are $K^+$, $Cl^-$, and a slight amount of heavy metals is also contained. In terms of waste recycling, it is necessary to eliminate the heavy metals. Therefore, in this study, the experiments for the removal of heavy metals from KCl which was produced by chlorine by-pass dust were conducted. In order to find optimum conditions for the removal of heavy metals, we have controlled the amount of water and precipitator. The type and concentration of heavy metals in KCl were analyzed. The concentration of heavy metals decreased as amount of precipitator increased. The heavy metals such as Pb, Cd, and As were not detected in dust A and B, when the mixing ratios between dust A(B) and water were controlled to be 1:2 (1:2, 1:3.5) with the addition of 3% precipitator (NaOCl).
