Combined Treatment of Acorn Pomace Extract, Fumaric Acid, and Mild Heat for Inactivation of Microorganisms on Red Chard (도토리박 추출물과 푸마르산 및 중온 열 병합처리에 의한 적근대의 미생물 제어 효과)

  • In this study, acorn pomace extract (APE) was developed as a natural chemical sanitizer and substitute for chlorine-based sanitizers such as sodium hypochlorite containing harmful substances. Antimicrobial activities of APE and its combined treatments with fumaric acid (FA) and mild heat against Listeria monocytogenes inoculated on red chard were examined. Among the treatments, combined treatment of 0.5% APE at $50^{\circ}C$ and 0.5% FA was the most effective, causing reduction of L. monocytogenes populations by 3.36 log CFU/g compared to the control. After combined treatment, populations of aerobic mesophilic bacteria in the red chard decreased by 2.89 log CFU/g during storage at $4^{\circ}C$ for 8 days compared to the control. Regarding color changes in red chard upon combined treatment, there was no significant change among the red chard samples. These results indicate that combined treatment of APE, FA, and mild heat can improve microbial safety of red chard without affecting quality such as color during storage.

  • Recently, the Open-Development-Tool-Environment becomes a basic requirement of RTOS (Real Time Operating System) for embedded systems with restricted memory and CPU power in order to develop applications effectively. A remote interactive shell is one of the basic software components which makes users develop, test and control softwares without burdening target systems. In this paper, we have implemented the remote interactive shell with the following functions : loading object modules, spawning and manipulating tasks facilities thru a remote host. Comparing information reference methods with nonredundant overhead, we have achieved the system with easy maintenance. The shell has been developed with Q-PLUS RTOS under ARM EBSA285 target board and NT host.

  • GaP는 가시광선 발광다이오드을 얻을 수 있는 적절한 재료중의 하나로 해당영역의 파장에 대하여 높은 양자효율을 얻을 수 있고, 깊은 준위 재결합이 없기 때문에 GaP 녹색 및 As 첨가한 GaAsP 적색 LED 에 적용할 수 있습니다. 또한, 상온에서 2.2 eV 에 해당하는 넓은 에너지 밴드갭을 가지고 있으므로, 소음이 없는 자외선 검출기에도 적합합니다. 이 물질에 대한 소자들은 기존에 GaP 기판을 사용하였습니다. 최근, GaP 와 격자상수가 비슷한 Si 기판을 활용하여 그 위에 성장하는 방법에 대한 관심이 많아졌습니다. Si는 물리적 및 화학적으로 안정하고 딱딱한 소재이며 대면적 기판을 쉽게 얻을 수 있어 전자 기기 및 대규모 집적 회로의 좋은 소재입니다. Si 와 대조적으로 GaP은 깨지기 쉬운 재료이며 GaP 기판은 Si와 같은 대면적 기판을 얻을 수 없습니다. 이러한 문제의 한 가지 해결책은 Si 기판위에 GaP 층의 성장입니다. GaP 과 Si의 조합은 현재의 광전소자 들에 더하여 더 많은 응용프로그램들을 가능하게 할 것입니다. 그러나, Si 기판위에 GaP 성장 시 삼차원적 성장 및 역위상 경계면과 같은 문제점들이 발생하므로 질이 높고 균일한 결정의 GaP 를 얻기가 어렵습니다. 따라서, Si 에 GaP 의 성장시 초기 단계를 제어하는 성장 기술이 필요합니다. 본 연구에서는, 유기금속화학증착법을 이용하여 Si 기판위에 양질의 GaP를 얻을 수 있는 최적의 성장조건을 얻고자 합니다. 실험 조건은 Si에 GaP의 에피택셜 성장의 초기 단계에 영향을 주는 V/III 비율, 성장압력, 기판방향 등을 가변하는 조건으로 진행하였습니다. V/III 비율은 100~6400, 성장 압력은 76~380 Torr로 진행하였고, Si 기판은 just(001)과 2~6도 기울어진 (001) 기판을 사용하였습니다.

Blind Adaptive Receiver based on Constant Modulus for Downlink MC-CDMA Systems (하향링크 MC-CDMA 시스템을 위한 CM 기반의 블라인드 적응 수신기)

  • In this paper, we consider a constant modulus (CM) based blind adaptive receiver design for downlink multi-carrier code-division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems employing simple space-time block coding (STBC). In the paper, filter weight vectors used for the detection of the transmitted symbols are partitioned into its subvectors and then, special relations among the optimal subvectors minimizing the CM metric are derived. Using the special relations, we present a modified CM metric and propose a new blind adaptive stochastic-gradient CM algorithm (SG-CMA) by minimizing the modified CM metric. The proposed blind adaptive SG-CMA has faster convergence rate than the conventional SG-CMA because the filter weight vectors of the proposed scheme are updated in the region of satisfying the derived special relations. Computer simulation results are given to verify the superiority of the proposed SG-CMA.

  • 무경운 농법은 경작지의 토양을 교란시키지 않고 작물을 재배하는 방법으로, 토양의 물리성 개선과 토양 침식 예방, 생산비 절감 등의 효과가 있어 전 세계적인 인정을 받고 있는 농업기술이다. 그러나 아직까지 무경운의 재배 지속 기간 등 많은 의문이 제기되고 있으며, 국내 환경조건에 맞는 실험적인 연구가 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 최적관리기법의 하나인 무경운(No-till)을 적용한 밭의 오염물질 저감효과를 장기적으로 살펴보고자 2011년부터 2014년까지 4년간의 모니터링을 실시하였다. 무경운 농법을 적용하기 위하여 동계피복작물(밀, 보리)을 재배작물 정식하기 전해 겨울에 파종하여 이듬해 6월 말 수확하였다. 이후 7월에서 8월 사이 재배작물(들깨, 무)을 정식하였다. 시비는 2011년에는 축산퇴비, 2012년에는 축산액비 그리고 2013년과 2014년에는 화학비료를 시비하였으며, 매년 경운과 무경운의 시비량은 동일하게 처리하였다. 유출 시험포의 면적은 $150m^2$(폭 5 m, 경사장 30 m)이며, 8개(경사도 3% 4개, 경사도 8% 4개)의 시험포를 조성하여 각각 2개씩 경운(관행)과 무경운을 적용하였다. 모니터링은 재배작물(들깨, 무) 정식 이후부터 작물 수확 전까지 강우사상에 대하여 이루어졌으며, 연구기간동안 총 13회의 강우 사상에 대하여 조사를 실시하였다. 경운대비 무경운 시험포의 평균 오염부하 삭감율을 분석한 결과 경사도 3% 시험포의 경우 BOD는 35.1%, $COD_{Cr}$은 37.4% 그리고 영양염류인 TN과 TP는 각각 36.9%와 33.5%가 삭감된 것으로 조사되었으며, 경사도 8% 시험포의 경우 BOD가 36.4%, $COD_{Cr}$은 45.8%, TN과 TP는 각각 45.5%와 40.6%가 삭감된 것으로 나타났다. 우리나라에서는 경운(관행) 농법이 영농관리 차원에서 대부분 이용되고 있으나, 본 연구 결과에 기초할 때 무경운 농법으로 영농할 경우 강우유출수 및 하천으로 유입되는 비점오염부하를 효과적으로 제어할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • This paper suggest away to maintain constant power through trolley wire by transferring increased line voltage to the AC main line while changing the mode from Converter(Forward) to Inverter(Reverse) when the line voltage is increased due to regenerative power when the train stops, This paper suggests a Double Converter DC substation that can create regenerative power when the train stops reusable. We also proposed using a simulation tool, the optimal Thyrister firing angle that can minimize the undershoot and overshoot that occurs when transferring the mode from Converter to Inverter for quality improvement of DC voltage in the Double Converter in the DC substation from the Busan Urban Subway.

  • Interactive-typed devices and contents that have been often applied in the field of entertainment and game are the technology that allows you to maximize the enjoyment and participation of users through the interaction of each. In this paper, we designed an interactive-typed smartphone app that is based on the Android platform, implemented the wearable Bluetooth device to control via a interactive interface with a vibration sensor and three-axis acceleration sensor. We tested the functionality and 3-axis motion's operability by using smartphone app, interface interactive-typed device that has been developed, prove useful as a wearable Bluetooth device that has the convenience of the user. Further, it is shown that by implementing the optimized protocol of the sensor data transfer over Bluetooth, it is possible to reduce the malfunction of the content of the smart phone.

  • Recently, smart sensors are used in various environments, and the implementation of ad-hoc sensor networks (ASNs) is a hot research topic. Unfortunately, traditional sensor network routing algorithms focus on specific control issues, and they can't be directly applied to the ASN operation. In this paper, we propose a new routing protocol by using the Q-learning technology, Main challenge of proposed approach is to extend the life of ASNs through efficient energy allocation while obtaining the balanced system performance. The proposed method enhances the Q-learning effect by considering various environmental factors. When a transmission fails, node penalty is accumulated to increase the successful communication probability. Especially, each node stores the Q value of the adjacent node in its own Q table. Every time a data transfer is executed, the Q values are updated and accumulated to learn to select the optimal routing route. Simulation results confirm that the proposed method can choose an energy-efficient routing path, and gets an excellent network performance compared with the existing ASN routing protocols.

  • In this paper, we describe the Solar Car, Woongbi, which was created to participate in the World Solar Challenge(WSC) at the team NeulHaeRang of Korea National University of Transportation. The WSC is the world's largest solar car racing competition and has a separate automobile regulation and must be manufactured to meet the regulations. Therefore, the key point of the solar car design is to optimize the energy efficiency based on the regulations. The solar car's drive system consists of a solar array to convert solar energy into electric energy, a maximum power point tracker (MPPT) controller to track the converted electric energy to maximum output power, a battery to store the produced electric energy, a BLDC (Brushless DC) motor for driving the vehicle by converting energy into mechanical energy, and a motor controller for controlling the BLDC. The optimal design methods for solar energy conversion and electric driving system of battery, motor are presented in this paper.

High Temperature Drying of Pitch Pine Lumber (리기다소나무 고온건조)

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate the applicability of high temperature drying to pitch pine (Pinus rigida) lumber, especially intended for use as lamina of structural glued laminated timber (glulam), to enhance the efficient utilization and provide added-value to that species. The high temperature schedule and drying procedures utilized were shown to be reasonable for drying glulam lamina due to the occurrence of small moisture gradients, minimal residual drying stress, and low warpage. Through preliminary tests, it was confirmed that residual resin at lamina surfaces did not adversely affect the gluing process. However, quantitative analysis of resin is required for developing a method to constrain the occurrence of pitch trouble with respect to decreasing long-term adhesive and finish durability of glulam in use after manufacturing. The final moisture content of high temperature dried lamina was much lower than target moisture content and discoloration was more severe than anticipated. In a further study, it will be necessary to determine the optimal drying conditions, such as temperature, humidity, drying time, and top load restraint level, which could best control discoloration, warpage, and moisture content of the lamina, while minimizing fuel expense.
