  • In this study, soy milk jellys with medicinal herbs (MH) composites showing cognitive effects were prepared and their characteristics were examined. Eight kinds of medicinal herbs were extracted with hot water and added to soy milk based on their contents. Medicinal herbs showed cognitive effects, namely promoting acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition. In the preparation of soy milk jellys containing MH extracts of various contents (0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%), pH of all groups significantly (p<0.05) decreased with increasing MH extracts compared to the control group. The brix of the soy milk jellys was the highest in the 5% content of MH extracts among all groups. The "a" and "b" values of soy milk jellys increased with the content of MH extracts, while the "L" value decreased adding to the content of MH extracts compared to the control. The hardness, gumminess, and chewiness of soy milk jellys were improved the most by the addition of 15~20% MH extracts, while the fracturability, adhesiveness, springiness, cohesiveness, and resilience of soy milk jelly was not significantly different (p<0.05) among all groups. Through a sensory evaluation, it was revealed that the taste, texture, overall preference, flavor, and sweetness of soy milk jellys was not significantly different (p<0.05) among all groups. Therefore, since the addition of 20% MH extracts did not significantly alter the sensory evaluation, it can usually be adjusted to make soy milk jellys with cognitive effects.

  • The increase in the number of private automobiles has incurred various traffic problems. Globally, studies on MaaS(Mobility as a Service) has already been initiated to mobilize the use of public transportation in reducing private passenger cars in roads. This study aims to analyze the passenger's optimal route considering the transfer between different transportation modes through simulation, and analyze the effect of available route through the connected transportation modes. Sejong Special Self-Governing City was chosen as the study area due to its extensive transportation network. As a result of the analysis, the predominant obtainable route is derived either from using public transportation (i.e. bus and subway) only or by bicycle. However, it is also possible to use the car sharing and public bicycle to reach their final destination efficiently when paths that can be traversed were more scrutinized. When various transportation information and location-based services are introduced in smart phone applications, they can provide very useful information to passengers, and also promote social problems such as traffic congestion and environmental issues in the future.

  • Flying net should be installed on every 3 or 4 construction floor from 8m above ground according to the rule. In the apartment housing construction, flying net installation work has been recognized the most dangerous work among the whole works because a small mistake of labors might make their death accident. Sub-contractors specialized in flying net have been developing various flying net types. However, most works of installing flying net as working with the developed system are performed outside the apartment housing, so that the risk of fall in works of installing supports and unfolding net is still high. Furthermore, as using the previously developed flying net labors might bump into the frame or the wire rope for supporting so that it makes secondary accidents. The objective of this research is to produce the proto-type of anti-collision flying net system based on the result of problem analysis on the installation and detachment process and suggest the improved anti-collision flying net system, which is able to improve safety and field applicability by conducting field experiment and analyzing performance.

  • In this study, the theoretical method and the finite element analysis were designed in parallel to fabricate basic research data on the production of tool horn for cutting machine with ultrasonic vibration energy. In order to perform high-performance ultrasonic cutting, it is necessary to vibrate only with longitudinal vibration instead of transverse vibration. In order to efficiently transmit the mechanical vibration energy, the maximum amplitude should be generated at the output portion. Therefore, the tool horn must be designed so that the excitation frequency of the oscillator and the natural frequency of the tool horn are the same. In order to design the resonance of the tool horn, there are a theoretical approach using the one-dimensional wave equation and a method of reflecting the finite element analysis result to the design model. In this study, the approximate dimensions of the tool horn are first determined through the one- Based on the results of the finite element analysis, the optimal model was selected and reflected in the final shape of the tool horn. We will use this information as the basic data of actual tool horn for cutting, and will compare the production and experimental data with the contents of this research.

  • In this paper, we propose design of hardware based on a high speed digital signal processor (DSP) and a field programmable gate array (FPGA) for real-time suppression of fixed pattern noise (FPN) using hardware neural networks (HNN) in cooled infrared focal plane array (IRFPA) imaging system FPN appears a limited operation by temperature in observable images which applies to non-uniformity correction for infrared detector. These have very important problems because it happen serious problem for other applications as well as degradation for image quality in our system Signal processing architecture for our system operates reference gain and offset values using three tables for low, normal, and high temperatures. Proposed method creates virtual tables to separate for overlapping region in three offset tables. We also choose an optimum tenn of temperature which controls weighted values of HNN using mean values of pixels in three regions. This operates gain and offset tables for low, normal, and high temperatures from mean values of pixels and it recursively don't have to do an offset compensation in operation of our system Based on experimental results, proposed method showed improved quality of image which suppressed FPN by change of temperature distribution from an observational image in real-time system.

  • This study was intended to develop a value-added and functional sauce with addition of Chungkukjang powder. This study was conducted as the following procedure. 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40% of Chungkukjang powder was respectively added to make different Bechamel sauces. And then, physical testing (moisture, color value, viscosity, salinity, spreadability and pH) and sensory testing (a quantitative descriptive analysis and an acceptance test) were performed. After that, the correlation between the physical testing and the sensory testing was investigated to choose an optimal mixture ratio. The study results are presented as follows. As the addition percentage of Chungkukjang powder increased, a-value, b-value, salinity, spreadability, and pH significantly increased (p<0.001), but moisture content, L-value and viscosity decreased. The QDA result indicated that, regarding color intensity(5.89), Chungkukjang flavor(5.32) and Chungkukjang taste(6.26), the 40% addition group had the highest value, and that, regarding thickness(6.42), milk flavor(5.00), oily taste(5.21), mouth feel(5.32), the control group had the highest value. As a result, as the addition percentage of Chungkukjang powder increased, color intensity, Chungkukjang flavor, and Chungkukjang taste increased, but thickness, milk flavor, oily taste, and mouth feel decreased. According to the result of acceptance test, the 20% addition group had the highest value in terms of appearance, flavor, taste, glossy and overall acceptance. As shown earlier, it is considered that proper addition of Chungkukjang powder positively affects the overall acceptance, and that the 20% addition of Chungkukjang powder is most suitable to improve the sensory and physical quality-characteristics of Bechamel sauce.

  • In multimedia information retrieval, multimedia data are represented as vectors in high dimensional space. To search these vectors effectively, a variety of indexing methods have been proposed. However, the performance of these indexing methods degrades dramatically with increasing dimensionality, which is known as the dimensionality curse. To resolve the dimensionality curse, dimensionality reduction methods have been proposed. They map feature vectors in high dimensional space into the ones in low dimensional space before indexing the data. This paper proposes a method for dimensionality reduction based on a function approximating the Euclidean distance, which makes use of the norm and angle components of a vector. First, we identify the causes of the errors in angle estimation for approximating the Euclidean distance, and discuss basic directions to reduce those errors. Then, we propose a novel method for dimensionality reduction that composes a set of subvectors from a feature vector and maintains only the norm and the estimated angle for every subvector. The selection of a good reference vector is important for accurate estimation of the angle component. We present criteria for being a good reference vector, and propose a method that chooses a good reference vector by using Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. Also, we define a novel distance function, and formally prove that the distance function lower-bounds the Euclidean distance. This implies that our approach does not incur any false dismissals in reducing the dimensionality effectively. Finally, we verify the superiority of the proposed method via performance evaluation with extensive experiments.

  • Recently, a lot of local autonomous entities are promoting Ubiquitous City(U-City) Construction by integrating Information Communication Technology(ICT) with city development, and also internationally, a lot of cities are making efforts to develop U-City to intensify a city's competitive strength and improve life quality of city dwellers. In keeping with such a stream of the times, each local autonomous entity and project developer are developing a lot of methodologies to establish optimal U-City in corresponding cities and also inquiring into a variety of development procedures, such as connecting existing urban development methods with information establishment methods. The method used usually is to establish Information strategy Plan(ISP) for a city which will be developed through consulting in the stage of city development planning. ISP is to establish vision & strategy for building the ubiquitous city and is a methodology including city vision, strategy, goal, and implementation method, etc. However, due to a lot of variables, such as a variety of city environment, establishment period, budget, information technology, and etc., it is difficult to contain establishment plans for every occasion in a similar method, in reality. Therefore, it is naturally necessary to suggest plans for city vision & strategy, and selection of element technology/service. Thus, this paper suggests models for vision & strategy establishment of U-City and suggests Top-Down Approach and Bottom-Up Approach method as a plan for U-City establishment. In addition, this paper analyzes general promotion methodologies for constructing U-City and analyzes how these two strategic methods [Top-Down Approach and Bottom-Up Approach] for city vision establishment are composed in such a methodology, to define and analyze its constituent plan.

  • This study was carried out to investigate site and soil factors affecting growth of root collar diameter (RCD) and height (HT) of Larix kaempferi trees planted in harvested Larix kaempferi plantations. We were found effect factors of growth of RCD and HT using 15 of site and soil factors. And then we made the growth estimated equations of RCD and HT of 6-years-old L. kaempferi tree by the derived affecting factors. The growth of RCD was affected in order of available phosphorus (+), effective soil depth (+), organic matter (-), sand separate in soil (-), pH (-), and elevation (-), and the coefficient of determination ($R^2$) of the growth estimated equation of RCD was 0.51. The growth of HT was affected in order of effective soil depth (+), elevation (-) slope (-), and available phosphorus (+) and the $R^2$ of the growth estimated equation of HT was 0.46. The growth of RCD and HT were commonly affected by effective soil depth, available phosphorus, and elevation. Therefore, planting site of L. kaempferi should be considered the mainly effect factors in order to keep better early growth based on the current study.
