Development of a Wind Turbine Simulator based on RTDS and MG set (RTDS와 MG set을 이용한 풍력 터빈 시뮬레이터 개발)

  • 본 논문은 풍속이 변화하는 상황에서 풍력 발전 시스템의 동작을 실시간으로 모의할 수 있는 시뮬레이터의 구성과 실험 결과를 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하고자하는 풍력 발전 시스템 시뮬레이터는 실시간 시뮬레이터인 RTDS(Real Time Digital Simulator)와 11kW의 AC 서보 시스템을 포함하는 전동기-발전기 실험 장치(MG set, Motor-Generator Set)로 구현되었다. RTDS는 풍속 모델과 블레이드, 터빈, 발전기를 포함하는 풍력발전 시스템 모델을 실시간으로 모의하며 MG-set은 실시간으로 모의된 풍력 발전 시스템의 물리적 상태를 구현한다. 풍력 발전 시스템 모델의 동작점 궤적과 최대출력점추종(Maximum Power Point Tracking)제어에 의한 풍력 발전 시스템 시뮬레이터의 운전 결과의 제시를 통해 시뮬레이터의 유용성을 검증하였다. 본 논문에서 제시된 시뮬레이터는 상용 실시간 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 간단한 소프트웨어의 수정을 통해 다양한 모델의 풍력 반전 시스템을 모의할 수 있으며 다양한 실험 조건에서 과도상태 및 정상상태 특성 실험이 가능하므로 풍력 발전 시스템의 발전기 특성 평가, 전력 변환 장치의 성능 시험 등에 활용이 가능하다.

  • The Photovoltaic systems with solar cell way Provide electrical energy to the utility/consumers, which are becoming one of the promising energy substitutes. The photovoltaic system can be classified into two types : One is the stand-alone type, and the other utility interactive one. The latter can return the generated power to the utility, but the former can't. The utility interactive systems are so valuable for peak power cut in summer season. In the photovoltaic systems the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) has been studied for the increase of the generating energy of the photovoltaic system. There are many control methods of MPPT, but a new MPPT algorithm is proposed to overcome the disadvantages of the conventional ones, and as a result the proposed method enables to improve both tracking ability and generating efficiency of photo voltaic system without DC chopper.

  • 본 논문은 다수의 독립형 태양광 발전 시스템의 디지털 제어에 대해 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 에너지를 발생하는 태양전지, 최대전력점을 추종(MPPT)하도록 하는 Boost컨버터, 부하에 적합한 준위의 전압을 공급하는 Buck컨버터로 구성되어 있으며, 태양전지 어레이를 분할하여 제어하므로 Boost컨버터가 태양전지 어레이가 분할 된 만큼 추가된다. 제안된 방법은 디지털 제어기의 제어변수 값 들을 바꿈으로써 전체시스템의 출력특성을 쉽게 제어할 수 있어 사용되는 태양전지 어레이의 종류와 환경조건 변화에 따라 쉽게 제어변수 값들을 조정할 수 있다. 또한 하나의 디지털 제어기로 다수의 태양광 시스템을 제어하므로 고가의 디지털 제어기의 개수를 줄여 비용이 저렴한 장점이 있다.

  • This paper describes the development of 7he utility vehicle controller using combination system of battery and photovoltaic power for increasing operation time. In order to keep interchangeability, low cost and high performance, a separately excited DC Motor is controlled without velocity and current measurements by $\mu$-processor. For the parallel operation between the solar cell and battery, dc-dc converter is used, which is applied to the maximum power Point tracking(MPPT) and current control algorithm. By the simulation and experimental results of trial product, the vapidity of the proposed system is verified.

  • Most maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control algorithm is based on Perturb and Observe(P&O) and Incremental Conductance(IncCond). In comparison with P&O and IncCond algorithm, the dynamic and tracking characteristic of IncCond algorithm is better than P&O algorithm in condition of rapidly changing solar radiation. But in the case of digital implementation, the InCond algorithm has error en decision of maximum power operation point(MPOP). To solve this problem, this paper proposes a improved IncCond algorithm, which can determine the MPOP correctly by inserting the test signal in control input. This paper proposes a novel MPPT control algorithm for the digitally implemented photovoltaic system in condition of rapidly changing solar radiation. To verify the validity of the proposed control algorithm. the computer simulation and experiment are carried out.

  • The photovoltaic module has the characteristic that the output power varies according to the amount of insolation. If partial shading occurs in an environment composed of an array, a number of local maximum power points (LMPPs) may be generated according to the shading state. Photovoltaic arrays require global maximum power point tracking due to variations in output characteristics caused by solar radiation and temperature. Conventional algorithms, such as P&O and Incond, do not follow the global maximum power point in a partial shaded solar array. In this study, we propose a technique to follow the global maximum power point by using the correlation of voltage, current, and power in solar arrays. The proposed control technique 2qw validated through simulation and experiments by constructing a 2-kW solar system.

  • In this paper, doubly-fed induction-type wind power generation system simulation model for grid connection is developed. The simulation model is based on PSCAD/EMTDC and consists of rotor-blade, blade controller, generator power converter and generator controller Blade controller controls the blade pitch angle for starting, peak power limiting and emergency condition. Generator controller controls the generator output power to maximize the system efficiency. Simulation results are shown for the variable wind speed conditions. The simulation model can be utilized for study of actual interaction between wind turbine and grid for reliable operation and protection of power system.

  • The demand for developing the compact and cost effective commercial version of the photovoltaic power conditioning system(PCS) is now increasing and several commercial products are on the markets. In this paper, several design results of 10kW rated grid-tied photovoltaic PCS system are introduced, and several test results for the system evaluation are also described. The test results verified the validity of the proposed photovoltaic PCS system.

  • 본 논문에서는 전하 균등화를 해주는 동시에 차동전력조절 방식(Differential Power Processing, DPP)을 추가하여 최대 전력점(Maximum Power Point, MPP)을 추종하는 회로를 제안한다. 이를 통하여 본 논문에서는 PV모듈을 제어를 하고, 동시에 벅-플라이백 컨버터를 이용하여 전하 균등화를 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서의 전력조절기는 포워드컨버터로 구성 되어 있고, 주 컨버터인 전하균등화회로는 벅-플라이백컨버터로 구성하였다. 컨버터의 입력은 PV모듈을 직렬로 연결, 출력은 배터리를 직렬로 연결하여 제안한 기능을 구현하였다. 이에 따른 조건을 수식으로 증명하였다.

  • In this study, a method for designing blade pitch and generator torque controllers for a wind turbine generator is presented. This method consists of two steps. First, the Lyapunov stability theory is used to obtain nonlinear control laws that can regulate the rotor speed and the power output at all operating ranges. The blade pitch controller is chosen such that it always decreases a positive definite function that represents the error in rotor speed control. Similarly, the generator torque controller always decreases a positive definite function that reflects the error in power output control. Then, the simulation-based optimization technique is used to tune the design parameters. The controller design procedure and simulation results are presented using the widely adopted two-mass model of the wind turbine.
