  • It is commonly believed that black soybean (Glycine max: BB) prevents and alleviates hair loss. However, few studies have directly assessed the effect of BB on hair growth. We presently evaluated the mitosis induction on dermal papillae cell and mitogenic effect on NIH3T3 cells in vitro. To elucidate the hair growth promoting effect in vivo, anagen induction and hair restoration were examined in a shaving model of C57BL/6 mice. We also conducted biochemical analysis of blood plasma. Significant stimulation of dermal papillae and NIH3T3 cell proliferation were observed by treatment of BB in a dose-dependent manner. BB markedly promoted hair growth and significantly improved blood total antioxidant capacity and reduced lipid peroxidation and triglyceride level. These results suggest that BB has hair growth promoting effect and it is a potent candidate for the prevention of hair loss.

  • To develop a new natural cosmetic hair care product for scalp treatment, we investigated the effect of enzyme modified (Viscozyme, Pectinex) oriental medical prescriptions on hair growth and melanogenesis. Enzyme modified oriental medical prescriptions showed the antioxidative effect, inhibitory effects on lipoxygenase activity and $5{\alpha}$-reductase activity and melanogenic activity. In human irritation test, they did not show any adverse effect. Based on these results, we suggest that enzyme modified oriental medical prescriptions may potentially be used in a cosmeceutical hair care product for scalp treatment.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the anthropomorphic design factors of pedagogical agents that can enhance user experience in learning foreign languages (English) through smartphones. In this study, when designing a pedagogical agent that delivers content, the presence or absence of the agent's image, the degree of human nature (HN), and role setting (leader vs. companion) among the anthropomorphic factors that influence facilitating learning, credibility, and engagement perception. As a result of the experiment, HN alone did not show a facilitating learning effect, and images and roles improved not only the facilitating learning effect but also other user experience factors. When HN factors were designed in combination with image and role factors, they were effective in overall user experience effects such as facilitating learning, credibility, and engagement.

The Effects of Cyclic AMP, Theophylline and Caffeine on Sporulation of Aspergillus niger in the Defined Media (검정곰팡이(Aspergillus niger)의 포자형성(胞子形成)에 미치는 cAMP, 테오필린 및 카페인의 영향(影響)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • Aspergillus niger van Tieghem was cultured by the method of synchronous and submerged culture. The sporulation occurred through the culture and its life cycle and differentiation were completed in the experiments. The effects of cAMP, theophylline and caffeine on the sporulation of A. niger were investigated. In the sporulation medium, the sporulation was stimulated by addition of cAMP and its optimum concentration was $10^{-4}M$. In the sporulation medium, the sporulation was stimulated by addition of theophylline and its optimum concentration was 10 mg/ml. In the sporulation medium, the sporulation was stimulated by addition of caffeine and its optimum concentration was 300 mg/ml. Theophylline added to the sporulation medium together with cAMP enhanced the promotion effect of cAMP on sporulation. Caffeine added to the sporulation medium together with cAMP enhanced the promotion effect of cAMP on sporulation. In the sporulation medium, the sporulation was stimulated by addition of neither AMP nor ATP. In the potassium acetate medium, cAMP, theophylline and caffeine stimulated the sporulation, respectively.

  • This experiment has been conducted to find out a effective decomposition method of popped rice hulls which are hard to be decomposed in vitro. It was found that the C/N ratio of 35 was better than the C/N ratio of 20 for improving the decomposition ratio of popped rice hulls. The addition of rice bran accelerated the decomposition of popped rice hulls. The real decomposition rate of popped rice hulls for 10 days was merely 8 percent. This poor decomposition ratio seemed to be come from the chemical constituent of rice hull which has 20 percent of silica content. It was considered that the addition of rice bran speeded up only the decomposition of bran itself by increasing the number of microorganisms. It was also observed that color changes developed from the decomposition of rice hulls proved not to be a yardstick for the degree of decomposition.

  • In this study, performance of hardening accelerator types which promote setting and hardening of cement has been reviewed in order to develop early age strength of concrete with compressive strength of 21~27 MPa after examination of strength development of the concrete at early age according to curing temperature and unit cement(binder) content. As results, soluble mineral salt showed better hardening acceleration effect than organic salt in the scope of this study. Also, hydration reaction accelerating effect of $C_3S$ by Soluble mineral salt is effective on development of early age compressive strength and it was shown that the Pt's hydration reaction accelerating effect was the best. Construction duration reduction can be expected by securing compressive strength for prevention of early aged freezing damage in 25hour-curing time under curing temperature at $15^{\circ}C$. Also, it was shown that compressive strength of specimen cured at $5^{\circ}C$ was similar with plain specimen cured at $10^{\circ}C$. Therefore, it is expected that fuel costs and carbon dioxide can be reduced when the same construction duration is considered.
