전해인프로세스드레싱법에 의한 초정밀 원통 연삭기술 연구 (A Study on the Cylindrical Grinding Technology by Electrolytic In-Process Dressing(ELID) Method)

  • The ELID(electrolytic in-process dressing) grinding method is a new precision grinding technique with the special electrolytic in-process dressing by metal bonded grinding wheel, fluid, and power supply. It is possible to make a efficient precision machining of hard and brittle materials such as ceramics, hard metals, and quenched steels by using this method, In this study, a new efficient precision grinding method with ELID was attempted for application to the machining and finishing processes of cylindrical structural components. And, we try to develop the cylindrical grinding technique for mirror surface of ceramics, tungsten carbide and SCM steel, and for the high efficiency grinding of machined parts, for example, ball screw shaft. Electrical characteristics of three different wheel grit sizes of #325, #2000 and #4000 were investigated experimentally. ELID grinding method is proved to be useful for mirror surface generation and efficient machining.

고화소 카메라폰 모듈을 위한 Glass 렌즈 성형용 Silicon Carbide 코어의 초정밀 가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ultra Precision Grinding of Silicon Carbide Molding Core for High Pixel Camera Phone Module)

  • Recently, aspheric glass lens molding core is fabricated with tungsten carbide(WC). If molding core is fabricated with silicon carbide(SiC), SiC coating process, which must be carried out before the Diamond-Like Carbon(DLC) coating can be eliminated and thus, manufacturing time and cost can be reduced. Diamond Like Carbon(DLC) is being researched in various fields because of its high hardness, high elasticity, high durability, and chemical stability and is used extensively in several industrial fields. Especially, the DLC coating of the molding core surface used in the fabrication of a glass lens is an important technical field, which affects the improvement of the demolding performance between the lens and molding core during the molding process and the molding core lifetime. Because SiC is a material of high hardness and high brittleness, it can crack or chip during grinding. It is, however, widely used in many fields because of its superior mechanical properties. In this paper, the grinding condition for silicon carbide(SiC) was developed under the grinding condition of tungsten carbide. A silicon carbide molding core was fabricated under this grinding condition. The measurement results of the SiC molding core were as follows: PV of 0.155 ${\mu}m$(apheric surface) and 0.094 ${\mu}m$(plane surface), Ra of 5.3 nm(aspheric surface) and 5.5 nm(plane surface).

비구면 Glass렌즈 최적 성형조건 연구(I) ; 서냉조건효과 (A Study of Optimum Molding Condition of Aspheric Glass Lens(I) ; Annealing Condition Effect)

  • 본 연구에서 개발하는 성형렌즈는 그림1과 같이 한쪽 면이 비구면인 평볼록 형상이다. Glass렌즈의 고온압축성형을 위해서는 초정밀 가공기술로 제작된 성형Mold가 필요하며, Mold재질에 따른 성형기술의 확립이 필수적이다. 또한, 성형Mold의 표면과 융착반응이 없는 Glass소재가 요구된다. 본 실험을 위한 성형Mold는 코발트(Co) 함량 0.5 %의 초경합금(WC; 일본, Everloy社, 002K)을 초정밀 연삭가공하여 제작하였다. Glass소재는 전이점(Transformation Point; Tg) $572\;^{\circ}C$,항복점(Yielding Point; At) $630\;^{\circ}C$의 열적 특성을 갖는 K-BK7(일본, Sumita社)을 사용하였으며, d선에서 굴절률 및 아베수는 각각 1.51633, 64.1이다. 비구면 Glass렌즈 성형은 GMP(Glass Molding Press; 일본, Sumitomo社, Nano Press-S)장비를 사용하여 성형온도 $625\;^{\circ}C$, 서냉온도 $550\;^{\circ}C$로 고정하고 성형압력를 200-800 N 범위에서 변화시켰다. 표 1에 성형변수로 사용한 서냉속도와 서냉전환온도 조건을 나타낸다. 표1과 같이 각 서냉조건별로5장의 렌즈를 성형 후 특성값이 평균치에 가까운 3장을 선별하여 그 특성을 비교하였다. 각 조건에 따른 성형렌즈의 형상정도(일본, Panasonic社, UA3P, 자유곡면형상측정기), 두께(일본, Mitutoyo社, MDC-25M, 마이크로메터), 굴절률(일본, Shimatus社, KPR-200, 정밀굴절률측정기) 및 MTF[해상도](독일, Trioptics社, Image Master HR, MTF-Field)를 측정하여 각각의 광학적 특성을 비교 평가하였다. 비구면 Glass렌즈 성형장비와 형상측정기를 그림 2, 3에 각각 나타낸다.

성형용 코어면 DLC 코팅에 의한 비구면 Glass렌즈 광학적 특성에 관한 연구 (Optical Properties of Aspheric Glass Lens using DLC Coated Molding Core)

  • 본 연구에서는 3 메가픽셀, 2.5배 줌 카메라폰 모듈용 비구면 유리렌즈 개발을 목적으로 실험계획법(DOE)을 적용하여 성형용 초경 코어의 연삭가공조건을 구하고, 이를 활용하여 비구면 Glass렌즈 성형용 초경합금(WC) 코어를 초정밀 연삭가공을 수행하였다. 또한 가공된 성형용 코어의 가공면 위에 이온증착법으로 다이아몬드상 탄소(Diamond-Like Carbon; DLC) 코팅을 수행하여 DLC 코팅이 성형용 코어의 형상정도(PV)와 표면조도(Ra)에 미치는 영향을 평가하였으며, 비구면 Glass렌즈를 동일한 조건에서 성형하여 성형렌즈의 광학적 특성을 비교하여 성형용 코어면의 DLC 코팅 효과에 대하여 검토하였다.

ELID 연삭을 이용한 비축 비구면 렌즈의 초정밀 가공 (Ultra-Precision Machining of Off-Axis Asymmetric Large-area Reflecting Mirror Using ELID Grinding Process)

  • This study focused on the application of ELID mirror-surface grinding technology to the manufacture of off-axis asymmetric large-area reflecting mirrors made of BK7 glass. The size of the parts, such as asymmetric large-area mirrors or lens, made form-accuracy or roughness especially hard to measure after machining because of the measuring range limit of measurement devices. In this study, the ELID grinding system has been set up for mirror-surface machining experiments manufacturing off-axis asymmetric lenses. A measuring method using a reference workpiece has been suggested to measure the form-accuracy and roughness. According to the experimental results, even when using only a reference workpiece, it is confirmed that the surface roughness was 8 nmRa and form-accuracy was 80 nmRMS, with a best fit asymmetric radius when using a grinding wheel of #8,000. It is found that the accuracy of large-area parts could be estimated by the proposed process.

비구면 가공을 위한 공구 경로 제어 알고리즘 (Tool Path Control Algorithm for Aspherical Surface Grinding)

  • In this study, tool path control algorithm for aspherical surface grinding was derived and discussed. The aspherical surface actually means contact points between lens and tool. Tool positions are generally defined at the center of a tool, so there is difference between tool path and lens surface. The path was obtained from contact angle and relative position from the contact point. The angle could be calculated after differentiating an aspheric equation and complex algebraic operations. The assumption of the control algorithm was that x moves by constant velocity while z velocity varies. X was normal to the radial direction of lens, but z was tangential. The z velocities and accelerations were determined from current error and next position in each step. In the experiment, accuracy of the control algorithm was checked on a micro-precision machine. The result showed that the control error tended to be diminished when the tool diameter increased, and the error was under sub-micro level.

초경합금의 초정밀 연삭특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Ultra Precision Grinding Characteristics of Tungsten Carbide)

  • As the various manufacturing technology of optical glass is developed, the aspherical lenses are applied to many fields. However, It is still very difficult to manufacture glass lens because of the high cost and the short life of core. In recent years, the demands of the aspherical glass lenses increase since it is difficult to obtain the desirable performance in the plastic lens. In the glass mold lens, it has merits of high productivity and reproductivity since lens is manufactured by the only forming with high precision mold. The fabricating conditions for glass mold lens are glass surface that does not cause fusion, viscosity of 108-1013 poise for the $0.2{\mu}m$ accuracy, and viscoelasticity for the roughness less than 100 angstrom. In this thesis, ultra-precision grinding characteristics of tungsten carbide for forming the aspherical glass lens core were studied and the result of it is applied to manufacture the tungsten carbide-base core of the glass lens used to the laser scanning unit and the camera phone.

  • 초경합금 성형용 코어를 이용한 고온 압축 성형방식으로 제작되기 때문에 성형용 코어의 초정밀 연산 가공 및 코어면 코팅 기술 개발이 시급한 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 성형용 초경합금 코어의 연삭가공을 수행하고, 가공 완료된 성형용 코어의 가공면에 Re-Ir 코팅을 수해, 측정을 통하여 코팅면의 마찰 계수 변화에 대한 연구를 수행하였다.

  • Recently, due to the tremendous growth of media technology, demands of the aspheric glass lens which is a high-performance and miniaturized increase gradually. Generally, the aspheric glass lens is manufactured by Glass Molding Press (GMP) method using tungsten carbide (WC) mold core. In this study, the thermal deformation which was occurred by GMP process was analyzed and applied it to compensate the aspheric glass lens. The compensated lens was satisfied that can be applied to the actual specifications.

비축대칭 Glass Array Lens의 설계 및 개발 (Design and Development of Asymmetry Glass Array Lens)

  • Asymmetric glass lens core for portable projection optic system was designed and simulated. And it was machined by newly developed non-rotational ultra precision grinding method. With the designed lens data which optimized for multi-collimation, we generated the we core surface data. Mold pressing conditions analyzed by FEM. In the machining process, ground profile errors were compensated based on measured data, minimized feed rate and depth of cut. The deviations of machined core profile were acceptable level for glass mold press. Mold pressed glass array lens was coated with $SiO_2\;and\;Ta_2O_5$ for anti-reflection.
