Development of Techniques for Testicular Germ Cell Transplantation in Pigs (돼지에 있어서 정소 생식세포의 이식 기법 개발)

  • The current study was designed to extend the technique of spermatogonial transplantation to economically important pig model We evaluated the efficiency of pig to pig transplantation. Donor testis cells were harvested from testes obtained at castration of 10- to 14-day-old boars and were labeled with fluorescent marker(PKH26) before transplantation. The presence of infused dye or labeled pig testicular cells was confirmed in the seminiferous tubules from recipient pig. The most effective procedure of intratubular germ cell transfer was to insert an fine needle ($21{\sim}25$ gauge) through the cauda epididymis and testis into the rete testis under ultrasound guidance. Infusion of $5{\sim}7ml$ of dye solution or cell suspension could fill the rete and up to 50% of seminiferous tubules of 14-week-old boars. Testis were examined for the presence and localization of labeled donor cells immediately after transplantation and labeled donor cells were found in numerous seminiferous tubules from recipient pig testes. These results indicate that germ cell transplantation is feasible in recipient pig testis. This study represents successful spermatogonial transplantation between individual animals in a livestock species.

Development and performance test of a micro bubble irrigation system for root canal cleaning of tooth (치아 근관 세척용 마이크로 기포 세정 시스템 개발 및 성능평가)

  • Elimination of the smear layer and bacteria in the root canal is the most important in the endodontic treatment, and various irrigation devices have been developed. Nevertheless, it is hard to eliminate the smear layer and bacteria completely. In this paper, a micro bubble irrigation system has been developed for the root canal cleaning of tooth. Micro bubbles are generated when pressurized fluids passing through a porous material inside a hand-piece nozzle, and the bubbly flows excited by ultrasonic vibration are observed using a high-speed camera and a microscope. The results show that the diameter and number of bubbles increases with the applied pressure, and there found an optimum excitation frequency in order to minimize the bubble size. From in-vitro tests, it is also verified that the developed bubble irrigation system has the ability of antibacterial and infection removal. Thus, this biocompatible system would be well suited for root canal cleaning.

Assessment of Afterload by Doppler Aortic Flow Velocity Measurement (대동맥 혈류속도 측정에 의한 후부하 상태의 평가)

  • 배경: 심근 수축력과 더불어 전신저항은 개심술 후 적절한 심박출량을 유지하기 위한 매우 중요한 요인이다. 후부하의 변화를 비관혈적으로 평가할 수 있는지 알아 보고자 대동맥 혈류파형의 변화를 관찰하였다. 대상 및 방법: 개흉한 8마리의 잡견에서 연속파형 Doppler 심초음파를 이용하여 nitroprusside 단독 또는 epinephrine과의 병합투여 잔후로 상행 대동맥 혈류를 측정하였다. 결과: Nitroprusside의 투여로 동맥압과 전신저항은 약물의 투여량에 비례하여 감소함으로써(p<0.05 vs 기준치), 대동맥 혈류파형의 최고속도, 평균가속 및 분거리(속도시간적분$\times$심박동수)는 증가하였고, 가속시간은 짧아졌으며(p<0.05 vs 기준치), 가속시간/박출시간의 비는 변화가 없었다. Nitroprusside 투여로 인한 전신저항의 변화는 속도시간적분이나 Doppler 시간간격 지표보다는 최고속도(r=0.60, p=0.001)와 평균가속(r=0.52, p=0.003)과 상관관계가 있었다. Epinephrine과의 병합투여로 전신저항이 증가하지 않는 한 nitroprusside 단독투여에 비해서 최고속도, 평균가속 및 속도시간적분이 더 크게 증가했으나, 전신저항이 증가되면 이 Doppler 지표들은 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 결론: Doppler 심초음파를 이용하여 상행 대동맥 혈류파형의 최고속도와 평균가속을 연속적으로 측정함으로써 후부하의 변화를 비관혈적으로 평가할 수 있으리라 생각된다.

Simulation of Ultrasonic Dry Cleaning for Semiconductor/display Device Application (반도체/디스플레이 소자용 초음파 건식세정 시뮬레이션 연구)

  • In this paper, the optimum design of ultrasonic dry cleaning head was investigated. The transducer instead of mechanical dynamic structure was used to generate ultrasonic wave and the horn-shape amplifier was utilized to solve the energy decaying problem of ultrasonic wave with propagating it through the media. The analyses of ultrasonic wave and a fluid for the selected structure of a cleaning head were carried out using SYSNOISE and ANSYS simulators, respectively. Based on simulator results, the distance between a horn and the substrate of 4 mm and the horn diameter of 10 mm were determined to maximize the energy of ultrasonic waves. The cooling structure was also considered to reduce the heat from the transducer and the horn. The equivalent circuit for the fabricated horn was deduced from HP4194A impedance/gain/phase analyzer and the frequency of an ultrasonic wave of 20.25 kHz was confirmed using the parameters of the equivalent circuit.

Development of Wafer Cleaning Equipment Using Nano Bubble and Megasonic Ultrasound (나노 버블과 메가소닉 초음파를 이용한 반도체 웨이퍼 세정장치 개발)

  • This paper describes a hybrid cleaning method of silicon wafer combining nano-bubble and ultrasound to remove sub-micron particles and contaminants with minimal damage to the wafer surface. In the megasonic cleaning process of semiconductor manufacturing, the cavitation induced by ultrasound can oscillate and collapse violently often with re-entrant jet formation leading to surface damage. The smaller size of cavitation bubbles leads to more stable oscillations with more thermal and viscous damping, thus to less erosive surface cleaning. In this study, ultrasonic energy was applied to the wafer surface in the DI water to excite nano-bubbles at resonance to remove contaminant particles from the surface. A patented nano-bubble generator was developed for the generation of nano-bubbles with concentration of 1×109 bubbles/ml and nominal nano-bubble diameter of 150 nm. Ultrasonic nano-bubble technology improved a contaminant removal efficiency more than 97% for artificial nano-sized particles of alumina and Latex with significant reduction in cleaning time without damage to the wafer surface.

A Study on the Possibility of Using of Spent RHDS Catalyst as a SCR Catalyst wash-coated on the metal corrugated substrate (폐 RHDS 촉매재생 후 메탈 코로게이트 지지체상에서 워시코팅에 의한 NOx 저감 SCR 촉매에 관한 연구)

  • The spent RHDS (Residue HydroDeSulfurization) catalyst is deactivated mainly by deposition of various contaminants such as coke, sulfur and vanadium on the surface of catalyst. To eliminate those contaminants, the following remanufacturing process was conducted. The first, heavy oil on the surface of the spent RHDS catalyst was removed by kerosene and dehydrated. The second, the high temperature incineration was carried out to eliminate coke and sulfur components deposited on the surface of spent RHDS catalyst. The third, the excessive quantity of Vanadium deposited on the surface of catalyst was removed by leaching process as follows: ultrasonic agitation was carried out at 50℃, for 10 seconds with 0.5% and 1% oxalic acid solution. The purpose of this process is to find out regenerated RHDS catalyst can be used as SCR catalyst for NOx reduction by controlling the vanadium residual content of the regenerated RHDS catalyst through leaching process. The composition of regenerated RHDS catalyst was analyzed by XRF and the NOx reduction efficiency was also measured by continuous catalytic fixed bed reactor. As the result, regenerated catalyst, with 0.5% oxalic acid, ultrasonic agitation in 10 seconds, showed the most stable NOx reduction efficiency. Also, in comparison with commercial SCR catalyst, the NOx reduction performance of regenerated catalyst was similar to that of commercial SCR catalyst at the temperature 375℃ and higher whereas was lower than commercial SCR catalyst at the temperature range between 200~250℃. Therefore, it was confirmed that the regenerated catalyst as powder form wash coated on the surface of metal corrugated substrate can be used for commercial SCR catalyst.

Determination of Phthalic Acid Esters and Adipate in Sediment Samples (저질중의 프탈산 에스테르와 아디피산 분석)

  • The most common 8 phthalic acid esters (PAEs) and adipate in sediment were measured 5 times from 1999 to 2001 at 11 sites of river in Korea. Ultrasonication extraction with dichloromethane was done for extraction of the sediment. After concentration GC/MS-SIM analysis was performed. Three compounds (DEP, DBP and DEHP) among eight phthalic acid esters were detected from the sediment samples, and the other PAEs were not detected in any samples. DEHP (27.3~63.6%) was detected with higher frequency than any other compounds for sediment samples. And this compound had shown the highest average concentration (81.7~427.6 ng/g).

GaN 위에 electron beam evaporator로 증착시킨 ITO contactd의 구조적 특성 및 전기적 특성 평가

  • 일반적으로 GaN-based light emitting diodes(LEDs)는 Top layer위에 금속박막으로 contact을 형성하고 있으며 광소자 구성에 있어 빛은 이러한 금속 contact을 통과할 수 없다. 그러나 만약 이러한 contact이 투명전도막으로 구성될 수 있다면 보다 효율적인 광소자의 구성이 기대되어진다. 특히 GaN photodetector, GaN-based LEDs, GaN vertical cavity surface emitting lasers(VCSELs)등의 소자형성에 있어 투명전도막 contact은 매우 중요하며 그 응용에 앞서 기본적인 구조적, 전기적, 광학적 특성에 대한 연구가 반드시 선행되어져야 한다. 따라서 본 실험에서는 이러한 투명전도막으로써 Indium Tin Oxide(ITO)를 사용하였으며 박막형태의 contact으로 제조하여 n-GaN, p-GaN와 corning glass위에 e-beam evaporation법로써 제조하였다. 또한 각 n-, p-type과 corning glass위에 증착된 ITO박막의 구조적 특성을 분석하기 위하여 x-ray diffractometry(XRD)와 Auger electron spectroscopy(AES)등을 사용하였으며 전기적 특성을 측정하기 위하여 four point probe를 사용하였고 그들의 I-V 곡선을 측정하였다. 또한 UV spectrometry를 사용하여 그들의 광학적 특성을 측정하고자 하였다. ITO 박막의 제조에 있어 기판은 초음파 유기세정 후 HCl과 H2O2(1:1)의 혼합용액을 사용하여 GaO2를 제거하고자 하였으며 이후 초순수로 세척하여 사용하였다. 초기 진공도는 3$\times$10-5 Torr이하였으며 기판온도 50$0^{\circ}C$에서 0.6 /s의 증착속도로 약 2000 증착하였다. 이렇게 제조된 ITO 박막은 5$\times$10-5 Torr이하의 진공분위기에서 $600^{\circ}C$로 열처리를 실시하였으며 열처리 시간의 변화에 따른 그들의 전기적, 구조적, 광학적 특성을 측정하였다. 열처리 과정을 통한 ITO박막은 투과도는 420nm의 영역에서 80%이상을 나타내었으며 이때의 면저항은 약 50ohm/ 이었다. 또한 I-V 곡선 측정에 의한 contact특성의 측정결과 열처리 전의 ITO contact은 n-GaN와 n-GaN에 대해 각각 ohmic과 schottky contact의 일반적인 contact 특성을 나타내었다. 그러나 이러한 contact 특성은 열처리 시간의 변화에 따라 변화하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 최근 의료시장에 상용화된 모바일 수술 중 CT(intra-operative computed tomography, iCT)는 수술실 내 이동이 자유로울 뿐만 아니라 수술 후 즉각적인 환자 모니터링이 실시간으로 이루어져 수술 후 환자의 예후 향상과 재수술 확률을 낮출 수 있다. 이동성을 갖춘 iCT 는 편의성과 유용성이 검증되었지만, 이동시 발생될 수 있는 충돌사고의 단점이 존재한다. 따라서, iCT 의 이동시 발생할 수 있는 위험을 최소화 할 수 있는 안전장치가 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 모바일 iCT 의 구동 제어의 편의성과 안전성을 확보 할 수 있는 CT 촬영을 제어하기 위한 리모트 컨트롤러, 이동시 전방 시야를 확보하기 위한 전방 모니터링 카메라 출력, 충돌 위험을 알릴 수 있는 초음파 센서를 통합하는 임베디드 컨트롤러를 개발하고자 한다.

Study on Reduction of Microbial Contamination on Daruma by Combination Treatment of Strong Acidic Hypochlorous Water and Ultrasonic Waves (강산성차아염소산수와 초음파를 병용처리한 조미오징어 반가공품의 미생물 오염도 저감화에 관한 연구)

  • This study was performed to develop treatment method for reducing microbial contamination on Daruma (a semi-processed product of seasoned and dried squid) by combination of strong acidic hypochlorous water (SAHW) and ultrasonic waves (UW). The available chlorine concentration, oxidation reduction potential (ORP) and pH of SAHW were $69.67{\pm}0.58ppm$, $1071.33{\pm}4.16mV$ and 2.79, respectively. The 1.49 log CFU/g of viable cell count and 1.32 log CFU/g of Staphylococcus aureus was reduced, and Escherichia coli was reduced below detection limit when the Daruma was treated with 20 times (w/v) of sodium hypochlorite solution (SHS) for 120 min. The 3.62 log CFU/g of viable cell count and 3.22 log CFU/g of Staphylococcus aureus was reduced, and Escherichia coli was reduced below detection limit when the Daruma was treated with 20 times (w/v) of SAHW for 120 min. The antibacterial effects of SAHW were stronger than those of SHS at same available chroline concentration. SAHW treatment after washing strongly alkalic electrolyzed water (SAEW) showed better bactericidal effects than SAHW treatment only. The 4.0 log CFU/g of viable cell count was reduced, S. aureus was reduced below regulation limit (Log 2.0 CFU/g), and E. coli was reduced below detection limit when the Daruma was treated with 20 times (w/v) of SAHW for 90 min after washing with 20 times (w/v) of SAEW for 60 min. The viable cell number was reduced below detection limit and S. aureus was reduced below regulation limit when the Daruma was treated with 20 times (w/v) of SAHW for 60 min in ultrasonic washer. E. coli was reduced below detection limit when the Daruma was treated with 20 times (w/v) of SAHW for 10 min in ultrasonic washer. These results suggest that combination of SAHW and UW may be a good technique to reduce the microbial contamination in daruma.
