  • Considering the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, this study examines the changes and influences of intelligent information technology and the role of consumer education in the context of consumption life. The purpose of this study is to provide a theoretical foundation to effectively respond to the future consumption society as an independent consumer by enhancing the understanding of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in terms of consumption life. First, in terms of changes in the consumption paradigm in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, production and consumption are converged by being shared through a comprehensive connection platform in real time. Regarding the meaning of consumption, mental experience is being emphasized; moreover, usage and sharing, rather than ownership, are being highlighted. In terms of major changes in consumption life, the emergence of a more convenient smart consumption life and the possibility of personalized consumption optimized for individual demand are anticipated. Moreover, sustainable eco-friendly consumption is expected to increase further, and rapidly changing consumption trends will experience accelerated progress in consumer-centered changes. Next, the predicted problems in consumption life in the Fourth Industrial Revolution include unequal consumption due to intelligent information technology power center and the use and management of personal information data. Furthermore, ethical concerns related to the introduction of new technologies will become prominent, eventually resulting in issues concerning consumption satisfaction. To effectively respond to these new paradigm changes, consumer education should be value-centered. Ethical aspects of consumption should be considered, and consumption life should include trust and mutual cooperation. Furthermore, consumer education should facilitate creative convergence.

  • The items currently used in museum service evaluations fail to offer satisfactory suggestions that could aid in the improvement of museum services. This study aims to identify and develop items that take into consideration the unique nature of art museum services. This study also identifies factors that determine visitor satisfaction and decisions to revisit with the end of offering methods to improve art museum service. The research conducted was based on an on-site survey of visitors of the Gwangju Art Museum. 223 questionnaires were collected, 211 of which were used in the data analysis. Factor analysis was applied to identify service factors to be considered at art museums. Regression analysis was then applied to estimate the influence of each factor in visitor satisfaction and revisit intention. This study first identifies five service quality factors of art museums: display method, employers, content, facilities, and supplemental programs. Results of the regression analysis showed that content is the most important factor in raising customer satisfaction and revisit intention. Supplemental programs were also significant in raising young and family customer satisfaction. The results also showed that various supplemental services such as education and experiential programs were necessary. Service facilities were also statistically significant factors in customer satisfaction and revisit intention. This study contributes in identifying five factors that could better measure art museum service quality. It also suggests a method to improve museum service quality based on the results of empirical investigations. This information could be of great help to art museum operators and other researchers.

  • This study attempts to understand the context of shared learning in the trading zone formed by teachers from different backgrounds and the process in which this shared learning varies in the educational context, focusing on the case of 'Woodwork Science Education Study Group.' To do this, data was collected through in-depth interviews with eight teachers who participated in the 'Woodworking Science Education Research Group' and analyzed their responses based on grounded theory. As a result, the causal conditions of the teachers' research group were 'various contexts of entering the trading zone' and the central phenomenon was 'encounter with learning in the trading zone.' Contextual conditions affecting this phenomenon were 'woodwork as a boundary object and individual transfiguration experience,' and action/interaction strategy was 'various efforts and influences in the field.' The intervention condition was 'practical effort and experience in educational field.' Final result in this model is 'the new practice of learning shared in the trading zone.' In selective coating, it was found that the practice of the teacher's research group appears as four types of' 'Extracurricular creative experience type,' 'career education type,' 'curricula education type,' and 'school management type.' The results of this study suggest that the shared learning and antonymous practice among teachers in the teachers' research group as trading zone do not only meet their learning needs but also lead to various teaching practices in the individual teachers' context of education and improve the diversity and quality of education.

  • Despite the numerous graduates being produced in practical music and history, which have not been shorter than 30 years, the employment of students remains an unsolvable task. Most graduates are employed by private institutes as music instructors or got involved in band activities, which are non-regular work and not stable. The rapid development of K-pop along with national strength has changed our lives as well. As a result, the cultural and artistic fields, which were previously recognized only as luxury, have rapidly become popular. In the form of learning, internalized and experiencing, not just watching has a huge impact on improving the quality of our lives. This is reflected in national policies including the operation of cultural arts, education programs in elementary, middle, and high schools, and art programs designed to improve the welfare of residents at local community centers. It is time to expand its job-horizon to the relevant fields, and thus focus on promoting programs related to obtaining certificates to help our students find jobs. In addition, the government should create a course for music teacher certification in the field of practical music that differs from the current music teacher certification of secondary schools. It is very urgent to establish the teaching course in four-year universities or graduate schools of practical music education.

  • This study examines the efficiency of safety management measures taken in coastal waters to prevent coastal accidents. Recent years have witnessed about 800 cases of large and small coastal accidents in coastal waters annually. On average, these accidents have been responsible for 129 deaths annually, Thus, there is a need for effective preventive measures. Accordingly, the Korea Coast Guard enacted the Coastal Accident Prevention Act in 2014 and has cooperated with related organizations, such as local governments and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, to safely manage coastal waters. However, compared to the rapid increase in human coastal activities, coastal accidents continue to occur due to the lack of a safety mindset among the Korea Coast Guard, a lack of public safety awareness, a lack of safety management facilities, and poor interest from related organizations, among others. This study examines the conditions and problems faced with regard to safety management in coastal waters based on recent coastal accident data, and analyzes foreign coastal waters safety management cases. Various methods to improve the safety management efficiency in coastal waters are proposed, such as enhancing the safety mindset and capabilities of the Korea Coast Guard, strengthening cooperation among related organizations, increasing the role of local governments, expanding and strengthening safety management facilities by applying new technologies, inculcating a culture of maritime safety, and activating private-public collaborative governance.

  • With the tourism industry stagnating due to the recent COVID-19 virus issue, the importance of preparing a plan to resume and revitalize the tourism industry after the end of the COVID-19 is being emphasized. In particular, this researcher paid attention to the development of the horse industry as it can contribute to the differentiation of services as it is an experience-oriented tourism, and it can be said to be a field with a high potential for sustainable development in the future. However, in the domestic horse industry, legal problems related to installation, industrial structural problems organized around horse racing, and demand-based problems were scattered. Therefore, this researcher suggested a way to improve these problems, improve the quality of life of the people, and lead the horse industry to increase the income of rural residents. As a representative example, a legal improvement plan for the expansion and growth of equestrian facilities was presented, and a strategic incubating infrastructure construction plan was presented to support horse industry workers to nurture the horse industry as the 6th industry on their own. This movement will lead to qualitative growth through the conversion of the horse industry into local cultural contents, and not only to expand the base of public demand for the horse industry, but also to maximize the creation of added value through diversification of the horse industry, leading to qualitative growth of the horse industry.

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of multicultural complexes on activating local culture. Prior studies that discuss activating local culture through multicultural complexes focus on literature reviews or quantitative research methods, which do not incorporate the detailed and practical opinions of the users of the location. Therefore, this study collected detailed information through in-depth interviews with users, and investigated the future development methods of multicultural complexes based on the obtained information. It focused on the Asia Culture Center (ACC) in Gwangju, which is considered a prime example of a multicultural complex, and conducted in-depth interviews with citizens who have lived in Gwangju for at least five years as well as visited the ACC to investigate the research question from a detailed perspective. The results revealed that although the citizens of Gwangju have a positive perception of the functions of ACC as a cultural space representing the city that activates the local culture, they perceive it as partially insufficient to be considered a multicultural complex. Major findings included the following: the contents of the ACC do not have a mass appeal, its inflexible hours of operation inconvenience visitors, and the contents available for visitors lack in quantity and quality. Therefore, in order for the ACC to appeal as a successful multicultural complex, it is necessary to cooperate with the members of the community to investigate their needs with respect to the contents and location, and prepare strategic plans to satisfy those needs.
