System Operational Performance Analysis for Wire-Guided Torpedo (선유도어뢰 체계운용성능분석 기법)

  • System operational performance analysis for wire-guided torpedo is intended to provide technical analysis data for requirements analysis and development, which, as a consequence, supports the requirements definition activity for systems engineering. Technical approach and analysis example are presented including problem definition, formulation, modeling, simulation and analysis results that are applied to the on-going Next Generation Torpedo project.

  • 최근의 전장 환경은 전투 공간에서 파악 가능한 모든 요소를 효과적으로 연계하여 정보의 우월성을 기반으로 전투력을 향상시키는 네트워크 중심전 체제로 진화하고 있다. 이에 우리 군은 네트워크 중심 전장 환경의 핵심 요소로서 전술다대역다기능무전기를 개발해왔으며, 기존 아날로그 방식 무전기를 기반으로 네트워크를 구성하여 운용하는 체계에 순차적으로 적용될 예정이다. 이는 지상 무기체계도 예외는 아니다. 이러한 상황에 따라, 본 논문에서는 지상 무기체계 환경에서 전술다대역다기능무전기의 성능 평가 및 분석을 수행한다. 성능 평가에서는 실제 전술다대역다기능무전기를 기반으로 지휘통제체계와 무장통제장치 간의 무선 통신환경을 모의 구성하여 성능 시험을 수행하였으며, 결과 분석을 통해 전술다대역다기능무전기의 지상 무기체계 적용 가능성을 확인한다.

Fire Power Analysis for Concept Exploration of Combat Vehicle (전투차량체계의 개념탐색을 위한 화력성능분석)

  • At the stage conceptual design, combat vehicle is classified into three general categories of fire power, mobility and physical properties of system. The present research is restricted to fire power and its optimization. At the stage of conceptual designing of system, it is appropriate to consider major variables affecting fire power - including the weight of bullet, which exerts a direct influence on destroying effect, maximum range which takes long range firing in consideration. To estimate the maximum firing range, a simple interior ballistic and an exterior ballistic model were built by using the lumped parameter method, Le Duc method and point mass trajectory model. Design of experiment and regression analysis was used to derive simulations of fire power. Finally, response surface models were built and design variables were analyzed.

  • This paper introduces experimental design and components model for analysing the impact of parameter(in the field of kinematics and sensor) on performance of hard-kill torpedo defence system. The simulation is implemented at the level of engagement and its scope is limited to final stage of engagement where main function of anti-torpedo system is operating. It improves the fidelity of physical realism by precise model of simulation components in the perspectives of kinematics, sensor capability and acoustic detection theory. This paper provides the experimentation methodology for evaluating parameter sensitivity which is required to analyze in advance of development the defense system with novel concepts. In addition, the experimental result shows the tendency of defense capability according to parameter adjustments.

  • Required Operational Capability(ROC), which means the performance of a weapon system, is determined when estimating the requirements of a new weapon system. It is very important to define the ROC as it has a decisive influence from acquisition of a weapon system to tactical operation. In this study, we propose a simulation methodology to verify the ROC of the Para-Observation Munition(POM), a newly developed weapon system. To this end, we propose a discrete-event simulation model that takes main performance of the weapon system constituting the ROC and environmental factors that affect performance of the weapon system as input values, and outputs operational effect as a result value. It describes various simulation logic required to implement a simulation model, and explains how to verify ROC using various simulation results such as sensitivity analysis. POM is a weapon system that does not have a similar one and that is difficult to directly utilize the military analysis model. This study can be used as a methodology to analyze the ROC and predict operational effects of weapon systems such as POM.

  • The purpose of current tunnel maintenance system in South Korea is safety-based maintenance system for accident prevention, So it is difficult to conduct a strategic maintenance. The development of a new maintenance system can lead to effective investment of limited financial and it's effort is still in progress. In this study, to develop a performance-based assessment method, indexes for assessment are derived taking into account the safety, durability and serviceability. The indexes for performance-based assessment were selected by a literature analysis and a delphi survey. Then the importance among indexes were calculated by the AHP analysis.

  • The systematic validation of the ITS devices' performance reliability is very important because it helps their performance reliability to be maintained in a certain level, enabling to assure the reliability of the collected data, processed data and provided information. Although the government's regulation, "Transportation Efficiency Act", which requires ITS devices to be validated, was passed in 2001, no systematic inspection and calibration procedures have been developed so far. Therefore, in this study the systematic and efficient inspection and calibration method or procedure is investigated by reviewing the similar cases and best practices in Korea and overseas and some recommendations are made.

  • 지휘 통제 자동화 체계는 군의 현대화를 위해서는 반드시 필요한 체계이며, 다양한 기능들이 복합된 매우 복잡한 체계이다 체계의 완전한 성능을 발휘하기 위해서는 다른 많은 체계들과 복합 연동 운용되어야 하는 특성이 있다. 이 모든 체계들은 기술 집약적 고가의 체계들이기 때문에 이 체계들을 동시에 개발, 구축하기는 곤란하므로 체계의 효용성, 경제성등을 분석하여 국가적 차원에서의 철저한 우선순위를 결정하여 구축해나가야 할 것이다

  • Studying the major wars of the past seventy years, the most fundamental change is the transition of weapon systems to one of convergence and cutting edge / state of the arts technology. Such transition is creating a need for drastic reforms of the weapon systems development process especially in areas of / in regards to effective utilization of IT, reduction of development period, precise establishing of operational concept and, management of required operational capability(ROC). In particular, establishing an accurate operational concept for a new weapon system and efficient management of ROC based on this operational concept is a prerequisite for a low-cost and high-efficiency weapon systems development and in the end, a successful construction of military forces. This paper examines the current management procedure of the ROC of the Korean military and proposes improvements to the procedure while taking into consideration issues of elicitation, analysis and validation of requirements engineering.

Optimal Timeslot Allocation for MF-TDMA Broadband Satelite Systems (MF-TDMA 광대역 위성시스템을 위한 최적 타임슬롯 할당 체계)

  • 본 논문에서는 MF-TDMA(Multi Frequency - Time Division Multiple Access)체계를 이용하는 광대역 위성 시스템의 리턴 링크를 대상으로 최저타임슬롯 할당 체계를 제시한다. 이를 위해 먼저 clear-sky RCST와 rain-fade RCST가 존재하고 복수의 서비스 및 지연 클래스가 존재하는 광대역 위성 시스템을 대상으로 MF-TDMA 체계 하에서 최적 타임슬롯 할당 체계를 제시한다. Phase 1에서는 clear-sky TRF타임슬롯들의 집합과 rain-fade TRF타임슬롯들의 집합을 결정하고, Phase 2에서는 각 RCST의 각 서비스/지연 클래스에 할당되는 타임슬롯의 수를 결정하고, Phase 3에서는 각 RCST의 각 서비스/지연 클래스에 할당된 타임슬롯들의 스케줄을 결정한다. 마지막으로 불균등 수요 데이터를 활용하여 제시한 최적 타임슬롯 할당 체계의 성능을 분석한다. 성능 분석 결과 제시한 최적 타임슬롯 할당 체계는 빠른 시간 내에 최적해 또는 최적해와 아주 가까운 해를 안정적으로 구한다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다.
