  • To develop railway industry's competitive, it is necessary to develop the high-quality manpower who will contribute to the public service and the railway business. To achieve this goal, it is required to create the new university curriculum focused on the railway engineering. In near future, it must be required to secure the high-quality railway engineers for. improving and developing its technologies. The purpose of this research is that improving competitive in the railway industry by developing new curriculum for the railway engineers.

  • In order to get the maintenance work for the normal operation of rail vehicles made safe maintenance training, which looked suffered direct physical train maintenance environment, gain experience to get out foster the practical skills, but experience the real maintenance in operational problems the maintenance procedures followed are difficult to be. So it can gain experience and knowledge of the actual maintenance work in safe conditions if you apply a simulation experience in a similar environment as possible to the actual train maintenance training can also reduce operational training costs. For a description of the current domestic and simulation programs of the railway sector it has been operating in overseas and is designed to train intensive training, maintenance and maintenance-related information is scarce situation. In this study, the contents of the theory of educational technology for effective training of train maintenance elements exhibit theory, theory of learning situations, designed to train maintenance training simulation through a previous study that investigated the problem-based learning theory.

  • 본 논문에서는 열차 정비 사고를 예방하기 위한 정비교육 시뮬레이션 시스템을 설계하고자 한다. 현재 운용되고 있는 철도관련 시뮬레이터 현황에 대해 분석하고 학습효과를 높이기 위해 열차 장치에 대한 기본 개념과 장치 정비 절차를 직접 학습할 수 있는 두 가지의 파트로 구성되며 두 번째 파트에는 교육공학 이론을 적용하여 VIEW모드와 TEST모드로 나누어 공부와 평가를 통해 학습할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 정비 교육 시뮬레이션이 운용된다면 안전한 상황에서 실무경험 능력 향상에 도움이 되는 학습을 할 수 있으며 정비교육에 대한 운영비용도 절감되는 효과를 기대할 수 있다.

Railway Boom and the Emergence of Mechanical Engineers in England ("철도붐"과 영국 기계 엔지니어의 사회적 등장)

  • This paper examines the emergence of mechanical engineers in the technological and social context of professionalization in England. Despite their technological progress, most steam engine wrights and machine tool builders were individual workshop owners working to order in the early 19th century. In the 1830s and 1840s, however, the railway boom produced so called railway engineers by providing them with some managerial experience as the canal building did in civil engineering. Railway engineers played a dominant role to establish the Institute of Mechanical Engineers(IME) in 1848. It was IME that stated what is a mechanical engineer and helped its members be in the similitude of the civil engineers in social and technological activities.

  • The rolling stocks of KORAIL are KTX, Saemaulho Multiple Unit(PP), New Electrical Locomotive(DL), Electrical Locomotive(EL), Diesel Locomotive, Metropolitan Commuter Train(CDC), VVVF and Resistance Controlled Multiple Unit, etc. EMU with the maximum speed of 150km/h is under the test run at the moment. Electrical Multiple Units for mainlines with 180km/h speed are supposed to be introduced as a substitute for Saemaulho Multiple Unit which is scheduled to be out of service. But the specification standard for the control board design of train driver's cab does not exist and there is no a study for layout and type of controlling device with driver's ergonomical approach. That's why the types of controller and operating are different from rolling stocks, which has high possibility of driver's human error and needs education whenever a new car comes in. Based on the opinion poll of drivers, design specification of safety engineering and ergonomics for controlling devices and safety facilities can improve exact control for devices and deal quickly with an emergency so as to improve rolling stock safety and operational efficiency.

Construction of High-Speed Railway Based Living Zone Considering High-order Service Accessibility: focused on comparison between Chungcheong, Yeongnam, Honam and Gangwon Region (고차 서비스 접근성을 고려한 고속철도 연계형 생활권 구축에 관한 연구 -충청권, 영남권, 호남권, 강원권 비교를 중심으로-)

  • In a situation where population decline is intensifying, the decline of local mid-small sized cities is emerging as a social problem. The decline will increase the difficulty of supplying demand-based living services. Therefore, increasing accessibility to living services is important for quality of life. With this background, the purpose of this study is to derive living zones that can use high-order services in metropolitan cities through high-speed railway. To this end, the behaviors of residents in mid-small sized cities were investigated through a questionnaire, and living zones and vulnerable areas were derived through a GIS analysis. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, most of the residents had experience using cultural, medical, shopping, and educational services in metropolitan cities. Second, the time required to visit a metropolitan city for the use of higher-order services was about 2 hours, and the desired time was about 50 minutes. Third, when accessibility is improved, the willingness to use the higher-order service of the metropolitan city is high. Fourth, many regions have been derived as living zones where services of metropolitan cities can be used through high-speed rail. Lastly, the major vulnerable areas were found to be the northern area of the Gangwon region, the northern area of the Yeongnam region, the west coast of Chungnam, and the border area of Jeonnam and Gyeongnam.

Survey on water utilization status and saving mind for water demand management (물 수요관리를 위한 물 사용실태 및 물 절약 설문조사)

  • The results of the survey on water utilization status, the wasted water factor, the awareness, and the education and promotional activities of water saving in Daejeon City are as follows: The percentage of using tap valve with a closure was 66% when showering. 74% of water was used with closing the tap valve when washing faces with no water needed, it was still considered that there existed a wasting water. The most wasting reasons of water were found to be shower, bath, and laundry in order. In the awareness of practicing tap water saving, 9.1% of respondents acted actively, 53.4% of them were trying to practice it, and more than 63% had a positive awareness. In the contents of practicing saving water, locking water when soaping while showering, non-laundry of small quantity, and using cups when brushing teeth were top priorities. About 50% of the reasons for saving water was to practice purely saving water, when saving for economic help was excluded. The level of water saving awareness was not high when considering that the ratio of usage without water saving equipment and installation, and using method was relatively high when moving in. In order to make usage of water saving equipment more common, it was deemed necessary to provide information on the purchase of water saving equipment and to promote and educate the efficiency of saving of related products. More than about 90% of the respondents responded that water saving education or promotional activities had an effect of improving water saving awareness. The most effective method of education and promotional activities was found to be 40.4% by mass media activities, and 21.7% by promotions through mobile devices.

Numerical Study on the Super Sonic Phenomenon of Compressed Air according to the Flow Path Conditions (유로조건에 따른 압축공기 초음속 유동 현상의 해석 연구)

  • The braking force for a train is generally provided by compressed air. The pressure valve system that is used to apply appropriate braking forces to trains has a complex flow circuit. It is possible to make a channel shape that can increase the flow efficiency by 3D printing. There are restrictions on the flow shape design when using general machining. Therefore, in this study, the compressed air flow was analyzed in a pressure valve system by comparing flow paths made with conventional manufacturing methods and 3D printing. An analysis was done to examine the curvature magnitude of the flow path, the diameter of the flow path, the magnitude of the inlet and reservoir pressure, and the initial temperature of the compressed air when the flow direction changes. The minimization of pressure loss and the uniformity of the flow characteristics influenced the braking efficiency. The curvilinear flow path made through 3D printing was advantageous for improving the braking efficiency compared to the rectangular shape manufactured by general machining.

Establishment Model of Entrance and Exit User of Urban Railway Station (도시철도역 출입구 유출입 이용자 추정 모형 수립)

  • Although the number of users of urban railways is greatly influenced by the land use plan around the railway station, Korea has been studying this problem in a small scale, so that the entrance width is uniformly calculated irrespective of the land use plan, And there is little deviation. Therefore, this study aims to establish a demand estimation model for the entrance and exit of urban railway stations. For this purpose, the demand, land use area, and socioeconomic indicators for each of the 20 urban railway stations were surveyed at 200m and 500m Regression model. The model is based on the assumption that the dependent variable (response variable) of the model is set to 1 day, peak 1 hour, peak time 5 minutes, Education, and park) and socioeconomic indicators (population, employer, employee, and student) as independent variables (explanatory variables). As a result, it was analyzed that the fit of the model is more statistically significant when the use area of the land use by 500 meters of the center radius of the city rail is used as an independent variable and the demand for the daily use of the railway station is used as a dependent variable. The purpose of this study is to estimate the optimal size of urban railway entrance in order to improve the mobility of the user and the transportation weak in urban railway station.
