  • 본 논문에서는 현대사회에서 응용분야가 광범위하고, 높은 인식율과 빠른 처리속도를 위하여 많은 연구가 진행되어왔던 오프라인 필기체 인식 중 디지털 펜을 위한 새로운 필기체 문자 인식 시스템과 이를 이용한 화상 채팅 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템의 문자 인식에 필요한 처리는 체인코드에 기반하며 유니코드와 획 코드를 이용하여 처리하는 필기체 문자 인식 시스템으로, 일반적으로 터치 패널이 없는 데스크 탑 과 노트북에서도 터치 펜 기능을 가능하게 하는 디지털 펜을 위한 필기체 문자 인식 시스템이며 화상 채팅은 WSAEventSelect Model을 사용하여 제작한 시스템이다.

  • 최근 안드로이드 기반 어플리케이션 시장이 활성화됨에 따라 그중 가장 주목받고 있는 기술인 LBS에 대한 최근 동향과 관련연구를 소개한다. 이후 '위치기반 동적 위치감지 및 표시기능'이 가능한 보이스 채팅 어플리케이션을 개발하고, 이에 사용된 LBS이용 부분의 구현 내용 및 알고리즘을 소개하고자 한다. 현재위치를 동적으로 감지하여 실시간으로 채팅방 생성이 가능하며 그 채팅방에 접속한 제한된 멤버간의 보이스 채팅이 가능한 SIC는 사용자들로 하여금 관심사가 같은 사람들 간의 간편한 의사 소통을 가능하도록 제공하여 기존보다 손쉽고 간편하며 친근한 커뮤니케이션을 제공한다.

Chatting-based Commerce Platform Enabling Non-Volatile Social Curation Service (비휘발적 소셜 큐레이션 서비스가 가능한 대화형 상거래 플랫폼 개발)

  • The social curation service that selectively provides information generated by individuals or groups with the same interests can have a synergistic effect when combined with the recently used SNS-based chatting function. If these kinds of chatting-based curation technologies are applied to the Internet shopping malls, particularly, buyers can obtain more reliable information in real time basis, and sellers can provide them with more differentiated and rich information in a continuous manner. This research suggests a chatting-based commerce platform that provides the social curation service based on chats among sellers, existing buyers, and potential buyers. The proposed commerce platform can organize a chat channel for each store and product not only to immediately respond to new and existing customer inquiries about stores, brands, and detailed products, but also to continuously activate differentiated sales strategies to customers subscribed to the channel. In particular, MongoDB is used to permanently save and archive the information and chatting history of each channel, so that the buyer can search and refer to them recorded in the corresponding channel at any time.

  • Recently varieties of user groups are formed as the number of people using cyber chatting gets increased and there are many changes in the range and field of its use. But because most of the cyber chatting systems are being operated to enlarge the additional sonics use, the using environments are stereotyped. And as its function is being various as well, it can not provide with a user-centered environment. So this thesis compares and analyzes the problems derived from the usability evaluation for solving the problems in using cyber chatting systems, and presents the guidelines of emotion-intended user interface design for improving the usability as the result of the analysis. First, this study investigates cyber chatting systems as a means of web communication tools through the existing literatures. Secondly, this study finds out the problems in using them through satisfaction evaluation, heuristic evaluation, performance evaluation, and observation evaluation and presents a way of solving the provisional problems in using them as the analysis of the result of usability evaluation. And this was proceeded for the purpose of applying and activating the better usability evaluation of cyber chatting systems later. Through the usability evaluation, it is found out that the structuralization of chatting function, the screen visibility by the size and arrangement of the compositional elements of a screen, and the improvement and development of the proper metaphor use of images and functions by the communication environment are necessary.

A Study on the Use of Artificial Intelligence Chatbots for Improving English Grammar Skills (영어 문법 실력 향상을 위한 인공지능 챗봇 활용에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of the use of artificial intelligence chatbots on improving Korean college students' English grammar skills. 70 undergraduate students participated in the present study. They were taking a General English class offered by a university in Korea. There were two groups in this study. Participants in the chatbot group consisted of 36 students while those in the human group were 34. Over 16 weeks, the chatbot group engaged in ten chat sessions with a chatbot while the human group had a chat with a human chat partner. Both pre- and post-tests were performed to examine changes in the participants' grammar skills over time. To compare the improvement between the two groups, an independent t-test was then run. Main findings are as follows: First, participants in both groups significantly improved their English grammar skills, indicating the beneficial effects of engaging in chat. Also, there was a statistically significant difference in the improvement between the chatbot and human groups, indicating the superior effects of the chatbot use. This study confirmed the improved grammar skills by the participants in the chatbot group, comparison with those in the human group. Based on these findings, suggestions for the future chatbot study are discussed.

  • As the number of personal broadcasting contents is rapidly increasing, the demand for a service that provides highlights is growing. A highlight, a collection of interesting scenes, can improve the quality of viewing experience. In this paper, we propose a method to automatically detect highlights using only chat traffic information. We also propose evaluation methods the effectiveness of using chat traffic in highlight detection. We apply the detection algorithm to game broadcasting, which has larger audience, and demonstrate its performance.

Motivators and Demotivators of Chat Reference Service (채팅을 통한 정보봉사 서비스의 이용자 동기화 및 비동기화 요인)

  • The Purpose of this study was to discover the factors which motivate academic library users to use chat reference service and which demotivate academic library users to use chat reference service. To achieve the study purposes, this study conducted interview with the selected participants (Information Studies graduate students at Florida State University(FSU)) through email in April and May 2007. This study found that 1) convenience, 2) anonymity, and 3) inexpensiveness of the service served as incentives(motivators) for chat reference service consumers to use the service. On the other hand, chat reference service consumers mentioned the following factors as obstacles (demotivators) for using the service: 1) waiting time, 2) accessibility, 3) interface design, and 4) difficulties with expressing themselves in a virtual space.

  • IM(Instant Messenger) chatting service can carry user's various information including life style, geographical position, and psychology & crime history and thus forensic analysis on the IM service is desirable. But, forensic analysis for KakaoTalk's chatting service is not well studied yet. For this reason, we study KakaoTalk's forensic analysis focusing on chatting service. This paper first details a general method of IM forensics investigating the previous articles about IM forensics although there are not many articles. Second, we discuss methodologies for IM forensics wherein we present analysis of table structure and method for reconstruction of chatting message. These result in the basic element of forensic tools of KakaoTalk chatting message. Last, we compare artifacts of KakaoTalk with that of WhatsApp. We conclude that these applications are, at least, different in that table structures and the ways to reconstruct chatting messages are not same and therefore digital evidences or artifacts are not same and somewhat distinct.

Achieving and Reasoning about Common Beliefs based on Social Networking Services: on the Group Chatting Model of KakaoTalk (소셜 네트워크에서 공통믿음의 형성과 추론: 카카오톡 채팅방을 중심으로)

  • Theoretically, it is known that common beliefs and/or common knowledge cannot be attained in asynchronously distributed multiagent environments, however, it show that some propositions with deadlines can be attained as common beliefs among a set of fully trusted agents even when they communicate to each other asynchronously. Generally, in the multiagent environment, the attainment of common beliefs is approached as a problem of communication, and for the common beliefs paradox that the common beliefs is not attained on a system without communication time restriction is applied to loose coarser granularity and it prove that forming common beliefs is possible by relaxing necessary requirements through the KakaoTalk chatting model. I also experimented with the reasoning function that confirms the common beliefs by inquiring about the common belief generated by implementing the inference function in each agent of the KakaoTalk chatting model. Through utilizing metalogic programming, a formalization of the presentation and reasoning of common beliefs has been achieved, and the group chatting model of KakaoTalk was adopted in experiments to show that common beliefs can be formed among distributed agents using asynchronous communication.

  • 채팅 시스템은 사람이 사용하는 자연어를 이용해 컴퓨터와 대화를 하는 시스템이다. 한국어 특성상 대화체에서 동일한 의미를 가졌지만 다른 형태를 가진 경우가 많다. 본 논문에서는 Attention mechanism Encoder-Decoder Model을 사용해 한국어 특성에 맞는 효과적인 생성 모델을 만들 수 있는 입력, 출력 단위를 제안한다. 실험에서 정성 평가와 ROUSE, BLEU 평가를 진행한 결과 형태소 단위의 입력 보다 본 논문에서 제안한 색인어 입력 단위의 성능이 높고, 의사 형태소 단위 출력 보다 음절 단위 출력을 사용한 시스템이 더 문법적 오류가 적고 적합한 응답을 생성하는 것을 보였다.
