  • 전력선을 이용하여 신뢰성 높은 데이터 통신을 하기 위해서는 다양한 변복조 방법 및 채널코딩의 적용이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 변복조 및 채널코딩중에서 FSK 변복조와 HDLC코딩 방식을 적용하여 데이터 통신 시 발생하는 신호감쇠와 잡음을 제거하고, 신뢰성 있는 데이터 전송환경을 구축하기 위해 전력선 통신용 모뎀을 CPLD를 바탕으로 한 ASIC으로 구현하고 실제환경에 적용하였다.

Performance Optimization of Tandem Source-Channel Coding Systems Employing Unequal Error Protection Under Complexity Constraints (복잡도 제한 하에서 비균등 오류 보호 기법을 사용하는 탠덤 소스-채널 코딩 시스템의 성능 최적화)

  • Between tandem source-channel coding systems and joint source-channel coding systems, it has been known that there is a complexity threshold in complexity versus performance. In this paper, by expanding the previous analysis for equal error protection systems, we analyze and compare the performance under complexity constrains for tandem source-channel coding systems which employ unequal error protection. Under a given complexity constraint, the optimization is performed to minimize the end-to-end distortion of each representative tandem and joint source-channel coding system. The results show that the complexity threshold for unequal error protection systems becomes smaller and the performance enhancement of unequal error protection systems over equal error protection systems gets smaller as the system complexity gets larger.

  • In this paper, we design on nonliner 3 user Dirty Paper Precoding for MIMO adjacant interference signal cancellation based on 3 GPP LTE Release 10. In this paper, in order to reduce the inter-channel interference at the transmitted side, we propose the Dirty Paper Precoding scheme for 3-user MIMO wireless systems using LQ decomposition and Gram-Schmidt algorithm based in its orthonormal basis.

  • Underwater communication is affected by reverberation and noise characteristics of the underwater channel and time delay takes place by multipath. Hence, Signal is distorted and a lot of error is generated in the transmitting/receiving by multipath effects, so a channel coding for error correction is required. We propose a channel coding algorithm which is possible to correct error of received signal. We compare and analyze BER(bit error rate) performance depending on the depth of each transmitter-receiver using channel coding algorithm. QPSK was used as a modulation method, and 1/2 code rate convolution coding was used as a coding rate. A convolution coding method shows increase of BER performances.

  • Previous work only focuses on a maximization of network coding opportunity since it can reduce the number of packets in network system. However, it can make congestion in a relay node as each source node may transmit each packet with the maximum transmission rate based on the channel qualities. Therefore, in this paper, we propose CmNC (Congestion minimized Network Coding over unreliable wireless links) performing opportunistic network coding to guarantee the network coding gain with the consideration of the congestion and channel qualities. The relay node selects the best network code set based on the objective function for reducing the packet loss and congestion via a dynamic programming. With Qualnet simulations, we show CmNC is better up to 20% than the previous work.

Intra-session Network Coding for Improving Throughput in Multi-Radio Multi-Channel Multi-Hop Wireless Networks (멀티라디오/멀티채널 멀티 홉 무선 네트워크에서 처리율 향상을 위한 인트라세션 네트워크 코딩)

  • We present a network coding scheme which is designed for improving throughput in multi-hop wireless network with multi-radio multi-channel. The co-channel interference and unreliability of wireless transmissions cause the wireless network to reduce throughput. In wireless network, multi-radio multi-channel technology shows benefit to cut down channel interferences and contentions. And network coding can reduce the complexity of scheduling and improve throughput by increasing usage of links in wireless network. In this paper, we propose a method of channel assignment and transmission scheduling in intra-session network coding that efficiently improve throughput for multi-hop wireless network by using mathematical modeling and linear programming. Moreover, we evaluate the performance of the intra-session network coding scheme by using AMPL with CPLEX. The simulation results show that intra-session network coding can achieve better throughput than traditional routing.

A Study on the Binary-Coded Physical-Layer Network Coding with High-Order Modulation Techniques (고차원 변조방식을 적용한 이진 부호화된 물리계층 네트워크 코딩에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a binary-coded physical-layer network coding (PNC) is considered when high-order modulation techniques are used at source nodes in wireless communication environments. In the conventional PNC schemes, tight power control and phase compensation are required at a relay node. However, they may not be feasible in practical wireless communication environments. Thus, we do not assume the pre-equalization in this paper, and we only utilize the channel state information at receiver (CSIR). We propose a signal detection method for the binary-coded PNC with high-order modulation, such as QPSK and 16QAM, at the source nodes, while the conventional scheme only consider the BPSK at source nodes. We also analyze the bit-error performance of the proposed technique in both uncoded and coded cases.

  • Physical layer network coding (PNC) was first introduce by Zhang et al. for two-way relay channels (TWRCs). By utilizing the PNC, we can complete two-way communications within two time slots, instead of three time slots required in non-PNC systems. Recently, the upper and lower bounds for a bit error rate (BER) of PNC have been analyzed for fading channels. In this paper, we derive an exact BER of the PNC for the TWRC over fading channels. We determine decision regions based on the nearest neighbor rule and partition them into several wedge areas to apply the Craig's polar coordinate form for computing the BER. We confirm that our derived analysis accurately matches with the simulation results.

Linear Precoding Based on the Imperfect CSI Without Knowing the CSI Reliability (신뢰도를 모르는 불완전한 채널 정보에 기초한 선형 프리코딩)

  • We propose a linear precoding scheme combining the merits of beamforming and orthogonal space-time block coding based on the imperfect CSI without knowing the CSI reliability. We first investigate the impact of the CSI reliability on precoding performance by assuming various values of the CSI reliability. Then, we propose a method of predicting the CSI reliability based on the received SNR for the design of an efficient precoder. We show the efficiency of the proposed scheme by simulation.

  • Much recent work has been done in the two related areas of source coding for data compression, and channel coding for data storage, respectively. We propose two (0, k) run-lengh limited(RLL) data compression codes for the storage that combine source and channel coding. It was shown that the propsoed codes approach the maximum code rate of (0, k) code as k increase. Thus, the overall code rate of storage system can be increased by using the combined source/channel coding as compared to the conventional 8/9 code which is popular in hard drive systems Functhermore, one can also reduce the complexity of modulation coding procedure by using already RLL constrained data.
