A Suggestion of Cognitive Model of Scientific Creativity (CMSC) (과학적 창의성 모델의 제안 -인지적 측면을 중심으로-)

  • Creative thinking alone can not lead to scientific creativity. Scientific knowledge and scientific inquiry skills are needed for scientific creativity. Focused only on cognitive aspect, I suggested a cognitive model of scientific creativity (CMSC) consisting of 3 components: thinking for scientific creativity, scientific knowledge contents, and scientific inquiry skills. Recently, many researchers have emphasized the various thinking for creativity as well as divergent thinking. Therefore, I suggested three types of creative thinking - divergent thinking, convergent thinking, and associational thinking - and discussed its rationale. Based on this model, an example of activity material for the scientific creativity was suggested. In the further research, based on CMSC, various activity types related to scientific creativity and concrete learning materials for scientific creativity will be developed.

  • The importance of business problem-solving creativity (BPSC) becomes crucial much more as competitive situations go on in the market. However, how to assess the BPSC remains an unsolved research issue yet in the literature. In this sense, this study proposes an exploratory analysis of the BPSC from the view of neuro-science experiments called fNIRS. The fNIRS represents a functional near-infrared spectroscopy, a new type of neuro-science research paradigm. This study proposes an exploratory level of how to conduct the fNIRS-based experiments to analyze the BPSC.

The Effects of Service Employee Market Orientation on Service Creativity: A Cross-National Comparative Study between Korea and Japan (서비스 종업원의 시장지향성이 서비스 창의성에 미치는 영향: 한국과 일본 호텔 서비스 종업원의 비교)

  • This research explored the main and interactive effects of service employee market orientation, service creativity, and national culture(Korea and Japan). To test the hypotheses, responses were collected from 196 Korean and 195 Japan hotel service employee samples. The results showed that service employee market orientation(customer orientation, competitor orientation, and interfunctional coordination) has a positive relationship with service creativity. Also, national culture moderates the relationship between service employee market orientation and service creativity, thereby implying the positive relationship between competitor orientation and service creativity is stronger in Korea than in Japan. In contrast, the positive relationship between interfunctional coordination and service creativity is stronger in Japan than in Korea. Theoretical implications of our findings and practical recommendations for how to address the impact of market orientation on service creativity are discussed.

  • The gift program developed at KEDI is based on Enrichment Triad Model. The output of the students who completed Enrichment Triad Model has to be new and useful in creative knowledge. However, most of the students' output has been the summaries of what is learned that they were not creatively developed as experts' would be. Thus, this study follows the KEDI's guideline for developing gift program so that it could give suggestion on how to develop students' research skills when developing and applying gift program.

Educational Method of Algorithm based on Creative Computing Outputs (창의적 컴퓨팅 산출물 기반 알고리즘 교육 방법)

  • Various types of SW education are being operated by universities for non-major undergraduates. And most of them focus on educating computational thinking. Following this computing education, there is a need for an educational method that implements and evaluates creative computing outcomes for each student. In this paper, we propose a method to realize SW education based on creative computing artifacts. To do this, we propose an educational method for students to implement digital logic circuit devices creatively and design SW algorithms that implement the functions of their devices. The proposed training method teaches a simple LED logic circuit using an Arduino board as an example. Students creatively design and implement two pairs of two input logic circuit devices, and design algorithms that represent patterns of implemented devices in various forms. And they design the functional extension and extended algorithm using the input device. By applying the proposed method, non-major students can gain the concept and necessity of algorithm design through creative computing artifacts.

  • In the revision of the national curriculum, various creative activities and career activities are highlighted under the goal of fostering creative talent. Following the implementation of this policy, which is represented by creative activities, teachers are burdened with comprehensive responsibilities, such as planning and executing safety procedures and preventing accidents. Existing systems for teacher management had limitations that allowed only the provision of standardized information and management. The main purpose of this study is to help teachers manage their classes systematically through a class management system. The teachers' overall management system includes several functions, such as checking students' locations, registering students' reviews, or registering various kinds of activities for the creative experiential activities of the curriculum. This system not only helps teachers to systematically manage the creative experiential activities, but also allows teachers to share the history of their activities with each other. Furthermore, this system will be helpful in achieving the objectives of the revised curriculum.
