  • The gait characteristics and shapes of human foot are changed by their diseases and habits. Especially, it is known that the size and shape of foot of the elderly(aged) differ from these of youth foot, because of muscle degeneration and wearing footwear for a long time. Therefore, to design and make last for the elder footwear, anthropometric data measured elder feet and classified their foot type will be necessary. Nevertheless, elder footwear has been designed and made by using the same last of the youth. Therefore, to design elder footwear, we measured 49 anthropometric data on foot of the 252 elderly males and females, and classified their foot shape and type according to FI(foot index) and MPA(matarars-phalanx angle) in this study. The results showed that the elderly has a tendency of slenderizing on foot compare to the youth, and elderly females have more deformed foot type than elderly males. The results can be provided as basic information to the design of elder footwear.

This contents are divided into two parts; the dress shirt's wearing condition and the dress shirt's buying condition. The subjects of the research were male that aged 25-50 and their company is resided in Seoul. The conclusion of this research is summarized as below ; 1. Many consumers have wrong term recognition of dress shirt. Most of men know their dress shirt's sizing designation as casual method(ex, $\cdots$95, 100$\cdots$). Therefore it is happened fitness complains. Dress shirt's wearing frequency for a week is 1-2 days or 5days mostly. A number of dress shirt’s wearing period for one is 6-12 months. Dress shirt‘s wearing frequency fand wearing period varies according to their age, unmarried or married situation, scholarship, occupation. So the manufacturer of men's dress shirt grasps the factor's for their character. 2. The conclusion of dress shirt's buying motivation is need better than impulse buying. If company planning season event, the selling will be improved. Most of men buy their dress shirt by themselves. It means a lot of men are interested in their clothes comparing to old days. And men's favorite purchase place is a department store and agent. when they purchasing, the color and size is very important factor. But dress shirt's sizing designation is not yet established. Therefore the dress shirt's sizing designation is needed as possible.

  • This paper is a study on the design and realization of Pedestrian navigation service system for the visually impaired. As it is an user interface considering visually impaired, voice recognition functioned smartphone was used as the input tool and the Osteoacusis headset, which can vocally guide directions while recognizing the surrounding environment sound, was used as the output tool. Unlike the pre-existing pedestrian navigation smartphone apps, the developed system guides walking direction by the scale of the left and right stereo sound of the headset wearing, and the voice guidance about the forked or curved path is given several meters before according to the speed of the user, and the user is immediately warned of walking opposite direction or proceeding off the path. The system can acquire stable and reliable directional information using the motion tracker with the dynamic heading accuracy of 1.5 degrees. In order to overcome GPS position error, we proposed a robust trajectory planning algorithm for position error. Experimental results for the developed system show that the average directional angle error is 6.82 degrees (standard deviation: 5.98) in the experimental path, which can be stated that it stably navigated the user relatively.

  • In this study, a fully active transfemoral prothesis with a knee joint is designed considering stair walking conditions. Since the torque at the knee joint required for stair walking condition is relative high compared with the one in normal walking condition, the proposed design has high torque generating mechanism. Moreover, the transfemoral prothesis is designed in compact size to reduce its weight, which is related to comfortable fit and fatigue of patients. Flat type BLDC motor is used for simple and compact structure and various components are used to generate required torque with target working angle and speed. The weight reduction of structure is carried out using optimization method after the initial design process is complete. The optimization is conducted under the load conditions of stair walking. The optimized design is validated via finite element analysis and experiments. As a result, the weight is reduced using topology and shape optimization but maintaining the safety of structure. Also the space efficiency is improved due to its compact size.
