  • 도로의 기능은 사람이나 물품을 한 장소에서 다른 장소로 신속하게 이동하기 위한 통로로 이용되어져 왔으며, 이로 인하여 도로이용자들은 도로의 기능적인 측면, 즉 내구성 및 공용성이 중시되어왔다. 그러나 최근에는 삶의 질의 향상으로 인해 기능적인 편리뿐만 아니라 도로에서도 심미적인 고려의 필요성이 제기되어왔다. 따라서 도로연구자들은 다양한 방법 등으로 경관포장 연구를 추진하였으며, 이의 결과물로 칼라블록, 칼라아스팔트포장 등의 경관포장재의 개발이 이루어졌다. 하지만 기존 기술 등은 표현 및 내구성의 한계로 인하여 많은 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이를 위해 본 고에서는 새로운 착색기초재 및 이를 활용한 착색포장공법을 소개하고자하며, 이를 통해 새로운 경관포장공법을 제시하고자 한다.

알루미늄 양극산화 피막의 색조에 미치는 전해 인자의 영향

  • 알루미늄은 내식성, 내마모성과 같은 물리적, 화학적 성질이 우수하지 못하여 이를 향상시키기 위해서 양극산화법이 산업적으로 널리 사용되고 있다. 알루미늄 양극산화법을 적용하면 강도, 내마모성 및 내식성이 향상될 뿐만 아니라 알루미늄 표면에 규칙적으로 배열된 30nm~100nm 크기의 pore에 염료를 흡착시켜 다양한 색상의 외관을 가지는 양극산화피막을 형성시킬 수 있다. Pore간의 간격은 수십nm~수백nm 정도이며, pore의 크기와 간격 및 깊이는 양극산화조건(양극산화 전압, 전해액의 종류와 농도 및 온도)에 의해 크게 변화된다. 또한 염료의 농도와 착색 시간에 따라서 양극산화 피막의 색조가 변화되는 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 양극산화피막의 색조에 미치는 전해조건의 영향을 조사하고, 분광측색계를 사용하여 산화피막의 색조를 정량적으로 분석하고 또한 산화피막의 pore에 흡착된 염료를 정량분석하기 위해서 UV-visible을 사용하여 분석하였다. Al5052 합금을 이용하여 에칭, 양극산화, 착색처리, 봉공(sealing)처리를 실시하였다. $55^{\circ}C$ 100g/L NaOH 용액에서 에칭을, $25^{\circ}C$ 10 vol.% $HNO_3$ 용액에서 디스머트를 실시한 다음, $25^{\circ}C$ 10 vol.% $H_2(SO_4)$ 용액에서 15V의 정전압으로 양극산화를 실시하였다. 이후, $55^{\circ}C$ 5~8g/L의 오렌지, 블랙 착색염료(일본 OKUNO 사(社)의 TAC-LH(301), TAC-BLH(411))를 사용하여 착색처리를, $85^{\circ}C$ 초산니켈 수용액에서 봉공처리를 실시하였다. 착색조건으로는 양극산화 시간(5분, 10분, 15분, 20분), 착색 시간(15초, 1분, 2분, 5분) 및 착색 농도(오렌지 -2.5g/L, 5g/L, 7.5g/L, 블랙 - 4g/L, 8g/L, 12g/L)를 변화시켰으며, 산화피막의 색조를 정량 분석하기 위해 분광측색계를 사용하였고 흡착된 염료의 농도를 정량 분석하기 위해서 $55^{\circ}C$, 1M NaOH에 재용해하여 UV-visible로 흡광도를 측정하였다. 양극산화피막의 색조는 양극산화 시간이 길어질수록, 착색시간이 길어질수록, 착색농도가 진할수록 산화피막에 흡착되는 염료의 양이 증가하며 색조가 더 선명해지고 진해지는 것을 확인하였다. 이를 분광측색계로 분석하였을 때 각 전해조건하에서 경향성을 나타내었다. 또한 흡광도 측정을 통해 계산한 염료의 양과 전해조건의 상관관계를 조사하였다. 양극산화 시간이 길어지면 산화피막의 두께가 증가하여 염료가 흡착될 수 있는 표면적이 넓어지고, 착색 시간이 길어지면 동일한 산화피막에 더 많은 염료가 흡착이 된다. 그리고 착색 농도가 진할수록 동일면적, 동일시간 하에서 더 많은 염료가 흡착되어 결과적으로 전해조건이 강해질수록 산화피막의 색조가 진해지는 것으로 판단된다.

Utilization of Resin Infiltration for Prolonging of Tooth Whitening Effects (치아 미백 효과의 장기화를 위한 Resin Infiltration의 활용)

  • The present study aimed to evaluate the validity of resin infiltration in improving color stability after tooth whitening. Enamel samples were extracted from 40 healthy bovine upper incisors, and primary staining and whitening were performed. After that, specimens were randomly divided into 3 groups : resin infiltration group (n = 15, RI group), resin adhesive group (n = 15, RA group), and control group (n = 10). Secondary staining was performed on all samples. Coloration was assessed 5 times as follows: initial color, immediately after staining, after whitening, after resin application, and after secondary staining. Color was measured using a spectrophotometer and recorded by using the CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ color space. The color changes after primary staining for the RI, RA, and control groups were $12.16{\pm}3.50$, $12.16{\pm}3.38$, and $15.81{\pm}6.39$, whereas those after secondary staining were $15.21{\pm}7.19$, $15.93{\pm}4.31$, and $26.62{\pm}17.89$. Color changes after secondary staining showed a significant difference between the RI and control groups. In the within-group comparison between primary and secondary staining, there was no significant difference found in the RI group only (p = 0.26). The results suggest that Color stability after tooth whitening can be improved using resin infiltration.

Effects of Foliar Spray of Calcium Salts and Ethephon on the Fruit Quality of Satsuma Mandarin (Citrus unshiu Marc. Miyagawa wase) in the Plastic Greenhouse (Ethephon과 Ca제제 혼용 엽면살포에 의한 플라스틱하우스에서 재배된 온주밀감의 품질향상 효과)

  • This experiment was carried out to examine the effects of foliar applications of 100 mg.L$^{-1}$ ethephon mixed with different calcium formulae (10,000 mg.L$^{-1}$ Clef-non, 2,000 mg.L$^{-1}$ Cell-bine, 2,000 mg.L$^{-1}$ Hicalux, and 2,000 mg.L$^{-1}$ calcium acetate monohydrate) on the rind coloration, defoliation and fruit quality of satsuma mandarin cultivated in the plastic greenhouse. Foliar applications of ethephon alone or in mixture with either Clef-non, Cell-bine, Hicalux or calcium acetate monohydrate demonstrated that increased 'a'value of peel chromaticity as compared to the control. The treatments encouraged fruit colour and allowed the harvest date to be predicted. The defoliation ratio decreased considerably by foliar applications of ethephon mixed with Cell-bine or Hicalux. The sugar content of fruit increased by 1.6, 1.54, and 1.54$^{\circ}$Bx with the foliar applications of ethephon, ethephon+Clef-non, and ethephon+Cell-bine, respectively. With the foliar applications of ethephon in mixture with Cell-bine, fruit coloration was accelerated. defoliation was delayed, and fruit quality was improved.

Effects of High Temperature of Pretreatment on the Color Development and Quality of Satsuma Mandarins (온주밀감의 저장전 고온 예조가 저장중 과실의 착색 및 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The experiment described in this paper focused on determining the effects of high-temperature(20$^{\circ}$) treatment of Satsuma mandarins, prior to their storage, on their color development and quality. High-temperature treatment promoted fruit skin color during the storage, decreased the weight loss regardless of their color at the time of their harvest and reduced the decay occurrence until the middle of March, but there was no difference between treatments after the end of March. There was a tendency of higher soluble solid and acid levels in the fruit when high-temperature treatment was applied but this difference was not significant.

Fruit Color Improvement by ABA Treatment and Determination of Harvesting Time in 'Hongisul' Grapes (ABA 처리를 통한 '홍이슬' 포도의 착색향상 및 적정 수확기 설정)

  • This study was carried out to improve the fruit color through ABA treatment and to determine the optimum harvest time for producing high quality fruits in 'Hongisul' grapes. Spraying of $1000 mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ exogenous ABA at early verasion (70 days after full bloom, DAFB) brought increase of endogenous ABA and soluble solid contents and enhanced fruit coloration. So, it was possible to harvest ABA treated fruits from 85 days after full bloom (15 days after treatment) by accelerated anthocyanin content which increased continuously until 110 DAFB. An increase of soluble solid and decrease of total acidity appeared steadily with the onset of berry ripening. After 100 DAFB, soluble solid content and total acidity did not change significantly, but the berry firmness was suddenly decreased. Consequently, it was suggested that ABA treated fruits need to be harvested at about 100 DAFB because of their short period of marketing by over ripening. On the contrary, harvesting of untreated fruit was totally impossible at 85 DAFB because of their poor berry coloration. But it was possible to harvest them at 100 DAFB based on the soluble solid/acidity ratio, whereas the berry coloration was progressed poorly. On the other hand, the fruits harvested at 110 DAFB showed acceptable berry coloration but their berry firmness was dropped significantly coincide with overripening. Therefore, it was needed to develop an altered production system for improving coloration at around 100 DAFB in 'Hongisul' grapes.

Improvement of Bleaching Performance of Photosensitive Electrochromic Device by the Additive of TEMPOL (TEMPOL 첨가제 적용에 의한 광감응형 전기변색 소자 탈색성능 향상)

  • We have developed photosensitive electrochromic smart windows that does not require any transparent conducting oxide (TCO) substrate. In our previous study, we demonstrated that a flexible film-type device made with a low temperature curing WO3 sol and TiO2 sol could show a reversible and rapid switching between colored and bleached state via incorporation of platinum catalysts on the surface of WO3 layer. However, when these devices were exposed to sunlight over 4 hour, it was confirmed that they did not return to fully bleached state in the darkened state due to their overcoloring process. In this study, we added 4-hydroxy-(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-yl)oxyl (TEMPOL) as an additive to the electrolyte of photosensitive electrochromic device to effectively prevent the undesired overcoloring process. The resulting device with TEMPOL indeed did not undergo excessive coloration and showed great reversibility even after being exposed to sunlight for over 4 hours. Various concentrations of TEMPOL were applied to compare changes in the visible transmittance and coloring/bleaching kinetics of devices. In terms of energetic point of view, we proposed a plausible mechanism of TEMPOL to prevent excessive coloration.

The effects of the number of times dipped in coloring liquid and final sintering temperature on flexural strength of zirconia ceramics: Zirconia ceramics having improved transparency (착색액 침지 횟수와 최종 소결 온도가 지르코니아 세라믹의 굴곡강도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of number of times dipped in coloring liquid and sintering temperature on the flexural strength of zirconia ceramic. In this study, using a zirconia block having improved transparency, specimens with size of $25mm{\times}2mm{\times}1.5mm$ were fabricated. The zirconia ceramic specimens were divided into three groups according to the number of times dipped in coloring liquid by 0, 2 and 4 times, and dyed in the coloring liquid to give color to each specimen. Then, after sintering them at the final temperature of $1,450^{\circ}C$ and $1,600^{\circ}C$, flexural strength was measured using a universal testing machine (total 6 group, n=10 for each group). Also, a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was performed to observe its microstructure, and the data obtained through the experiment were analyzed with two-way ANOVA. The results of the flexural strength analysis show that the highest value was measured $762.3{\pm}42.3MPa$ in EKL2 group, while the lowest value was $516.4{\pm}77.1MPa$ in EKH4 group. According to the results of the two-way ANOVAs, flexural strength was not related with interaction between sintering temperature and number of times dipped in coloring liquid ($R^2=0.737$). However, there were statistically significant differences in flexural strength depending on sintering temperature (P<0.001). The flexural strength of zirconia ceramics having improved transparency was dependent on sintering temperature. The number of times dipped in the coloring liquid did not affect flexural strength of the zirconia ceramic having improved transparency.
