The Refractive Index Change for Tinted Time of CR-39 Lens (CR-39 렌즈 착색시간에 따른 굴절률(n) 변화)

  • We calculated a refractive index of the lens surface by measuring a spectral reflectance for a tinted time on manufacturing of the color lens. The longer a tinted time, the larger a reflectance and reflective index. The refractive index increased for a time up to the colorant's saturation state on the lens surface. The refractive index's change curve of blue color lens for a time depended on the Boltzmann growth curve. then we obtained the parameter's values of $n_{min}=1.482$, $n_{max}=1.497$, $t_c=11.53$ and $d_0=2.287$.

  • Succeed to structural elucidation, the anthocyanins in the Korean restive Brassica juncea were quantitatively investigated. And obtained results were as follows: 1. The amount of total anthocyanins showed a little difference according to harvesting season, such as 175.5mg% in spring and 192.7mg% in autumn, as peonidin-3-glucoside. 2. By colored degree of leaf, the amount of total anthocyanins showed 290.2mg% in both side colored, 73.6mg% in one side colored and 40.0mg% in none colored as peonidin-3-glucoside. 3. The characteristic color of fresh Brassica juncea couldn't he detected with naked eyes within the limits of 40mg% of anthocyanin as peonidin-3-glucoside. 4. There were no differences with the harvesting season and the colored degree in the ratio of two kinds of anthocyanins, which was consisted of 57.3% of peonidin-3-glucoside and 44.7% of peonidin-3-galactoside.

Spectroscopic and Surface Characteristics of Tintable Hard Coating by Sol-Gel Method (졸-겔법에 의한 착색이 가능한 하드코팅의 분광 및 표면 특성)

  • Purpose: This study is to prepare tintable hard coatings for plastic lenses and to evaluate spectroscopic and surface characteristic for these coatings. Methods: These coatings had been prepared by the sol-gel method using TEOS, MTMS and GPTS. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, infrared (IR) spectroscopy and UV/VIS spectroscopy have been used to investigate the optical and structural characteristics of the coatings. Results: Tint ability of this coating was about 2 times higher than general hard coatings. The lenses applied by tintable hard coatings showed excellent adhesion, abrasion resistance, hot water resistance, and chemical resistance. Pencil hardness was 5H and the surface of coatings was smooth and free of cracks. Conclusions: This hard coating system for plastic lenses offered a hard and stable surface that could be tinted.

  • R, G, Y, B color lenses Manufactured increasing tinted time by 5 min term. CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ coordination's analysis used spectrophotometer and CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ color system. CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ coordination transfer form about tinted time being $$b^*(Y-B)={\beta}a^*+{\alpha}$$ change to do linear almost. In red case, move in $G{\rightarrow}R$, $B{\rightarrow}Y$ form tinted time increases, and Parameter ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ value got each -3.49 and 0.90. In green case, CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ coordination transfer form is $R{\rightarrow}G$, $B{\rightarrow}Y$ form. Got the pure green color color in 10 min's tinted time. Parameter ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ value got each -0.72 and -0.55. Get into pure yellow and blue color case tinted time increases. Parameter ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ value are 14.11 and 1.58 in yellow, and Parameter ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ value are -11.62 and 1.30 in blue color.

Effects of Foliar Spray of Calcium Salts and Ethephon on the Fruit Quality of Satsuma Mandarin (Citrus unshiu Marc. Miyagawa wase) in the Plastic Greenhouse (Ethephon과 Ca제제 혼용 엽면살포에 의한 플라스틱하우스에서 재배된 온주밀감의 품질향상 효과)

  • This experiment was carried out to examine the effects of foliar applications of 100 mg.L$^{-1}$ ethephon mixed with different calcium formulae (10,000 mg.L$^{-1}$ Clef-non, 2,000 mg.L$^{-1}$ Cell-bine, 2,000 mg.L$^{-1}$ Hicalux, and 2,000 mg.L$^{-1}$ calcium acetate monohydrate) on the rind coloration, defoliation and fruit quality of satsuma mandarin cultivated in the plastic greenhouse. Foliar applications of ethephon alone or in mixture with either Clef-non, Cell-bine, Hicalux or calcium acetate monohydrate demonstrated that increased 'a'value of peel chromaticity as compared to the control. The treatments encouraged fruit colour and allowed the harvest date to be predicted. The defoliation ratio decreased considerably by foliar applications of ethephon mixed with Cell-bine or Hicalux. The sugar content of fruit increased by 1.6, 1.54, and 1.54$^{\circ}$Bx with the foliar applications of ethephon, ethephon+Clef-non, and ethephon+Cell-bine, respectively. With the foliar applications of ethephon in mixture with Cell-bine, fruit coloration was accelerated. defoliation was delayed, and fruit quality was improved.

Identification of the chromophoric structure in alkali model lignin by 13C-NMR (13C-NMR에 의(依)한 알카리 모델리그닌의 착색구조(着色構造)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • On treatment with sodium hydroxide at $165^{\circ}$ for 1.5~3hr followed by air oxidation. vanillyl alcohol afforded colored materials. $^{13}C$-NMR spectrum of the material did not show any absorptions assigned to the carbons of chromophoric structures, but gave the valuable information on the chemical structures of the condensation products. On the other hand, the colored material specifically labelled by $^{13}C$ at the benzylic position was prepared by alkali treatment of vanillyl alcohol-[carbinol-$^{13}C$] followed by air oxidation, and $^{13}C$-NMR spectra of the material exhibited absorptions at 101.7 and 104.6 ppm due to the carbons of a quinonemethide structure, indicating that the quinomethide unit would be one of the important types of chromophores in which benzylic carbon of vanillyl alcohol was included.

  • 본 연구는 대한민국 매실나무 (207점)와 살구나무 (7점) 열매의 특성평가를 위하여 개체별 과피 및 과육의 착색정도를 조사하였다. 매실나무 열매의 착색상태는 아주 약함이 65점 (31.4%)으로 가장 많았으며, 다음으로 약함 (57점, 27.5%), 아주 짙음 (56점, 27.1%), 중간 (19점, 9.2%), 짙음 (10점, 4.8%)이었다. 살구나무 열매의 착색상태는 아주 짙음이 3점(42.8%)으로 가장 많았고, 다음으로 아주 약함 (2점, 28.6%), 약함과 짙음 (각각 1점, 14.3%)이었다. 매실나무 열매의 착색부위는 적음이 105점 (50.7%)으로 가장 많았으며, 다음으로 중간 (65점, 31.4%), 아주 적음(32점, 15.5%), 많음 (5점, 2.4%)이었다. 살구나무 열매의 착색부위는 아주 많음이 5점 (71.4%)으로 가장 많았고, 다음으로 중간 및 많음 (각각 1점, 14.3%)이었다. 매실나무 과육의 빛깔은 백록색이 103점 (49.8%)으로 가장 많았으며, 다음으로 연등색 (77점, 37.2%), 등색 (25점, 12.0%), 유백색 및 암등색 (각각 1점, 0.5%)이었다. 살구나무 과육의 빛깔은 등색이 4점 (57.1%)으로 가장 많았고, 다음으로 연등색 (2점, 28.6%), 백록색 (1점, 14.3%)이었다.

Determination of the Harvest Date and Ripening Phase of 'Seolhyang' Strawberry (시설재배된 설향딸기의 수확시기가 수확후 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the quality characteristics of ripe fruit based on harvest date and to examine the ripening phase of 'Seolhyang' strawberry suitable for room temperature, cold-chain, and low temperature distribution. The strawberries were harvested six times between December 20 to May 9. The appropriate maturity of strawberries is characterized by the firmness of approximately 2.9-3.0 N, and SSC remained above 8.6 °Brix until March and declined after April. The quality index values that determine the maturity stage of strawberries should be red color, Hunter a value ranging from 32 to 37, and hue angle of 36-45℃. For the after-ripening experiment, the progression rate of the ripening stage determined based on strawberry color was 10%/day at room temperature, 5%/day at 10-12℃, and 3%/day at 5℃. Thus, strawberries should be harvested at 80% coloring stage for distribution at room temperature and at least 90% for low temperature storage to maintain the merchantability. Besides, strawberries harvested at 70% coloring stage at room temperature and strawberries harvested below 80% coloring stage at low temperatures below 5℃ had lost commercial value before reaching 100% coloring stage.
