Measurement and Analysis of Deterioration in the Automobile Engine Oil (자동차용 엔진오일의 열화도 측정 및 분석)

  • This paper is aimed to develop the circuit of a coil-type oil sensor packaged to the automotive engine oil monitoring the deterioration in the driving condition and let a driver notify the optimized time for the exchange of engine oil. By applying the principle which the deterioration of automotive engine oil can be expressed to the dielectric constant, the capacitance bridge circuit and the integrator circuit are designed and packaged to a coil-typed engine oil. In this study. the range of operating temperature of engine oil is experimentally recommended within 55$^{\circ}C$ for the stability of a sensor designed. It is concluded that the characteristics of output voltage converted from the dielectric constant are linearly distributed.

  • 중대형 상용차에 널리 사용되어온 디젤엔진은 오일 쇼크 이후로 소형 상용차에까지 널리 탑재되고 있는 세계적인 추세이다. 디젤엔진은 높은 연소 압력 및 압력 상승율(Rate of Pressure Rice)로 운전되기 때문에 연소소음(Combustion Noise) 및 기계소음(Mechanical Noise)이 매우 크다. 차량 개발 개념에 있어 소음제어는 법적 규제와 소비자의 요구수준을 만족시키는 측면에서 고려되어야 한다. 차량 전체 소음에서 엔진 소음의 기여도는 약 40-50%정도이며 당연히 엔진소음 저감 대책의 필요성은 높다. 본고에서는 2.4리터 간접 분사식(IDI)디젤 엔진의 소음 저감을 위한 소음 저감 대책을 기술한다.

  • 선박 엔진 크랭크 케이스 내부의 기계 결함으로 발생하는 윤활 오일 미스트 발생은 폭발뿐만 아니라 급격한 온도와 압력상승으로 2차 폭발을 야기하는 등 큰 피해를 가져와 현재 선박용 엔진의 크랭크 케이스에 오일미스트 검출장치의 설치를 의무화 하고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 피해를 줄이기 위하여 광 산란 방식을 이용한 오일 미스트 검출장치를 구현하였으며, 구현된 오일미스트 검출 장치의 오일미스검출 센서 센싱 성능은 전기적, 광학적 그 외 환경적 요인으로 인하여 출력값이 일정하지 못해 각각의 오일미스트 검출 센서를 보정해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 크랭크케이스마다 장착되는 오일미스트 검출 센서의 오차를 최소화하기 위하여 정밀하게 Calibration된 Reference Data를 기반으로 최소자승법을 적용하여 센서를 Calibration하였으며, 그 결과 각각의 오일미스 검출센서의 오차를 기존 방법과 비교하여 최소화할 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구는 인간에게 있어서 정보의 습득으로 가장 쉬운 음성을 이용하여 자동차의 정보를 전달하는 운전자의 지원 시스템의 구현에 관한 내용으로, 제작된 시스템은 여러 가 지 입력 신호(연료량, 엔진 냉각수 온도, 오일 압력, 자동차 속도, 엔진 속도, 문 열림 경고, 안전 벨트 경고, 주차 브레이크 등)에 따라 음성 경고 문장을 발생하게 된다.

  • An efficient cooling system for a piston of an automotive engine is very important. Therefore a large capacity gasoline engine or diesel engine has adopted the direct injection cooling system to increase its cooling efficiency. In this direct cooling system, an cooling oil is injected to a piston directly using an oil jet and this cooling oil flows through an oil gallery inside the piston. Flow rate and injection accuracy of this cooling oil are very important because these are main factors that have influence on its efficiency. The purpose of this study is to understand the changes of flow characteristics with various curvatures and diameters of an outlet nozzle and to check whether engine oil enters into the oil gallery well or not. From this study, we found that secondary flow was formed in a curved part of jet due to centrifugal force and irregular flow pattern appeared at the jet outlet. This pattern has influence on flow characteristics of engine oil entering the gallery. These simulation results have a good agreement with experiments.

  • In order to improve the durability of components in the vehicle engine room, an experiment to improve the air cooling effect of components by installing a cooling duct using intake air aiming at four components, such as generator, battery, ECU and power steel oil, Respectively, experimental results show that the overall component temperature has been reduced, and the reduced temperature difference is in the order of generator, ECU, power steel oil and battery. In order to improve the temperature difference due to these components, it is necessary to optimize the design through the flow analysis in the duct in the future.

  • The retarder as a hydraulic brake system in order to assist a service brakes in commercial vehicle is operated by automatic and manual mode due to driver. Braking energy by retarder operation is transmitted to the engine radiator of vehicle cooling system, passing through the retarder oil heat exchanger. At this moment, the retarder ECU performs the function that is controlled a braking torque with consideration for automatic and manual mode, temperature of retarder oil/water, engine coolant temperature, vehicle speed, and etc. In this paper, it deals with the design of retarder control logic and the results of retarder braking performance test regarding a cooling system of retarder and vehicle.

  • In order to meet the stricter emission regulations, the proportion of after-treatments for vehicles and vessels has been increasing gradually. The objective of this study is to investigate the physicochemical properties according to ash cleaning agents of CDPF for Diesel Engines. Penetrating agents with strong penetration into ash and a surfactant component to mix water and oil were prepared properly. The cleaning characteristics of S1 sample were good. Washcoat loss rate of S1 sample was lower by about 2.2% because of less KOH component and lower Na2SiO3 content. Washcoat loss rate of S4 sample with an added KOH and Na2SiO3 components by penetration agents was increased by about 13%. In terms of less than about 13% of CDPF's washcoat loss rate, it was able to reduce the harmful gas components.

  • Several complex devices and equipments are installed in the car's engine room, including various kind of oils or other flammable materials. So re-ignition is very likely to take place in it. In addition, it is restrictive for the driver or the occupant to open the bonnet and to spray the fire extinguisher in the engine room due to the high possibility of explosion. Therefore, a fire extinguishing system, which can detect a fire and inject the fire extinguishing agent to extinguish it, and fire extinguishing agents including HFC-227ea, which can stand the high temperature within the engine room and hold the viscosity sufficient to keep it in the kind of foam, were developed and tested. And the suffocation effect and the cooling effect come from the fire extinguishing principle of the foam fire extinguishing agent and the inhibiter catalyst effect come from the one of HFC-227ea was led simultaneously, and fire extinguishing agents without the secondary damage caused by residuals after the fire extinguishment like a case of the powder fire extinguishing agent, were developed. And experiments using a vehicle collision after the discharge is complete, foreign material can be removed without extinguishing the advantage that experimental results obtained.
