Design of Dual-Polarized and Multi-Band Multi-Layer Patch Antenna (다층구조의 이중편파 다중대역 패치 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, a dual-polarized multi-band multi-layer antenna for a vehicle, which operates in the GPS, bluetooth, and DSRC bands, was implemented. The antenna was designed as a multi-layer structure, and a FR4-epoxy substrate with =4.4 and =1.6mm was used. GPS and DSRC antennas have circular polarized characteristics, and a single probe feeding method was applied. Simulated results by Ansys HFSS v11 was compared with the measured ones. The size of the optimally designed antenna is $67mm{\times}67mm{\times}4.8mm$, -10dB bandwidth of the anatenna was measured to be 820MHz, 127MHz, and 862MHz in each band, and 3dB AR bandwidth of the antenna was simulated to be 19MHz and 110MHz in GPS and DSRC bands. The results confirmed that suggested system satisfies the system requirements.

Reduced Order Luenberger State Observer Design for the Jackknifing Phenomenon Prevention of Articulated Vehicles using GPS (위성항법시스템을 이용한 연결식 차량의 잭나이핑 현상 예방을 위한 축소차수 상태관측기 설계)

  • This paper deals with ROLSO (Reduced Order Luenberger State Observer) design to prevent jackknifing phenomenon of articulated vehicles consisting of the tractor and semi-trailer by using GPS. In addition, by applying the regulator system using ROLSO feedback system, simulation's result presents that articulated vehicle's states are stabilized than the human's PR time (Preception Response time) rapidly. This simulation verifies that the automatic control of articulated vehicle's can be applied for the accident prevention for the time that the driver is unable to manage with the sudden accident. For this simulation, by using the equation of planar motion, the modeling of the articulated vehicle was performed. This modeling was expressed in the state space model. And FOLSO (Full Order Luenberger State Observer), ROLSO were designed by using the state space model of an articulated vehicle's dynamics.

  • Mobile Mapping System is an effective wav to obtain position and image using vehicle equipped with GPS(Global Positioning System), IMU(Inertial Measurement Unit), and CCD camera. It have been used various fields of load facility management, map upgrade and etc. It is difficult to upgrade Mobile Mopping System which is developed from abroad and add other sensors because we don't know the way to integrate and synchronize multi-sensors. In this paper, we present the effective way of the integration and synchronization method for multi sensors we designed and manufactured Synchronization equipment by considering sensors of laser, odometer and etc.

  • In this paper, a telematics service platform, which supports the management and diagnosis of automobile and controls the automobile's convenience equipment is designed and implemented. Using the service platform, telematics software can be developed independent of the lower part of automobiles's network devices, each hardware devices, and wireless network devices. The platform classifies each device's service and provides it with the fixed form of API(Application Programming Interface). This API consists of the wireless connection for a mobile device, the CAN network for controlling an automobile, the receiving part of GPS data for location base service, and the message parser for different data formats of different network.

  • A new model for the continuous-magnetic interferences has been proposed in this paper to remove external interferes of magnetic field to the dual electric compass. By this removal, the dual electric compass can be used for proving the azimuth angle in an automobile navigation system instead of the rate gyroscope. In the navigation system with a GPS receiver, a DR sensor such as a rate gyroscope is needed to overcome the shielded areas, which is relatively expensive and requires frequent calibrations. However the dual electric compass designed by this research is cheap and provides absolute azimuth angle precisely, which is beneficiary to be used as a DR sensor. The main contribution of this paper is that the long-lasting magnetic interferences have been removed out by using the proposed model, which never be studied before. With a hybrid navigation system using a DR sensor, we demonstrated that dual electric compass is better than a rate gyroscope in terms of both economics and performances.

  • A monitoring system for container using CPS is the system for positioning and managing containers in real time. CPS is capable of positioning the container, promptly with a reasonable amount of accuracy. Facility managers of ports or airports should have loading, unloading, and keeping freight effectively. Transport companies or freight owners should allocate moving container properly and be able to prevent the loss or delay of freight. In this study, the position and pathways of container are monitored by real-time tracking method. The absolute and relative locations of container are monitored digitally and visually from TC_loading to TC_unloading yard. It has been tested the movement of the containers equiped with GPS, and its accuracy and efficiency were analyzed.

  • The purpose of this paper is to show and define the performance, the system mechanization and the algorithm of the Strapdown Inertial Navigation System(SDINS). First, navigation equations are derived in the Earth Fixed mechanization and this mechanization apply to the two kinds of inertial measurement units which consist of same fiber optic gyros and different accelerometers(SDINS-1 and SDINS-2). Those two accelerometers have the different bias. To evaluate its performance, two kinds of tests have been performed - static motionless test, and rectangle-route moving test. The results of the moving test are compared with the results of Differential GPS which has an accuracy with ±2.0mm. and are presented in this paper.

  • Situation awareness for vehicles and pedestrians is very critical to ensure safety. While on-board sensors or systems can easily detect line-of-sight pedestrians, it is difficult to locate the positions of out-of-sight pedestrians especially with no GPS service. This paper proposes a method for accurate and on-time localization of indoor pedestrians by nearby vehicles. The proposed method is based on mobile ad-hoc networks among vehicles and pedestrians, without relying on infrastructures such as GPS, WiFi AP, and Bluetooth-based systems. Also, this paper develops a genetic algorithm to accurately and promptly locate pedestrians. Finally, simulation results are presented to quantitatively evaluate the proposed method compared to other studies.

  • In this paper, we developed the prototype of Car Navigation Information System which uses GPS to determine the current location. Car Navigation Information System is the one which can determine and display the current location and direction through the display monitor, search the destination point, calculate and check out the shortest path to the destination. The system we developed can determine the current location using GPS data, search the destination point in various ways, calculate the shortest path, serve the driver all the above mentioned data, and display the raster and vector data. To testify the system, we made the vectorized data about Taejeon area. Then we testified the system performance by installing the system to the notebook computer.

  • This article is concerned with the technology to provide car driver the car's status which are composed of car trouble code in car engine and many sensors. In addition, it installs vehicle diagnostic programs on wireless communication's portable device, for example, Smart phone, PDA, PMP, UMPC. As a result, this is to provide car manager with many information of car sensors when we go to car maintenance. it can monitor relevant information on vehicle by portable device in real time, alert drivers with specific messages and also enable them to address abnormalities immediately. Moreover, the technology could help the drivers who perhaps don't know very well about their vehicles to drive safely and economically as well; the reason is because the whole system is composed of just Vehicle-information collecting device and personal wireless communication's portables and transfers the relating data to server computers through wireless network in order to handle information on vehicles. This technology make us monitor vehicle's running, failure and disorder by using wireless communication's portable device. Finally, this study system is composed of a lot of application to display us the car's status which get car's inner sensor information while driving a car.
