  • 가정용 공기청정기의 집진, 탈취, 각종 부가기능 등의 개발 현황 및 성능시험 결과와 사회환경 변화에 따른 시장 동향을 소개한다. 건강과 환경에 대한 관심이 점점 높아져 가는 사회적 분위기 속에서 특히 인간에게 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 실내 공기질에 대한 문제는 사회적으로 중대한 이슈가 되고 있다. 사회구조가 변화하면서 실내에서 생활하는 시간이 점점 길어지고 이에 따라 실내 환경이 인간에게 미치는 영향 또한 커지고 있다. 특히 실내공간에서 부유 하는 분진, 세균류와 유기화합물(volatile organic compounds : VOCs), 포름알데히드(HCHO) 등이 인체에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 결과가 대중에게 알려지면서 실내 공기질 개선에 대한 사회적 요구가 급증하고 있는 것이 사실이다. 따라서 최근 공기청정기의 수요가 호조를 보이고 있으며, 백색가전제품 중에서도 두자리수 성장을 계속하고 있는 상품 중 하나이다. 공기청정기는 건강을 지향하는 추세가 강한 요즘, 필수품으로서 정착했으며 well-being붐을 타고 더욱 확대되고 있다.(중략)

  • 물질의 양을 계측하는 소위 분석기기는 광, 전기, 자기 및 크로마트 등 많은 물리적 화학적 특성을 이용한 계측기가 있으며 또한 측정목적에 적합한 원리의 계측기가 사용되고 있다. 환경대기나 배가스의 측정기기도 특별한 것이 아니고 보통의 분석기기를 이용하고 있다. 또한 발생원(카드뮴, 연 및 그의 화합물)과 환경에 있어서 배진이나 분진(이하 더스트라고 총칭함)에 의한 공해방지를 위하여 법에 의한 규제와 기준에 대한 적부의 판단을 비롯해서 공해방지장치(집진장치등)의 성능측정 또는 오염예측 등에 각종 측정기기가 사용되고 있다. 이것들은 주로 더스트의 농도, 양, 조성및 입경분포 등을 측정하는 것이나 이외에 필요에 따라서 여러가지 성상(비중, 전기저항율 등)을 측정할 수 있다. 그러나 본고에서는 가장 측정빈도가 높은 농도의 측정을 중심으로해서 가장 적절한 측정기기의 선정요점을 기술하고자 한다.

  • In recent European telecommunication base transceiver stations(BTS) a membrane laminated air filter is reported to replace a heat exchanger in order to cool internal digital units of BTS. The concept of using the air filter is for the direct ambient cooling(DAC) of BTSs without heat loss generally found ill the heat exchanger type BTS. In the present study, a performance evaluation experiment was conducted to investigate the pressure drop characteristics with dust loading and the particle collection efficiency of the air filter for the DAC of BTS.

  • The product developed in this study is a ceramic catalyst filter for 1 ton heavy-oil boiler that can simultaneously process dust and nitrogen oxides. This has been developed for simultaneous processing of nitrogen oxides and dust at high efficiency of hot exhaust gas (approximately $300^{\circ}C$) generated after burning 1 ton heavy oil boiler. Ceramic catalytic filters for 1 tonne heavy-duty glass display are technologies that remove 90% of dust and 85% or more of nitrogen oxides. This is an improved new technology to integrate exhaust ventilation and desiccation devices into one, thereby reducing the production process and improving the economy. To this end, the performance test of the catalytic filter for heavy oil boilers was carried out, and the durability of the PLC circuit was constructed.

A study on the optimization design of air current injection system to improve bag-filter dedusting performance (여과집진기의 탈진 능력 향상을 위한 기류 분사 시스템 최적화 설계에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 탈진 기류 분사 시스템의 최적화 설계에 관한 기초 연구의 일환으로 전산유체역학(CFD)을 이용하여 일반 블로우 튜브와 단순 벤츄리 조합의 충격 기류(Pulse air jet) 방식의 탈진 장치에 대한 탈진 성능과 벤츄리 입구에 기류 유도용 구조물을 설치한 경우의 탈진 성능을 비교하였다. 각 Case별로 벤츄리 내부로 유입되는 탈진 공기량을 예측한 결과, case 2의 벤츄리 형상 개조시 case 1 보다 벤츄리로 유입되는 탈진 공기량이 약 20% 증폭되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 필터백 표면에서의 탈진 기류 전달 분포를 예측한 결과, 모든 case가 필터백의 국한된 영역으로 탈진 기류가 집중됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한, case 2의 경우가 case 1보다 오히려 탈진 기류의 전달 수준이 불량함을 알 수 있다. 이는 case 2의 경우 벤츄리 입구에 기류 유도용 구조물을 설치한 것이 탈진 공기량을 증폭시키는데에는 도움이 되나, 오히려 벤츄리 내부로 유입된 탈진 기류의 직진성을 보완하여 필터백 내부에서 탈진 기류의 확장을 방해하기 때문인 것으로 판단된다.

Simultaneous Removal Characteristics of Particulate and Elemental Mercury in Convergence Particulate Collector (융합형여과집진장치에서의 먼지입자와 원소수은의 제거 성능 특성)

  • The high temperature pleated filter bags which were used during this study were made of pleated nonwoven fabric of heat and acid resistant polysulfonate fibers which can withstand the heat up to $300^{\circ}C$ and have a filtration area which is 3 to 5 times larger than the conventional round filter bags. Cartridge module packed with 3 kind of the sulfur impregnated activated-carbon based sorbents were inserted in the inner of the pleated filter bag. This type of pleated filter bag was designed to remove not only the particulate matter but also the gaseous elemental mercury. The electrostatic precipitator part can enhance the particulate removal efficiency and reduce the pressure drop of the pleated filter bag by agglomerated particles to form a more porous dust layer on the surface of the pleated bag which is increased the filter bag cleaning efficiency. In addition, the most of particles are separated from the flue gas stream through the cyclone and the electrostatic precipitator part which were installed at the lower part and main body part of the convergence particulate collector, respectively. Thus reduce particulate loading of the high temperature pleated filter bags were applied in this study to analyze the removal characteristics of particulate matter and gaseous elemental mercury.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the structure of general filter using ultrafine filter (Profilter), dust collector filter, HEPA (HAPA-High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter, deodorized filters, etc. of air purifiers and to study new types of purified filters that can improve ultrafine dust, harmful gases, and sterilization cleanup performance. The study was also conducted by adding photocatalyst filters to the existing step-by-step filtration filter types, which were proposed in the design three coupling structure filters of the left and right UV-LED installation frames and the photocatalyst coating honeycomb frame. Future research is needed on the effect of photocatalyst filters. This study was to investigate the application and structure of photocatalyst filters to air purifiers.

Performance Characteristics of Louver Dust Collectors (루버 집진기의 성능특성)

  • A large amount of wear dust generated during train operation is a major dust source in urban railway tunnels. To check possibility of a louver dust collector for the removal of dust in the railway tunnel, five louver dust collector models were designed and their performance was tested in a wind tunnel. JIS Z 8901 Class 8 dust was used as a test dust. Pressure drop and particle collection efficiency were evaluated with the face velocity ranging from 1 m/s to 4 m/s. At this low velocity range, particle collection efficiency of the louver dust collector was found to be insensitive to air velocity and design parameters. Pressure drop was under 40 Pa, and $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ collection efficiencies were approximately 50% and 30%, respectively.

  • A cyclone is a dust-separating mechanism that works on the principle of centrifugal force. The performance of a cyclone is evaluated using pressure loss and collection efficiency. A multi-cyclone arrangement is used to improve the collection efficiency within a limited area. In this study, experiments and numerical analyses were conducted on a dual arrangement of mini-hydrocyclone separators, which was fabricated using 3D printing. The experiment was performed at an inlet flow rate of 0.7 m/s, and alumina powder with a particle size of 0.5, 15, and 50 ㎛. ANSYS FLUENT, was used for the numerical analysis. The reliability of the numerical analysis was verified through a comparison with the experimental results. The errors in the experiment and numerical analysis were confirmed to be 2% at the outlet flow rate.

Numerical Analysis on Wire-Plate Electrostatic Precipitator Performance for Bioaerosol Capture: Effect of Ionic Wind (와이어-평판 형태의 전기집진기식 바이오-에어로졸 포집기 성능 수치해석: 이온풍의 영향)

  • In our previous study, a wire-plate type electrostatic precipitator (ESP) was developed to collect bioaerosols of 100 nm size. In the study, various flow rates (40 ~ 100 L/min) and applied voltages (3 ~ 10 kV) were tested for experiment. In this study, numerical analysis was performed for the ESP of the previous study with the same flow rates and applied voltages, but with varying the size of bioaerosols to 0.04 ~ 2.5 ㎛. Overall, the numerical analysis results well predicted the experimental data. Bioaerosols of 0.1 ~ 0.5 ㎛ showed the minimum collection efficiency for all conditions because of low charge number. The effect of the ionic wind generated by the corona discharge was calculated. However, the ionic wind did not affect much the collection efficiency. The aerosol collection in the ESP of this study was due to the electrostatic force generated by particle charge in the electric field. This numerical study on the ESP can be used for the design and optimization of higher flow rate (> 100 L/min) ESP.
