Qualitative research has become a growing area of interest among the Korean educational researchers for the last two decades. As a consequence, the number of studies based on qualitative methods has rapidly increased while the quality of qualitative research has not gained much credit among scholars in Korea. This study explores to current practice of qualitative approaches in mathematics education-related studies. With this in mind, this study also seeks ways to improve the validity and trustworthiness of qualitative approaches, and to present implications for the practical practice of qualitative approaches in mathematics education. To this end, a general trend was investigated by conducting a basic analysis of 13 papers that used qualitative approaches and published in Communications of Mathematical Education from 2019 to 2020. Of the 13 papers. Through the basic analysis, 6 out of 13 papers were selected as the object of qualitative text analysis. The result of this qualitative text analysis discusses issues related to the validity and trustworthiness of qualitative research in a detailed manner. In conclusion, based on the results of this qualitative text analysis, this study suggests several key points to keep in mind when applying qualitative approaches in the field of mathematics education in the future.

이 글은 초등학교 학생들을 대상으로 상호변화적(covariational) 개념으로 변화율에 대한 교수실험을 담고 있다. 기하적 문맥에서 함수의 그래프를 자연스럽게 도입하고, 함수의 변화율에 대한 상호변화적 질적 접근의 예를 제시한다. 또한 언어적 명령을 통하여 스스로 함수의 그래프를 만들어보도록 하고 함수의 그래프를 분석하는 경험을 가지게 하여 이후 함수와 그 역함수와의 개념을 마이크로월드에서 경험하도록 하는 환경과 그 역할에 대하여 논의한다. 이 과정을 통한 마이크로월드, 학생, 연구자의 역할과 상호작용을 알아보고 이 후의 대수식의 도입에 대한 문제를 논의한다.

교육학의 질적 연구는 문헌 연구, 면담 연구, 비참여 관찰 연구, 참여 관찰 연구로 분류한다. 문헌연구에는 내용분석, 철학적 연구, 역사학적 연구, 문학적 비평이 들어가고, 면담연구에는 구술사, 전기, 탐문(探問) 저널리즘 등이 포함되고, 비참여 관찰연구에는 전문적 감정(鑑定), 인간의 종적 특성 연구, 관찰자 연구, 비개입적 행동 연구 등이 포함된다. 마지막으로 참여 관찰연구는 일반적 현장연구, 문화 기술적 연구가 포함된다. 질적 연구는 사람, 사물, 현상의 범주화나 수량화가 가해지기 이전의 상태, 즉 '있는 그대로'의 상태에 최대한 접근하는 방법으로써, 고정관념을 깨고 기존의 이론을 최대한 유보한 채 연구에 임하는 것으로 최근에 발달한 인문사회과학적 연구방법이다. 질적 인식이 자연언어에 주로 의존하는 데 비해 양적 인식은 인공언어에 많이 의존한다. 수식과 도형, 부호등은 대표적인 인공언어이다. 모든 사물이 질과 양의 속성을 다 가지고 있듯이 모든 연구는 질적 과정과 양적 과정을 다 포함하고 있다. 질적이냐, 양적이냐 하는 구분은 연구방법론의 문제인데 연구방법론은 연구논리와 연구기법을 포함한다. 본 연구는 인공언어인 수와 식에만 익숙한 수학교육에서, 질적 연구가 왜 필요한지, 어떤 특성이 있는지 논의함으로써 수학교육의 새로운 방법론을 제시하고자 한다.

This study examined two current learning models for covariational reasoning(Carlson et al.(2002), Thompson, & Carlson(2017)), applied the models to teaching two $9^{th}$ grade students, and analyzed the results according to the types of graphs(a quantitative graph or qualitative graph). Results showed that the model of Thompson and Carlson(2017) was more useful than that of Carlson et al.(2002) in figuring out the students' levels in their quantitative graphing activities. Applying Carlson et al.(2002)'s model made it possible to classify levels of the students in their qualitative graphs. The results of this study suggest that not only quantitative understanding but also qualitative understanding is important in investigating students' covariational reasoning levels. The model of Thompson and Carlson(2017) reveals more various aspects in exploring students' levels of quantitative understanding, and the model of Carlson et al.(2002) revealing more of qualitative understanding.

Human resource management (HRM) deals with essentially complex human phenomena and multiple interactive relationships. Thus, the use of quantitative data to research and understand HRM is necessarily limited. Although important qualitative issues in HRM research are often central to supporting or creating a firm's competitive advantage, they are frequently neglected. Research into HRM is increasingly difficult and complicated, therefore, it is very difficult to research through strict quantitative methods. This paper's focus is to develop an effective idea for applying qualitative research approaches to HRM studies. A justification of a qualitative approach is considered as being a superior means for researching HRM issues. The underlying foundation of this paper is that new problems are confronted HRM research, therefore, qualitative research methods will be necessary. It is suggested that quantitative analysis in understanding and explaining firm's HRM is not sufficient and a qualitative may provide the indepth insight into HR researches.

Using a qualitative multimethod approach, this study was to discover integrated factors to construct a substantive theory about occupational socialization of librarians. Through theoretical sampling, 42 participants were in-deathly interviewed at three studies, i. e phenomenological, ethnographic, and grounded theory approach. These data were analyzed and finally integrated using grounded theory approach. Emerged integrated factors were: Sharing values of the profession in education, Striving to overcome the peripheral perception, Lack of understanding about the profession, Inadequate conditions, Shared work values, Social changes, Perception about users, Organizational culture of library, Human relations in organization, Continuing education and exchange, Seeking the professional, Strategies for work, Strategies for human relations, Strategies for surviving slump and crisis, Strategies for enhancing oneself, Coping strategies for lack of understanding, Self congruence with the profession, Non-self congruence with the profession.

매체의 소유와 이용이 특정 계층의 전유물이던 예전과는 달리, 요즈음의 어린이들은 태어남과 동시에 자연스럽게 여러 종류의 매체들에 접하게 된다. 그 중 컴퓨터가 보급되면서 정보시대가 열리게 되었고, 인터넷이 급속도로 확산되면서 인터넷은 생활 속에서 커다란 자리를 차지하게 되었다. 인터넷은 전 세계를 동일한 공간과 시간으로 연결하면서 이전의 매체가 제공하지 못했던 즉각적 정보의 확산 인간관계의 확장과 의사소통 속도가 증가, 새로운 범세계적 커뮤니티의 형성을 가능하게 하는 등 긍정적인 영향뿐만 아니라 부정적인 영향에 대한 우려의 목소리가 높아지고 있는 가운데 'PC중독' 그리고 최근 들어 'PC방 중독' 현상에 대한 관심이 또한 고조되고 있다. 이에 중 고등 학생들을 대상으로 한 컴퓨터 중독 관련 연구는 상당수 이루어졌으나 초등학생을 대상으로 한 질적 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구는 초등학생들 대상으로 PC중독에 대한 질적 사례연구로 아동들의 PC중독의 문제와 상담방법을 질적 사례 연구방법으로 접근 하였다.

In this paper, a learning method of Pansori using voice bulletin board system is introduced. Also, the influence of the proposed approach on learners is analyzed by qualitative methods such as participatory observation, interview and video recording. The results of the qualitative analysis shows that the proposed approach can be effectively applied to Pansori learning. Futhermore, it can be seen that learners have a great interest in Korean traditional folk music.

Using a qualitative multimethod approach, this study was to construct a substantive theory about occupational socialization of librarians. These data were analyzed and finally integrated using grounded theory approach. 'Acquiring Social Recognition as Information Professionals' was emerged the core category for describing and guiding the occupational socialization process. Six patterns were discovered: 'the Beliefs', 'the Seeking-Success', 'the Work-Obiligations', 'The Stucked', 'the Self-Pride', 'The Frustrated' Also, it discussed characteristics and socialization strategies of the pattern.
