학회는 학회지를 발행하기 위해 편수에 관한 회무이사와 편수위원회를 설정하고, 학회예산의 큰 비중을 할당하고 있다. 이는 학회지가 학회의 성격을 가장 단적으로 표현하고, 또 시간적 지리적 제한을 받는 회원과 학회와의 접촉을 연결하는 역할을 하기 때문이다. 학회지가 발표, 토론, 대화, 지식의 교환장소인 만큼 회원으로 이루어진 잡지라고 보건데 회원에게는 다른 어떠한 종류의 잡지보다 학회지는 소중하고 유익한 것이다. 따라서 학회지의 질적, 양적 충실성은 회원의 적극적 참여없이는 불가능하다. 1974년부터 학회가 학회지의 지면을 더 늘려주었고, 내용의 혁신을 요구하고 있다. 이 기회에 학회지의 편수에 대해 느낀점, 생각할 점, 해야할 점들을 간추려써보고자 한다. 본학회가 더욱 발전하기 위해서는 학회지면에서는 어떠한 시책이 필요한가를 회원 여러분들과 생각하는데의 참고로 제공한다.

공학교육인증제도는 질적으로 우수하고 국제적인 감각을 갖춘 엔지니어 양성을 위하여 전 세계적으로 실시하고 있고, 국내에서도 1999년 한국공학교육인증원이 설립되어 전국적으로 확산되고 있는 추세이다. 하지만 인증 관련 업무가 까다롭고 방대하기 때문에 수작업으로는 처리 할 수 없을 정도이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 공학인증 업무를 심층적으로 분석함으로써, 복잡하고 방대한 시스템을 효율적으로 구축할 수 있는 구성 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 제안한 방법에 따라 대학에서 실제로 사용 가능한 시스템을 구축한 사례를 소개하였다.

Geography textbooks often have treated the world as a collection of independent nations. Also, many scholars have warned of ethnocentric bias in geography textbooks. Global education that emphasizes world interdependence and pursues global perspectives offers some possibilities to go beyond the status quo of current World Geography textbooks. The primary objective of this study is to analyze current US World Geography textbooks in terms of global education. A secondary objective is to explore a framework for rereading World Geography textbooks critically. This interpretive qualitative case study indicates that US World Geography textbooks maintain an imperialist and American-centered perspective. Especially, the case of Korea shows that other places and people are underrepresented through dichotomy, negative attitude and exclusion, misconception and stereotyping, and simplification in textbooks. Therefore, we need to detect conscious and unconscious fallacy and bias, to understand the world view and experiences of underrepresented people, and to deal with controversial global issues from diverse perspectives through global perspectives and post-colonial perspectives of global education.

올해로 20회째를 맞이하며 아시아 최고의 사진영상분야 전시회로 성장한 '2011 서울국제사진영상기자재전(이하P&I 2011)'이 지난 4월 21일부터 24일까지 나흘간 서울 코엑스 본관 1층 A홀에서 성황리에 치러졌다. 지난 3월 일본 대지진의 영향으로 예년에 비해 부수 규모와 참여업체들이 다소 줄어들긴 했지만 내용과 질적인 면에서 손색이 없을만큼 좋은 성적을 거두었다. 이번 전시회에는 국내 토종카메라 업체인 삼성을 비롯하여 캐논, 니콘, 올림푸스, 파나소닉 등 카메라 제조사와 프린터 및 사진 액세서리 업체 등 세계 20개국 117개사가 참가했으며 전시기간동안 전년도보다 105.4%나 늘어난 총 7만600여명의 참관객이 다녀간 것으로 나타나 카메라를 비롯한 사진영상분야에 대한 소비자들의 뜨거운 관심을 재확인할 수 있었다.

기존에 DTP란 전산 사식의 이용결과 정도였다. 그러나 이제 그 용어에 대한 약간의 수정이 필요하다고 본다. 즉, 전사사식의 활용 정도를 넘어서 사진, 도표, 일러스트 등 지면에 나타낼 수 있는 모든 시각요소들까지 본문과 함께 총체적으로 편집 처리할 때 비로소 D.T.P라 할 수 있다는 것이다. 그러나 보다 중요한 것은 출판의 전체 공정이 단일 시스템으로 처리됨으로써 편집자의 의도가 제작 전과정과 결과에 정확히 관찰된다는 것이다. 그 결과 시간과 경비가 절약되는 것은 물론 편집자의 창의적인 사고가 출판산업의 요소요소에 작용함으로써 출판산업에 비약적인 발전을 가져올 것이라 본다. 이러한 D.T.P의 질적 양적 발전은 이제 기업체 내부의 문서 정리 수준을 넘어 세계 출판 경향의 주된 흐름으로 자리 잡고 있으며 한국의 출판 환경에도 실질적인 영향을 미치기 시작했다. 결국 앞으로의 출판이 컴퓨터와의 관계를 배재할 수 없으며 컴퓨터 산업의 활용 성공이 출판산업의 전망을 밝힐 것으로 본다.

최근들어 우리나라의 급속한 고도성장과 더불어 수송물동량과 교통인구의 증가로 인해 자동차로 부터 배출되는 배기가스의 공해가 커다란 사회적인 문제로 부각됨에 따라 날로 심각해져 가는 대 기오염을 방지하기 위하여 한국의 차량비율중 50%이상을 차지하고 있는 디젤엔진으로부터의 배 기사스 저감이 절실히 요구되고 있는 실정에 있다. 한편 우리나라 자동차산업 및 엔진산업은 최근 몇 년동안 양적인 면에서 괄목할만한 성장을 해왔으나, 아직까지 선진제조기술의 모방단 계를 벗어나지 못했기 때문에 질적인 면에서는 선진국과 경쟁할만한 자체기술 개발능력이 부족한 상태이다. 따라서 지난 10여년동안 세계 유명엔진 제조업체와 기술제휴를 통한 기술축적, 끊임 없는 연구개발, 생산기술 향상 등을 통하여 국내 디젤엔진 업계를 선도하고 있는 대우중고업은 지난 30년동안 350여개 이상의 엔진을 설계, 개발한 경험을 갖고 있는 세계적인 내연기관 연구 소인 Austria의 AVL사와 공동으로 기존시장에서 호평을 받고 있는 M.A.N.엔진을 기본 Model로 하여 저공해고효율 및 고BMEP특성을 갖춘 D1146 Series, D2366 Series를 개발함으로써 국내 자동차 공업의 기술수준 향상과 국제경쟁력 확보를 통하여 수출산업으로 육성하고자 하였다.

This paper examines the evaluation and categorization of national heritage 'Myeongseung(scenic places)' from the viewpoint of world heritage concept and its criteria. This study focuses on Myeongseung because the author thinks it implies the unique human-nature relationships that have been evolved in Korean Peninsula, and then draws some pending problems with the evaluation of those heritage. Formerly, the paper discusses theoretically the outcome and point at issue on concept, criteria, evaluation of world heritage, and then proposes three issues on the evaluation and categorization of national heritage 'Myeongseung': first, the establishment of basic concept for evaluation of heritage; second, the building of unified criteria list to cover both natural and cultural heritage; and third, the reorganization of categories for the advanced registration and management. Especially, the author emphasizes that it is necessary rather to extend actively the world heritage concept than to regard it as a fixed framework.

This study is to explore how the bondage of street homeless is made and what it implies. In order to do so, this study does participation-observation for the life of the homeless on the street and drop-in-center according to the ethno-graphic research tradition. Starting from the August of 2005, during the period of six months, we did a field study on the actual conditions of facilities for the homeless in the major parts in Seoul and collected the interview data through the interview-in-depth with 8 homeless people. Following the data-analysis procedures of Spradley(1979), we identified the main domains related to the factors for the bonding of street homeless. These domains show us how the homeless people who were left in the whole new world of homelessness just manage to tide over the crisis of identity and survival. The bondage of street homeless in the situation of street homelessness has been shown to have these following meanings: (1) the cultural significance as their second home, (2) the meaning of an alternative group to be admitted, (3) the maintenance of self-identity by way of distinction in the group. According to these, the self-identity of homeless is dual and, therefore, the meaning and interpretation of their relationship is also dual. This dualistic attitude comes from the process in which the homeless acquire the alliance-resource for the very survival and self-existence. The results of this study confirm that the homeless suffer from the lack of true relationship as well as resources. This study suggests that the supporting policies and services for the street homeless should be achieved qualitatively and integrated under a long range plan.
