Inductively Coupled $Ar/Cl_2$ Plasma Analysis with Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (QMS) (사중극자 질량분석기(QMS)를 이용한 $Ar/Cl_2$ 유도결합 플라즈마 분석)

  • $Cl_2$ 플라즈마에 있어서 Ar 가스의 첨가에 의한 효과를 보기 위해 Ar 첨가 비율 rf 전력, 반응로 압력을 변화시켜가며 그 에너지와 질량을 분석하였다. Ar 첨가 비율에 따른 각 입자들의 질량 분석을 통해서, Ar의 비율이 80% 일 때 물리적, 화학적 반응이 최대가 되는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 Ar 첨가 비율에 따른 각 이온들의 에너지 분석을 통해, Ar 가스의 첨가에 의해 $Cl^+$$Cl_2^+$ 이온들의 이온 선속은 증가하나 그 에너지가 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 반응로 압력과 rf 전력의 제어를 통해 이온 전류밀도, 이온 에너지와 전자온도를 제어 할 수 있음을 확인하였고, Ar 첨가 비율을 변화시키면서 전자 밀도 분포 함수의 변화를 관찰하여 이를 통해 Ar 비율에 따른 이온화 비율과 전자 온도, 밀도 등의 관계를 확인하였다.

Correlation Analysis between Unit Weight and Thermal Conductivity in Porous Concrete Containing Natural Fine and Bottom Ash Aggregates (바텀애시와 천연 잔골재를 혼입한 다공성 콘크리트의 단위질량과 열전도도의 상관분석)

  • In this paper, the thermal properties of porous concrete containing natural fine aggregates in bottom ash aggregates were analyzed. In this study, natural fine aggregates were used for bottom ash aggregates to understand the material properties of each aggregate and then used as an aggregate for porous concrete. A porous concrete specimen was manufactured by fixing the water-binder ratio at 0.25 and designating the compaction at 0.5, 1.5, and 2.5 MPa. Unit weight, total void ratio and thermal conductivity test were measured and discussed. As the compaction increased and the mixing ratio of natural fine aggregates increased, the unit weight and thermal conductivity increased, and the total void ratio decreased. In addition, the correlations between unit weight, total void ratio and thermal conductivity of porous concrete with previous experimental data were presented and the correlation coefficient (R2) was also analyzed.

  • In this paper, an experimental study is performed in order to determine the effects of interaction between vehicle and structure. For this purpose a wheel tracking machine and an adequate precast concrete deck single span bridge are designed. Results presented in the paper show that interaction between vehicle and structure produce additional effects on dynamic behavior of structure including reversal and contrary behavior.

Application of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry-based identification of foodborne pathogen tests to the Korea Food Standard Codex (MALDI-TOF 질량분석기를 이용한 식품중독균 확인시험 적용)

  • Rapid and reliable identification of microorganisms is important to maintain food quality and to control safety. MALDI-TOF MS-based identification methods are relatively fast and simple compared to other conventional methods including gram staining and biochemical characterization. A colony on subcultured media can be directly prepared on the analysis plate without further complex treatments. In this study, we confirmed the applicability of MALDI-TOF MS-based identification of foodborne pathogens such as Salmonella Enteritidis/Typhimurium, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Clostridium perfringens, Listeria monocytogenes, Yersinia enterocolitica, Bacillus cereus, Campylobacter jejuni, Campylobacter coli, and Cronobacter sakazakii on the Korea Food Standard Codex. MALDI-TOF MS data of the pathogenic reference strains were incorporated into a commercial MicroID (ASTA Inc.) database. Other pathogenic reference strains and seven isolates from various food samples were correctly identified to the species level by using the MicroID database. In conclusion, MALDI-TOF MS is comparable with commercial biochemical identification.

New K-Ar dating system in Korea Basic Science Institute: Summary and Performance (한국기초과학지원연구원에 도입된 K-Ar 연대 측정시스템: 개요 및 성능)

  • K-Ar dating system of Korea Basic Science Institute (KBSI) was installed in 1997 and has been used since then. The system consists of high temperature graphite furnace, gas purification system, and mass spectrometer with data acquisition system. K-Ar age is determined by the measurement of the concentrations of Ar and K through isotope dilution method using $^{38}Ar$ as spike and flame spectroscopy, respectively. The accuracy and reliability for the K-Ar age are checked using the several K-Ar standard materials. Although the exact age determination for young samples of less than 1 Ma is hampered by small fluctuations of sensitivity and mass discrimination, the present system yields the reliable K-Ar age compared to the standard materials of Tertiary and Mesozoic age. The measurements for the SORI93 biotite with the recommended K-Ar age of $92.6\pm$0.6 Ma and Bern4M muscovite of $18.5\pm$0.6 Ma yield the reliable age of $92.1\pm$1.1 Ma and $17.8\pm$0.2 Ma, respectively.

  • Obecity in pregnancy causes many problems and increases risk of pregnancy complications at the time of childbirth. But there is a lack of comprehensive analysis of factors that are negatively affected during pregnancy. Therefore, this study is intended to analyze seven factors of high-risk maternal diseases by the degree of obesity using body mass index(BMI). We conducted a cross tabulation analysis and regression analysis to analisized relationship between variables : Gestational Hypertension(GH), Gestational Diabetes Mellitus(GDM), Thyroid Stimulation Hormone(TSH), Age, Blood Urea Nitrogen Test(BUN), Total-Cholesterol(T-C), and newborn's weight. As a result, the more the obesity level of mothers increases, the more the proportion of mothers with GH, GDM, TSH increases. And there was a positive relationship between the BMI of mothers and their age, T-C, and Newborn weight, and a negative relationship to the BUN.

  • Precise estimation f a structure's dynamic characteristics is indispensable for ensuring stable dynamic response during life time especially for the structures which can experience resonance such as railway bridges. Especially, concrete track can change the modal properties of the railway bridge, through the contribution of stiffness as well as mass effects, generally only the mass effect is considered in dynamic analysis of the railway bridge. In this paper, static and dynamic behaviors of railway bridge with concrete track were investigated through experimental study. Also, numerical analysis was performed about considering only mass of concrete track and together with stiffness and mass of concrete track. These were compared with experiment value. Numerical analysis value considering together with stiffness and mass of concrete track was similar experiment value. Therefore, when dynamic analysis of railway bridge with concrete track is performed, the contribution of stiffness as well as mass effects for concrete track is considered.

Improvement of Spectrum Detection Algorithm for Mass Spectrometer (질량분석기를 위한 스펙트럼 검출 알고리즘의 개선)

  • An improved method of spectrum detection algorithm for mass spectrum analysis system is proposed. In the conventional spectrum detection algorithm that utilizes the results of the linear approximation and quadratic curve fitting on the ion signal block of each mass index, it is possible to reduce the detection error in the mass spectrum detection by further improving the condition of eliminating the invalid ion signals. Also, the proposed method can reduce the estimation error of the peak value of the mass spectrum by using the result of quadratic curve fitting for the effective ion signal block in which the peak position error is corrected. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, computer simulations were carried out step by step using the measured ion signal. Also, by comparing the rate of false detection for several inputs, the proposed method showed better detection performance than the conventional method.
