This study was conducted 1) to investigate the effects of treatment and other factors on the quality of life of thyroid cancer surgical patients and 2) to provide fundamental data for development of an intervention and symptom management program to improve the quality of life of those patients. A total of 76 patients who were diagnosed with thyroid cancer and underwent thyroidectomy from July 2013 to December 2014 participated in this study. To investigate the factors affecting quality of life, a t-test and ANOVA analyses were conducted, after which multiple regression analysis was performed. The results were statistically significant between preoperative and one month after surgery of sex, cancer history, fatigue, and quality of life until 3 months after surgery of stage, cancer history, anxiety, and pain. Multiple regression analysis showed that the most influential factors affecting the quality of life were depression and fatigue at one month prior to and after surgery and anxiety at three months after surgery, while no factors were found to be influential at six months after surgery. Overall, the results of this study suggested that it is imperative to manage depression and fatigue one month prior to and after surgery to reduce the physical and psychological pain experienced by thyroid cancer patients. Moreover, three months after the surgery, anxiety should be closely monitored and controlled to improve the quality of life of the patients. This approach is expected to reduce the burden on the health care system and social costs, which will positively affect public health.

The ability of the searcher to express their information problem to an information retrieval system is fundamental to the retrieval process. Query by visual example is the principal query paradigm for expressing queries in a content-based image retrieval environment yet there is little empirical evidence to support its efficacy in facilitating query formulation. The aim of this research was to investigate the usability of the query by colour method in supporting a range of information problems in order to contribute to the gap in knowledge regarding the relationship between searchers' information problems and the query methods required to support efficient and effective visual query formulation. The results strongly suggest that the query method does not support visual query formulation and that there is a significant mismatch between the searchers information problems and the expressive power of the retrieval paradigm.

Internet accelerates the speed of Information society causing changes the method and purpose of education. The word "life-long learning" is no longer a new tenn for many of the world citizens, and they ask for a system to fulfill their need to learn. Information communication technology enables and provides technical base for such needs. Web based cyber education, especially, is known to be an important and alternative instructional method to mediate learning at a distance. At the present, however, with the breakneck pace of growth and interests on Web-based distance education, there are no guidelines provided to assure the quality. In this study, we have identified guiding principles to design and develop quality assurance model for effective distance education. This is critical, especially in Korea, since 9 distance. education institutions have been accredited to offer degree programs starting 2001 spring semester. Using this model, distance education providers and consumers can develop or select effective on-line courses.

클라이언트-서버 환경에서 공간 데이터와 같은 대용량의 데이터를 처리하는 시스템이나 다수의 클라이언트의 요구가 발생하는 시스템에서는 데이터 처리 시 발생하는 서버 I/O 연산의 수행 비용과 질의 처리비용 및 결과 데이터의 전송 비용이 서버 사이드의 병목 현상과 질의 처리속도의 저하라는 문제점을 유발한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위한 방법으로 서버 처리비용의 분산을 위한 확장된 Peer-to-peer를 지원하는 방식을 제안하며, 이러한 확장 된 Peer-to-peer방식을 지원할 수 있는 공간데이터 관리기의 설계 및 구현상황을 제안한다. 공간데이터 관리기는 서버에 접속된 클라이언트의 정보와 클라이언트에 캐쉬된 데이터의 정보를 관리하는 공간데이터 관리기의 CIT(Client Information Table)와 이 CIT에 가용한 데이트를 캐쉬한 클라이언트가 여럿인 경웨 대상 클라이언트의 선정이 요구되며, 적은 비용으로 처리 가능한 클라인트의 선정의 위한 알고리즘과 클라이언트 사이의 확장된 Peer-to-peer 방식을 지원하기 위한 서버와 클라이언트간의 데이터 일관성 유지를 위한 데이터 유효성 관리를 제안한다.

In this paper, we design and implement a query processor of real-time main memory database systems, which reflect the characteristics of main memory database systems and satisfy timing constraints. The proposed query processor manages real-time data that has timing constraint by exploiting meta database. It supports CLI in order to make application programs. It also supports extended CLI and stored CLI. The former can be expressed the Information on real-time transaction. The latter is designed to support frequently processed transaction. The proposed query processor is implemented as query processor of real-time database management systems. We Present performance evaluation results that illustrate ratio of transaction, which satisfy deadline are increased by the query processing ability of system and the efficient management of real-time data.
