A Study on the Convergence of the Evolution Strategies based on Learning (학습에의한 진화전략의 수렴성에 관한연구)

  • In this paper, we study on the convergence of the evolution strategies by introducing the Lamarckian evolution and the Baldwin effect, and propose a random local searching and a reinforcement local searching methods. In the random local searching method some neighbors generated randomly from each individual are med without any other information, but in the reinforcement local searching method the previous results of the local search are reflected on the current local search. From the viewpoint of the purpose of the local search it is suitable that we try all the neighbors of the best individual and then search the neighbors of the best one of them repeatedly. Since the reinforcement local searching method based on the Lamarckian evolution and Baldwin effect does not search neighbors randomly, but searches the neighbors in the direction of the better fitness, it has advantages of fast convergence and an improvement on the global searching capability. In other words the performance of the evolution strategies is improved by introducing the learning, reinforcement local search, into the evolution. We study on the learning effect on evolution strategies by applying the proposed method to various function optimization problems.

A Comparison between Korean and American College Students' Evolution Concepts based on the History of Evolutionary Ideas (진화개념의 역사에 근거한 한국과 미국 대학생의 진화개념 수준 비교)

  • This study was conducted to identify whether there is a significant difference in the developmental stages of the evolution concept depending on the major and the country. For this study, college students (both biology major and non-biology major) in Korea and the United States answered evolution concept assessment developed by Ha (2007). The data were analyzed based on the method of developed by Ha (2016). As a result of this study, Cronbach alpha for internal consistency reliability and MNSQ indices for item response fitness of the ordered multiple choice method providing 0 to 4 point scores to creationism, teleology, intentionality, use/disuse, and natural selection respectively, satisfied the benchmark. The level of Korean college students' evolution concepts was located in use/disuse and the level of USA college students' evolution concepts was located in teleology. No interaction effect was found between the difference of conceptual progressions of evolution concept by major and country and evolution contexts (human, animal, and plant). There was a significant relationship between developmental stages of evolution concept and their religiosity. Based on the results of this study, we discuss developmental characteristics of evolutionary concepts.

Changes in product innovation strategy reflecting industry evolutionary phases and dynamic capabilities in the Korea Wireless Internet industry (산업진화단계와 동태적역량에 따른 제품혁신 전략의 변화: 한국 무선인터넷 산업을 중심으로)

  • Production innovation capabilities are critical to the survival and growth of firms. This paper investigates industrial dynamics and dynamic capabilities of firms by looking at how an industry evolution process influences firms' product innovation strategy and how dynamic capabilities affect firms' product innovation process. Korea Wireless Internet industry shows a full cycle of industry evolution process including introduction phase, growth phase, maturity phase, and decline phase using by dynamic technological and market changes. 7 listed companies in Korea Wireless Internet industry were selected. We have conducted multiple case studies based upon in depth interviews. Empirical results show that different phases of industry evolution influence firms' strategy of product innovation. Dynamic capabilities are also appears to be very important to the survival and growth of a firm.

Examining the Validity of History-of-Science-Based Evolution Concept Assessment and Exploring Conceptual Progressions by Contexts (과학사에 근거한 진화개념검사도구의 타당도 확인 및 맥락에 따른 진화개념 발달 탐색)

  • Previous studies have investigated the similarity between the development of evolutionary explanations and students' conceptual developments on evolution. However, the validity and reliability of the assessment method reflecting the similarity have not been quantitatively examined yet. In addition, no study has examined the conceptual progressions of evolution concept based on contexts although literature has addressed the contextual difference of evolutionary explanation in the history of science. This study examined the validity and reliability of history-of-science-based evolution concept assessment using ordered multiple choice (OMC) methods and Rasch analysis and explored conceptual progression by three contexts (e.g., human, animal, and plant). The evolution concept assessment developed by Ha (2007) was used to examine 1711 elementary, middle, and high school students, and pre- and in-service science teachers' (biology majors and non-majors) evolution concepts. Internal consistency reliability and item response fitness of the OMC method that provide 0- to 4-point scores to creationism, teleology, intentionality, use/disuse, and natural selection respectively met the benchmark based on the Cronbach alpha and MNSQ indices of Rasch analysis. The level of elementary and middle school students' evolution concepts were located between intentionality and use/disuse while the level of high school and non-biology science teachers' evolution concepts were located between use/disuse and natural selection. The conceptual progressions of evolution concepts were differentiated according to three contexts. This study provided the quantitative evidence for the similarity between the development of evolutionary explanations and students' conceptual developments on evolution and suggest new analysis methods (i.e., OMC) of evolution concept assessment.

A Study on the Recognition of Effectiveness and Safety of the Helicopter Aerial Fire Attack (헬기에 의한 산불공중진화 효과 및 안전성 인식 연구)

  • Forest fires were easy to be larger in Korea. So the utilization of aircrafts, especially helicopters, for forest fire attack would be increased gradually. In the forest fire attack process, the improvement of the helicopter aerial fire attack technique and safety were the chief element for efficient forest fire attack. In this study, we surveyed the recognition of pilots who worked in Forest Aviation Office which was responsible for aerial forest fire attack in Korea. Using these survey results, we suggested more efficient and safer method for aerial fire fighting based on actual experience of air attack at the scene of forest fire burning.

Design of a Fuzzy Logic Controller Using an Adaptive Evolutionary Algorithm for DC Series Motors (적응진화 알고리즘을 사용한 DC 모터 퍼지 제어기 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, adaptive evolutionary algorithm(AEA) is proposed, which uses both genetic algorithm(GA) with good global search capability and evolution strategy(ES) with good local search capability in an adaptive manner, when population evolves to the next generation. In the reproduction procedure, proportion of the population for GA and ES is adaptively determined according to their fitness. The AEA is used to design membership functions and scaling factors of the fuzzy logic controller(FLC). To evaluate the performance of the proposed FLC design method, we make an experiment on the FLC for the speed control of an actual DC series motor system with nonlinear characteristics. Experimental results show that the proposed controller has better performance than PD controller.

  • 본 논문에서는 사용자 개개인에 최적화된 아바타를 생성하기 위해 대화형 진화연산(Interactive Genetic Algorithm, IGA)을 적용하는 방법을 제안하고 있다. 대화형 진화연산은 사용자의 선택을 적합도 평가에 사용하는 방법이기 때문에, 사용자의 개인적인 취향을 아바타 생성 과정에 반영할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 대화형 진화연산이 가지고 있는 단점을 극복하기 위해 hidden population 기법과, simplified genotype 기법을 제안한다. 이러한 방법들은 단시간 내에 최적화된 결과물을 생성하도록 유도함으로써 IGA 시스템의 최대 문제점인 사용자의 피로도를 최소화한다 마지막으로, 제안하고 있는 알고리즘의 우수성을 증명하기 위해 사용자의 만족도나 신뢰도를 측정할 수 있는 독자적인 평가 방법을 소개하고 있다

  • 비동기 및 차세대 이동통신 시스템의 진화 과정 상에서 RF관련 규격들의 변화에 대해 알아보았고, 비동기 시스템의 RF부를 제작하는데 사용하게 될 RF 부품 기술 동향을 단말기와 기지국의 경우로 나 누어 분석하였다. 또한 차세대인 4세대 시스템 RF 부의 진화 전망에 대해 간단히 알아보았다. 시스템 이 진화할수록, 요구되는 데이터 처리 능력으로 인 해 채널 대역폭은 점점 넓어지고, 기존 시스템과의 상호 간섭 방지를 위해 일반적인 RF 관련 규격 중 방사 규격과 요구되는 선형성이 엄격해진다. 앞으로 의 RF 부품의 기술적 진화는 직접 변환 방식의 부 품 개발로 단말기의 소형화, 저가격화를 이를 것이 고, 동작 주파수 영역을 0.8~5 GHz대로 하기 위한 광대역화, 선형화가 요구될 것이다. 또한 4 세대 시스템에서는 기존의 주파수 이용 개념과 무선 전송 기술에 변화를 주게 될 SDR 기반의 다중모드/복합 다중 접속 기술을 적용하게 될 것으로 예상된다.

  • MicroRNA (miRNA)는 생체내에서 gene regulation에 관여하는 핵심 small RNA 중 하나이다. miRNA는 Primary miRNA, Precursor miRNA, mature miRNA의 과정으로 processing 된다. miRNA 최종 형태인 mature miRNA의 정확한 위치 예측은 miRNA 예측의 필수적인 부분이다. 본 논문에서는, 진화적 최적화 예측 모델 중 하나인 유전 알고리즘을 이용하여 mature miRNA의 정확한 위치 예측을 수행한다. 제시된 방법은 이미 알려진 mature miRNA 위치를 positive example로 하고 임의로 생성한 위치를 negative example로 하여 서로의 linear scoring function 적합성 함수의 값 차이가 최대한으로 되도록 예측 모델을 진화시킨다. 유전 알고리즘을 이용한 진화적 최적화 모델로부터 mature miRNA 위치 예측에서 약 1.7nt 오차를 보여 기존의 방법 보다 개선된 성능을 보인다.

Evolution of the Yangsan Fault Using the Structural Elements (구조요소를 이용한 양산단층의 진화 해석)

  • 단층이동자료를 이용하여 지구조 사건을 분별하고 단층의 운동시기 및 한반도 주변지구조체계와 비교하여 양산단층의 진화과정을 해석하였다. 양산단층은 팔레오세 때 단층형성이 시작되었고 그 후 NW-SE 신장 사건에 의해 우수주향이동을 했다. 우수주향이동은 장구한 시간동안 진행되어 마이오세 초에 확장축이 바뀜에 따라 약간의 변화가 있지만 우수운동은 지속되었다. 마이오세 말에 양산단층은 좌수이동으로 변하여 운동하게 되며, 마이오세 말 혹은 플라이스토세 초에 와서 양산단층은 N-S 방향의 최대 수평압축응력을 받게 된다. 이후 플라이스토세를 전후해서 E-W 방향의 최대수평압축응력에 의해 양산단층은 다시 우수이동을 한다. 이와 같이 양산단층은 한번의 운동으로 발달된 단층이 아니라 서로 다른 응력체계 하에서 다중변형을 받아 현재의 모습으로 진화되었다고 판단된다.
