This study attempts to understand the overall research trends in Vocational Studies using a text mining method, which is a means to analyze big data. The findings of the research show that Vocational Studies in Korea has been directly influenced by global economic crises, as evidenced by its exponential growth after the 1997 foreign exchange crisis that resulted in a bailout from the IMF. In addition, the topics of research have been shifting from such macro subjects as government policies and systems to such micro topics as individual career development. Moreover, the perspective of research is being moved from the socially vulnerable, including women and the disabled, to the economically marginalized, including retirees and the unemployed. As for the research targets, college students overwhelmingly outnumbered primary and secondary school students. However, few cases analyzed the clinical outcomes of career counseling or attempted to process job information and study the history of jobs. This research is limited in that it only analyzed journal abstracts. Nonetheless, it is meaningful because it used topic analysis, one of the text mining methods, to give a complete enumeration of all articles available for search, thereby crafting a framework of quantitative analysis methodology for Vocational Studies. It is also significant in that it is the first attempt to analyze themes in every stage of the development of Vocational Studies.

Vocational rehabilitation is defined as a process which helps people with disabilities to maintain life of non-disabled people and vocational assessment is a part of it. Traditionally, vocational assessment is performed through using of assessment tools or vocational counseling, but assessment tools are very expensive and we should move to the facilities for the disabled. It is very efficient to apply vocational assessment to people with disabilities using the smart phones which users are expected to surpass ten million in 2011, because it enables them to access anytime and anywhere. In this paper, we design and implement the mobile aptitude test system on android smart phone OS for people with disabilities. We develop the mobile aptitude test system using the Holland Test which is the assessment tool of career guidance and counseling.
HADAX is a serial communication converter of train control computer. It is connected with various signal equipments such as wayside signal equipments, station signal equipments, train control computers, and transmits control information and signal condition information for train control. And transmits information to several electronic interlocking devices through a splitter interface. Since HADAX interfaces with many signaling devices through serial communication, frequent communication connection faults necessitate improvement of performance such as dual system configuration, integration of external splitter, and multi-channelization of communication card. The improved HADAX device should have compatibility with the dimensions of existing enclosure and enclosure, and verify the performance of dual system and splitter integration. Therefore, we verified the performance of HADAX through the route control test, dual system test, and multi-channel communication test with splitter integrated connection by connecting with the existing signal equipment.
This paper was intended to investigate employment conditions and career planning of ex-participants of the customized training program(CTP) in Technical High Schools for the specific Small and Medium Business through questionnaires. Results of the research were: 1. The average ex-participant of CTP was employed in small size company with 50 employees, earned 1~1.2 Million Won monthly, worked about 50 hours per week. 2. They were earnestly considering and worried about their career. They had their career goals : Engineer in production and manufacturing, CEO of a company, Design engineer. 3. They were not able to invest enough time and energy in developing their capabilities and skills. 4. There were feelings of respondents, which the main barriers of their career achievement were : (1) their deficiency of personal competencies and endurance. (2) not time enough to learn (3) the fallacy of organizational support and atmosphere.
In this study, we explored the meaning of astronomical observation activities of five earth science teachers through in-depth interviews. Semi-structured interviews were conducted after providing a questionnaire based on Seidman's three-step process of interview. By analyzing the interview transcript, the educational implications inherent in astronomical observation activities were extracted. Teachers have constructed systematic basis of observation and astronomy in the observational astronomy and laboratory class during their course in the teacher education institute. After they became in-service teachers, practical know-hows of astronomical observation activities in schools were developed with the help of colleagues. By designing and executing astronomical observation activities for students, teachers notice positive changes in the cognitive domain, affective domain, and career perception of the students. Hence, teachers consider that astronomical observation activities have great educational effects. In addition, astronomical activities appear to be very rewarding and satisfying experiences to teachers, by providing opportunities for having pride as an earth science teacher. However, teachers tend to find difficulties in operating astronomical observation activities in fields, due to both internal and external obstacles. It is found that the removal of internal obstacles is more important for teachers to attempt or to continue astronomical observation activities. In this sense, it is necessary to support teachers by providing timely training courses with related content, as well as opportunities to share their experiences within a peer group such as teachers' research society.

This study analyzed the efficiency of a program designed for enforcing the job-seeking ability to overcome the career-barriers as well as the effect of the job-seeking efficacy toward the job-maintaining willingness of the disabled. For this research, the job-seeking ability enforcement program, which was started by the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled, was executed towards the 86 disabled by 7 sessions, which has been operated 6 hours a day for 4 days per week from December in 2012 to November in 2013. The survey for the study was taken twice with the same questionnaire toward the same object; one was a pre-survey that has been done before operating the program and the other was a pro-survey that was done after operating the program. The data was analyzed to obtain the 4 variables of job-seeking efficacy to overcome the career-barriers, which were self-efficacy, job-seeking skill, interpersonal relationship skill and job-information exploration and the 5th variable, job-maintaining willingness. The study findings were as follows. Firstly, the program efficiency was significant in interpersonal relationship skill and job-information exploration, while not significant in self-efficacy and job-seeking skill. Secondly, the self-efficacy and interpersonal relationship skill among the job-seeking efficacy to overcome career-barriers positively affects the job-maintaining willingness.

The present study investigates librarians perceptions of Free Learning Semester, and their commitment to program development for coordination with Free Learning Semester, and whether they currently offer programs for Free Learning Semester. The study results are as follows. First, the results on perceptions of Free Learning semester showed that 54.20% of the librarians who participated in the study were aware of Free Learning Semester, and 80.15% had participated in training related to Free Learning Semester. Regarding the anticipated outcomes of implementation of Free Learning Semester, "Participation in various experiential activities offered through Free Learning Semester" was the most common response, and regarding special considerations in Free Learning Semester, "Need for instituting the dedicated workforce and enhancing their sense of responsibility and expertise" was the most common response. Second, regarding the library program development and provision for coordination with Free Learning Semester, 58.02% thought that the implementation of Free Learning Semester was an opportunity to expand the role of libraries, while insufficient budget was listed as a barrier. In addition, 63.36% stated that they had no experience in providing a program in a library. Finally, the results on the perception on the Free Learning Semester program they want to provide in a library showed that "Human Library" and "Read! Think! Dream!" were the programs they want to provide most, with the mean score of 3.939.
This is a pilot study of multifaceted longitudinal research project to explore educational experiences of students with multicultural family backgrounds in Korea. Especially for this pilot study, I selected three foreign-born immigrant youths and tried to explore how these youths describe constraints of their learning experience in different culture. The data for this study were mainly collected through qualitative research methods. For a better understanding of the research participants' perceptions in this study, narrative inquiry and series of semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted for a period of four months which corresponds to one semester of school system in Korea. As a result, this study found that there is an urgent need to establish a systemic and developmentaly appropriate language education programs that ensure educating the language to the foreign-born immigrant youths because their academic achievement, interpersonal relationships, and future depend greatly on the fluency of Korean language. It was also found that it is necessary to take appropriate educational actions in supporting alternative schools where the foreign-born immigrant youths can fully and seriously considered as a whole person. Although this study has some limitations in examining every single aspect of the current state of education of students with multicultural backgrounds in Korea, it provides deep insight into some of their initial educational experiences and proposes several ways to improve these educational programs for them.
This study is a study to analyze Nativity's occupational aptitude by examining the functions and structures of the planets that make up the Nativity birth chart of Classic Astrology. If the occupation that appears in the birth chart is viewed as an individual's natural occupation, it is analyzed through the strength and weakness of the sign and planets, and the aspect (relationship with the planet). In Classic Astrology's nativity birth chart, there are three major planets when judging occupations: Venus (♀). Mars (♂). It was thought to be determined by Mercury (☿). However, in order to meet the diversity of jobs required in today's highly developed knowledge and information society, there are some shortcomings, so Saturn (♄), Jupiter (♃), Sun (☉), Moon (☽) was added to apply the aptitude for the job. Thus, the native's ASC vocational aptitude could be applied more diversely and broadly based on the relationship between planets and their aspects. As a result, Venus (♀. Venus) means enjoying artistic work that people think is beautiful and making it a pleasure in life, while Mars (♂) means work that requires physical strength and strength, such as working days. Mercury (☿) means using knowledge and brains, and the Sun (☉) plays a role in giving authority to jobs and talents. The Moon (☽) helps the native gain people's trust in his or her profession and talents, Jupiter (♃) helps the native to revive his or her profession and talents through faith, sincerity, fairness, and generosity, and Saturn (♄) can appear as an obstacle that blocks career and talent due to greed, sadness, poverty, etc. As a result of the study, it was found that the native's occupations vary depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the planets and their aspect relationships.
The present study aims to explore the causes of employment difficulty on the basis of job applicant's interest from P-E (person-environment) fit perspective. Our approach relied on a textual analytic method to reveal insights from their situational interests in a job search during the change of labor market. Thus, to investigate the type of major interests and psychological responses, user-generated texts in a social community were collected for analysis between January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2015 by crawling the online-community in regard to job seeking and sharing information and opinions. The results of topic analysis indicated user's primary interests were divided into four types: perception of vocation expectation, employment pre-preparation behaviors, perception of labor market, and job-seeking stress. Specially, job applicants put mainly concerns of monetary reward and a form of employment, rather than their work values or career exploration, thus youth job applicants expressed their psychological responses using contextualized language (e.g., slang, vulgarisms) for projecting their unstable state under uncertainty in response to environmental changes. Additionally, they have perceived activities in the restricted preparation (e.g., certification, English exam) as determinant factors for success in employment and suffered form job-seeking stress. On the basis of these findings, current unemployment matters are totally attributed to the absence of pursing the value of vocation and job in individuals, organizations, and society. Concretely, job seekers are preoccupied with occupational prestige in social aspect and have undecided vocational value. On the other hand, most companies have no perception of the importance of human resources and have overlooked the needs for proper work environment development in respect of stimulating individual motivation. The attempt in this study to reinterpret the effect of environment as for classifying job applicant's interests in reference to linguistic and psychological theories not only helps conduct a more comprehensive meaning for understanding social matters, but guides new directions for future research on job applicant's psychological factors (e.g., attitudes, motivation) using topic analysis.
