Rotordynamics of a Centrifuge Rotor-Bearing System for 100,000RPM Operation (10만 RPM용 원심분리기의 로터베어링계 설계)

  • 정격속도 100,000RPM용 원심분리기(centrifuge) 로터베어링계에 대해 회전체동역학 해석이 수행된다. 시스템은 원심분리기 로터, 유연축, 모터 로터와 축, 그리고 모터축 지지용 두 개의 구름베어링으로 구성된다. 설계목표는 정격속도가 위험속도(critical speed)에 대해 충분한 분리여유를 갖고, 위험속도에서 로터의 양호한 불균형응답특성을 이루어 내는 것이다. 후자의 요구조건은, 시스템이 다수의 위험속도를 통과하며 정격속도 주위에서 충분한 분리 여유를 갖지 않을 수도 있기 때문에 특히 중요하다. 시스템에 초유연축(extra-flexible shaft)을 도입함으로써, 비록 1차 위험속도에서 만족스럽지 못한 큰 불균형응답을 가질지라도 고차 위험속도에서 만족스런 작은 불균형응답을 보인다. 1차 위험속도에서 로터의 큰 변위를 억제하기 위해서 범퍼링(bumper ring) 또는 안내베어링(guide bearing)을 유연축의 적절한 위치에 설치할 필요가 있다. 비록 유연축계라 할지라도 정격속도와 가까운 4차 이상의 고차 위험속도를 정확히 규명하기 위해서는 모터의 동역학을 전체시스템에 결합하여야 함을 볼 수 있다. 해석은 유한요소법(finite element method)에 의해 수행된다.

Identification of Negative Stiffness Effects in Magneto-Rheological Fluid based Squeeze Film Damper (자기유변유체를 이용한 스퀴즈 필름 댐퍼에서의 부강성 효과 규명)

  • In order to investigate the stability of magneto-rheological fluid based squeeze film damper (MR-SFD), its negative stiffness effect, which arises from magnetization of MR-SFD, is identified theoretically and experimentally. The analytical model of MR-SFD includes the magnetic circuit as well as the displacement stiffness associated with the squeeze mode of MRF. Extensive experiments are carried out to measure the magnetic attraction forces generated in the MR-SFD, with the excitation frequency and the eccentricity of the journal varied, which are controlled by an active magnetic bearing. The simulation and experimental results are found to be in good agreement. It is concluded that the negative stiffness effect dominates only in the low frequency region because its effect diminishes in the high frequency region due to the eddy-current loss.

Source Identification in an Interior Sound Field (실내 공간에서의 음원 탐지 방법)

  • Identification of noose sources, their locations and strengths, has been taken great attention. The methods that can identify noise sources normally assume that noise sources are located in a free field. However, the sound in a reverberant field consists of that coming directly from the source plus sound reflected or scattered by the walls or objects in the field. In contrast to the exterior sound field. reflections are added to sound field. Therefore, we haute to consider the reverberation effect on the source identification method. The main objective of this paper is to identify noise source in the reverberant field. At fist, we try to identify noise sources in a rigid wall emc;psire using the beamforming method. In many cases of practical interest, the wall has admittance so that random reflections occur in an enclosure. In this paper, we assumed the complex reverberant field in the enclosure to be the sum of plane caves with random Incidence and magnitude. Then we try to explain effects of reverberant field at interior source identification.

  • Acoustic modes of internal region of 4-hp scroll compressor are identified by measuring transfer functions between a reference and 84 measuring points. The corresponding acoustic mode-shapes and natural frequencies were calculated by analysis software SYSNOISE. There exist two clearly distinguishable dipole modes of vertical and horizontal direction and a single quadrupole mode in the frequency region of interest. It shows that the natural frequencies of the identified modes are linearly sensitive to suction pressure (Ps) but relatively in sensitive to discharge pressure (Pd) in operating condition.

  • In this paper, it was analyzed the characteristics of electrical and acoustical variations for loudspeaker due to fabrication processes. First, mass of each components of loudspeaker was measured by electric precision scale and performed statistical analysis. Second. Thiele-Small parameters of sample loudspeakers produced by unskilled students were identified by known mass parameter identification method using electrical impedance method and investigated on the variations of each parameter. Electrical impedance tests and acoustic frequency responses were measured on sample loudspeakers and variations were examined to grasp relationship between components variation and fabrication processes. Main factors to effect the changes of electrical impedance were concluded by fabrication processes errors not by components of loudspeaker.

  • In this paper, computational analysis and experiments of subwoofer for car audio speaker system were performed and discussed to analyze acoustical phenomena for subwoofer. Ported enclosure system with subwoofer were manufactured and provided for test and simulation purposes. Subwoofer with single voice coil and double voice coil were identified by linear and nonlinear parameter identification method for loudspeaker parameters. For high power inputs to subwoofer, sound pressure levels were compared according to input powers with linear and nonlinear loudspeaker models. For subwoofer system with high power nonlinear speaker model was showed to be adequate to describe the behaviour of loudspeaker.

  • Major noise source in high speed rotating CD-Rom drives arises due to the high-speed airflow produced from the upper and lower surfaces on the rotating disk. The present paper deals with the experimental approach how to identify the noise source based on the fundamental principles of aeroacoustics and to propose a reduction method of the noise source. Experimental studies were carried out in the anechoic wind tunnel with various design modifications, such as tray geometry and window size, to identify and reduce the major aerodynamic noise source and significant reductions of the noise source were obtained.

  • Degradation occurred at the 6 inch swing check valve in nuclear power plant. Valve replacement and maintenance were carried out during the plant O/H. This report examined the degradation mechanism of the 6 inch check valve by the experimental and theoretical study. Results shows that the degradation was caused by valve chattering which due to the structural and acoustic resonance.

  • Presented in this paper is a new method of identifying the critical speed of rotor-bearing systems without actually reaching at the critical speed itself. Using the method, it is not only possible to calculate the critical speed by measuring a series of rotor responses at much lower rotating speeds away from and without reaching at the critical speeds but also the damping ratio and eccentricity of the system can be identified at the same time. Two types of test rotors were tested on the Rotor Dynamics Test Facility at the Rotordynamics Lab., KIMM, and the theory has been confirmed experimentally. The method can be adopted to monitor changes of the dynamic characteristics of critical rotating machinery before and after overhauls, repairs, exchanges of various parts, or to detect trends of direction of subtle changes in the dynamic characteristic parameters over a long periods of time.

  • 하드디스크의 트랙 밀도를 높이기 위해서는 충분한 서보대역을 갖는 액츄에이터를 개발하는 것이 필수적이다 이 논문에서는 액츄에이터의 동특성 중에서 서보대역을 제한하는 주된 요인을 알아보기 위해 실험 모드 해석과 유한 요소 해석을 수행하였다. 우선 액츄에이터를 구성하고 있는 VCM 코일, E 블럭, 서스펜션등의 부분계에 대한 유한 요소 해석을 수행하였고 모달 실험을 통해 이를 검증하였다. 검증된 각 부분계의 모델을 결합하여 한 개의 서스펜션을 갖는 액츄에이터 시스템의 유한 요소 모델을 개발하였고 이를 통해 서보 성능과 관계된 모달 파라미터들을 규명하였다.
