A Study on Changes of the Annoyance Perception for Sound Quality Characteristics of the Traffic Noise (교통소음의 음질 특성에 따른 불쾌도 감성변화에 대한 연구)

  • The A-weighting curve, very well explain the human perception for various frequency, is used to assess the traffic noise as well as the environmental noise. However, it does not reflect the annoyance perception appropriately because it assesses the noise at an A-weighted equivalent noise level of 1 kHz. In this study, we acquired the sound quality of traffic noise included various frequency and studied the human perception caused by change of frequency range.

  • This paper proposes a method of measuring and imaging the stiffness of human soft tissue to diagnose cancers or tumors which have been difficult to detect in ultrasound B-mode imaging systems. To measure the soft tissue stiffness, sinusoidal vibrations are applied to it, and the magnitude of its mechanical vibration is determined by estimating the temporal variation of speckle pattern brightness in ultrasound B-mode images. It is verified by simulation and experiment that the proposed method can estimate the relative tissue stiffness from B-mode images with a relatively small amount of computation.

The Measurement of Absorption Coefficient of Acoustic Material by using Impendance Tube Method (Impendance Tube를 이용한 흡음재의 흡음율 측정)

  • 흡음 계수는 흡음재의 흡음 특성을 제시해 주는 기본적 물리량이다. 본 연구에서는 일반적으로 흡음재로 사용되는 흡음재의 흡음 특성을 알기 위해 두께 18mm, 직경 105mm인 10종의 흡음재를 택하 여 흡음재의 흡음 계수를 구하였다. 이를 위해 impedance tube를 제작하여 관내에 흡음재를 넣은 후 관 내에 만들어진 정상파의 최대 음압과 최소음압의 비, 정상파비를 이용하여 흡음 계수를 구했다. 그 결과 흡음재의 흡음 특성은 진동수, 흡음재으 lwowlf, 두께 및 다공성에 크게 의존해 스폰지, 유리 섬유 등의 흡음 효과가 좋게 나타났으며 특히 같은 두께의 동일 흡음재일지라도 흡음재 뒷면의 공기층을 적절리 조절함으로써 특정 진동수 근처에서의 흡음 효과를 증대시킬 수 있었다.

  • This paper is related to remote meter-reading using magnetic sensor. Scan system which is developed recently has week point of temperature, humidity, dust, oscillation To solve these problems, this study used magnetic action to measure the consumption of gas. Gas consumption was detected by interaction of a permanent magnet and hall element. Permanent magnet was pasted on rolling change-gear in normal gas meter and hall sensor was pasted on the external wall of normal gas meter. This experiment proved high accuracy and wasn't influenced by temperature, humidity, oscillation and dust

  • This paper presents a tracking vibration estimation system of the track-following system using a tracking loop gain adjustment algorithm and a genetic algorithm. The algorithms are introduced to estimate accurately the tracking vibration quantity in spite of the uncertainties of the tracking actuator. An estimated actuator model can be found by applying a genetic algorithm. Accordingly, the tracking vibration quantity can be estimated from the measured tracking error, the tracking controller and the estimated actuator model. The proposed tracking vibration estimation method is applied to the track-following system of an optical recording device and is evaluated through the experimental result.

  • All critical equipment installed aboard naval ships and submarines is required to be shock-qualified by tests on the MIL-S-901D shock test machines where testing is practical. The intent of the shock requirements is to produce combat vessels which are resistant to the underwater explosion weapon attack. To efficiently design equipment for passing a series of shock tests, the shock environment of the shock test machines should be clearly identified. In this paper, the shock characteristics of the MIL-S-901D Light Weight Shock Machine(LWSM) are reviewed, based on the existing test data.

  • This study was Performed to grasp of the problem and improvement in traffic noise environmental impact assessment(EIA). National institute of environmental research(NIER) traffic noise prediction model is in general use in internal EIA. In this study, NIER noise prediction model need to improve in that the predicted results lower than the measured results. The other predict model(KLC KEI) is more accurate. Also the volume and speed of traffic is need to standardize in traffic noise prediction.

  • A large capacity hybrid-type linear motor damper was designed and fabricated for the application to the vibration control of a large building structure model. It has been designed to be able to move the damper mass, 1,500kg up to $\pm$ 250mm strokes at the first mode natural frequency of the building structure model, 0.51Hz. Dynamic response characteristics of the fabricated damper were investigated by experimentally and analytically.

  • This paper describes the evaluation of noise influence for residental and boundary areas in 75MW thermal power plant. It includes the measurements of noise level around the boundary area of the plant, identification of noise propagating path, and discussion on the measures. Noise assessments are carried out based on the ISO 3744, ISO 9613-1 and ISO 9613-2 to predict the noise distribution of specific locations from the noise sources such as power transformers, flash vent-pipe, I.D.fan, and stack. It is identified the vent-pipe of flash tank in thermal power plant as the root cause of the environmental noise during the plant commissioning process.

  • The exhaust noise of auxiliary engine in ships is directly transmitted to bridge wing with only distance attenuation. It is not easy to find out practical treatment to be applied between exhaust pipe and bridge wing to reduce the transmission of the exhaust noise. In general, therefore, a silencer is fitted to reduce the exhaust noise and correspondingly noise of bridge wing. The silencer should be properly designed under the consideration of the frequency component of the exhaust noise and the required performance such as noise reduction or insertion loss. In general, the gas inside the exhaust pipe flows with high temperature and speed and thus onboard test condition is more adverse than the standard atmospheric condition. In this study, the test method to evaluate silencer performance using a probe microphone is introduced.
