Performance Measurement of Diagnostic X Ray System (진단용 X선 발생장치의 성능 측정)

  • To examine the performance of a diagnostic X-ray system, we tested a linearity, reproducibility, and Half Value Layer(HVL). The linearity was examined 4 times of irradiation with a given condition, and we recorded a level of radiation. We then calculated the mR/mAs. And the measured value should not be more than 0.1. If the measured value was more than 0.1, we could know that the linearity was decreased. The reproducibility was analyzed 10 times of irradiations at 80kVp, 200mA, 20mAs and 120kVp, 300mA, 8mAs. The values from these analyses were integrated into CV equation, and we could get outputs. The reproducibility was good if the output was lower than 0.05. HVL was measured 3 times of irradiation without a filter, and we inserted additional HLV filters with 0, 1, 2, 4 mm of thickness. We tested the values until we get the measured value less than a half of the value measured without additional filter. We tested the linearity, the reproducibility, and HVL of 5 diagnostic X-ray generators in this facilities. The linearity of No. 1 and No. 5 generator didn't satisfy the standard for radiation safety around 300mA~400mA and 100mA~200mA, respectively. HVL of No.1 generator was not satisfied at 80kVp. The outputs were higher in the three-phase equipment than the single-phase equipment. The old generators need to maintain and exchange of components based on the these results. Then, we could contribute to getting more exact diagnosis increasing a quality of the image and decreasing an expose dose of radiation.

A Modified Bresenham's Line Drawing Algorithm Using Symmetrical Property of Line Segment (직선 선분의 대칭성을 이용한 수정 브레제남 직선 그리기 알고리즘)

  • A line segment has a symmetrical property about its midpoint. With this symmetrical property for a line segment we have proposed a variant of Bresenham's line drawing algorithm that selects two pixels at the same time. It implies that bi-directional line drawing toward the midpoint of line segment from each-end be possible. Besiders, it can select two pixels using only one decision parameter, instead of two different parameters for each pixel. We also present a theoretical proof for the correctness of such a selection. Thus, we can reduce the time of generating line segment by approximately less than 5% compared to the Bresenham's method. Also, our experimental results show that the shape of line segment generated by the proposed approach is the exactly same as that of Bresenham's method.

  • 혈액 내의 요소 농도는 신장병 진단의 척도로서 정확한 측정이 필요하다. 요소의 농도는 전위차법을 이용하여 정확히 검출할 수 있으며 이를 위하여 효소를 고정화시킨 전극형 센서를 사용하였다. 전도성 고분자로서 P3MT(Poly(3-methylthiophene) )와 PPy(polypyrrole)를 효소 고정화에 이용하였다. PPy는 전기적 특성이 좋고 중합 및 효소의 고정화가 용이하며 중합 과정이 상대적으로 신속하고 비용도 저렴하다는 장점은 있으나. 다소 불안정하다. P3MT는 PPy와 마찬가지로 전극 상에 단량체가 전기적 산화에 의하여 중합되고 일반적으로 전해질 이온이 도우핑된 상태나 도우핑 되지 않은 상태 모두에서 산소. 습도. 온도에 대하여 매우 안정하다. 본 연구에서는 3-methylthiophene과 pyrrole을 전기 중합하여 urease를 고정화한 요소센서의 특성(감도, 안정성, 직선성)을 비교하였다. P3MT를 이용한 센서와 PPy를 이용한 센서 각각에 대해 감도는 P3MT가 32.3mV/decade, PPy가 4.7mV/decate로서 P3MT가 우수하였고 직선성도 보다 뛰어났으며 순환 전압 전류 곡선을 분석한 결과 P3MT가 PPy보다 안정성도 우수한 특성을 보였다.

  • 단일광자방출전산화 단층촬영술을 이용한 영상정보를 효과적으로 얻기 위하여 고려되어야 할 사항으로는 1) 조준기(collimator)의 선택, 2) 기질(matrix)의 크기, 3) 회전각의 수 (number of angles), 4) 360도 또는 180도 획득(acquisition), 5) continuous 또는 step& shoot, 6) 원형 또는 비원형회전 등이 있다. 저자들은 비원형회전으로 검체와 검출기 사이의 거리를 단축시킴으로써 직선성, 균일성, 대조도, 해상력에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 원형회전 방법과 비교하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. (1) 비원형회전을 하여도 균일성(uniformity)과 직선성(linearlity)을 유지한다. (2) 균일성, 대조도(contrast), 해상력(resolution)들이 비원형 회전을 한 경우에 보다 더 개선되었다. (3) 영상 획득시간은 비원형회전인 경우에 더 소요되었다. (매스캔 당 10분) 따라서 검사자는 영상 화질의 개선효과와 상반되는 보정(calibration)과 설치(set-up)에 소요되는 시간(매스캔당 10분이상)을 비교하여 자료획득(data acquisition) 회전방법을 선택하여야한다.

Effect of Sintering Time on Degradation Characteristics of ZPCCY-Based Varistors (ZPCCY계 바리스터의 열화특성에 미치는 소결시간의 영향)

  • The electrical stability of ZPCCY-based varistors composing of ZnO-Pr$_{6}$O$_{11}$-CoO-C $r_2$ $O_3$- $Y_2$ $O_3$ ceramics were investigated in various DC accelerated aging stress with sintering times. Sintering time greatly affected electrical properties and stability. Sintering time decreased nonlinear exponent in the range of 51.2∼23.8 and increased leakage current in the range of 1.3∼5.6 ${\mu}$A. The varistor sintered for 1 h exhibited high nonlinearity, whereas relatively low stability. On the contrary, the varistor sintered for 3 h exhibited low nonlinearity, whereas relatively high stability. But the varistor sintered for 2 h exhibited not only good nonlinearity, with nonlinear exponent of 38.6 and leakage current of 3.6 ${\mu}$A but also high stability, in which the variation rates of varistor voltage, nonlinear exponent, leakage current, and dissipation factor are -0.80%, -1.81 %, +74.4%, and +0.88%, respectively.

  • 전자 액츄에이터의 일종인 LPM(linear pulse motor)은 직선왕복 운동을 필요로 하는 모든 응용기기의 구동에 적합한 선형 전동기로서 직접구동(direct drive)방식을 채택함으로써 회전형 전동기를 사용하는것과는 달리 감속장치, 동력전달 기구가 불필요하여 전체시스템의 구성에서 부품의 수를 줄일 수 있기 때문에 제품의 신뢰성이 향상되고 소형경량화 할 수 있다. 또한 LPM은 기계적 구조가 간단하고 비접속 직접구동이 가능하므로 기기의 특성 변화가 적고 보수성이 우수한 성능을 가지고 있다.

Linearity Estimation of PET/CT Scanner in List Mode Acquisition (List Mode에서 PET/CT Scanner의 직선성 평가)

  • Purpose: Quantification of myocardial blood flow (MBF) using dynamic PET imaging has the potential to assess coronary artery disease. Rb-82 plays a key role in the clinical assessment of myocardial perfusion using PET. However, MBF could be overestimated due to the underestimation of left ventricular input function in the beginning of the acquisition when the scanner has non-linearity between count rate and activity concentration due to the scanner dead-time. Therefore, in this study, we evaluated the count rate linearity as a function of the activity concentration in PET data acquired in list mode. Materials & methods: A cylindrical phantom (diameter, 12 cm length, 10.5 cm) filled with 296 MBq F-18 solution and 800 mL of water was used to estimate the linearity of the Biograph 40 True Point PET/CT scanner. PET data was acquired with 10 min per frame of 1 bed duration in list mode for different activity concentration levels in 7 half-lives. The images were reconstructed by OSEM and FBP algorithms. Prompt, net true and random counts of PET data according to the activity concentration were measured. Total and background counts were measured by drawing ROI on the phantom images and linearity was measured using background correction. Results: The prompt count rates in list mode were linearly increased proportionally to the activity concentration. At a low activity concentration (<30 kBq/mL), the prompt net true and random count rates were increased with the activity concentration. At a high activity concentration (>30 kBq/mL), the increasing rate of the prompt net true rates was slightly decreased while the increasing rate of random counts was increased. There was no difference in the image intensity linearity between OSEM and FBP algorithms. Conclusion: The Biograph 40 True Point PET/CT scanner showed good linearity of count rate even at a high activity concentration (~370 kBq/mL).The result indicates that the scanner is useful for the quantitative analysis of data in heart dynamic studies using Rb-82, N-13, O-15 and F-18.

  • A mugwort-tissue-based modified carbon paste electrode was constructed for the amperometric detection of hydrogen peroxide and its electrochemical properties are described. Especially the amperometric signal was very stable and bigger than any other enzyme electrode studied in this lab. The effect of tissue composition on the response was linear within the wide range of experiment and the linearity of Lineweaver-Burk plot showed that the sensing process of the biosensor is by enzymatic catalysis. And pH dependent current profile connoted that two isozymes are active in this system.

Effective Line Detection of Steel Plates Using Eigenvalue Analysis (고유값 분석을 이용한 효과적인 후판의 직선 검출)

  • In this paper, a simple and robust algorithm is proposed for detecting straight line segments in a steel plate image. Line detection from a steel plate image is a fundamental task for analyzing and understanding of the image. The proposed algorithm is based on small eigenvalue analysis. The proposed approach scans an input edge image from the top left comer to the bottom right comer with a moving mask. A covariance matrix of a set of edge pixels over a connected region within the mask is determined and then the statistical and geometrical properties of the small eigenvalue of the matrix are explored for the purpose of straight line detection. Before calculating the eigenvalue, each line segment is separated from the edge image where several line segments are overlapped to increase the accuracy of the line detection. Additionally, unnecessary line segments are eliminated by the number of pixels and the directional information of the detected line edges. The respects of the experiments emphasize that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing algorithm which uses small eigenvalue analysis.
