This study is to examine the infection management cognition and to practice of dental hygienists about their general characteristics, type of workplace. 354 dental hygienists in Daegu and Kyungbuk cities. The questionnaire survey was performed from April to May, 2015. These showed that factors of dental infection management according to workplace depended existence and nonexistence that chief of station and program of infection management, education of infection control(p<.001). Also cognition of dental infection control according to workplace drawed the protection individual(p<.05), asepsis procedure(p<.01), control of dental equipment(p<.001), control of infectious waste(p<.01) and laundry(p<.001), to practice of dental infection control according to workplace drawed the protection individual and asepsis procedure(p<.001), methods of disinfected and sterilized(p<.05), control of dental equipment and laundry(p<.001), control of infectious waste(p<.05). As above results, in order to minimize the infection prevention in the dental clinic, the regular infection control education for infection control of dental hygienists required, infection control guidelines place at the dental office.

The evaluation of occlusion using digital methods is easier and simpler in terms of recording, comparison, analysis, and objectivity compared to existing methods such as articulating paper and occlusion foil. The purpose of this case report was utilizing the digital method for evaluating occlusion. The occlusion of patient requiring full veneer crown restoration was evaluated using an intraoral scanner (i500, Medit, Seoul, Korea) at every visit. The occlusion was also assessed using conventional articulating paper and a digital occlusal analysis system (Dental prescale II, GC corp., Tokyo, Japan) for comparison. Throughout the treatment process, the intraoral scanner and the conventional articulating paper method showed similar outcomes. The results suggest that the use of digital evaluation system is highly probable in the near future.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the accessibility to dental facilities and the differences in chief complaints of new patients who visited Pusan National University Dental Hospital. We collected information from electronic medical records for 1,820 new patients. The accessibility was analyzed by measuring the distance from the patient's house to the dental facilities. The distance was categorized into 10 km sections, and the presence or absence of a local pediatric dental clinic within 10 km of the patient's house was also categorized. As the distance between the house and Pusan National University Dental Hospital increased, the proportion of patients who visited for dental caries decreased, and orthodontic treatment increased. Dental caries accounts for 27.9% of less than 10 km and 20.5% over 30 km. Orthodontic treatment accounts for 25.4% within 10 km and 27.3% more than 30 km away. The presence or absence of a local pediatric dental clinic within 10 km did not significantly affect the distribution of chief complaints. This study can be used as basic research data to establish effective treatment measures that can improve the physical and geographical accessibility of patients visiting pediatric dentistry.

We report for the first time a taxon of the genus Thyrocarpus (Boraginaceae) from Daecheongdo, Ongin-gun, Incheon-si in Korea. This taxon appears to be Thyrocarpus glochidiatus Maxim., previously known from China. The new Korean name, 'Dae-Cheong-Ji-Chi', was given considering the name of discovered location. A description, an illustration and a photograph were given.

Purpose: This study aimed to gain better understanding of the importance of dental prosthesis order platform services and to identify the essential elements for their enhancement and wider adoption among dental professionals. Materials and Methods: A survey was conducted to assess the perspectives of dentists, dental technicians, dental hygienists, and dental industry professionals toward dental prosthesis ordering and associated platform services (a total of 53 respondents). The questionnaire was devised after an expert review and assessed for reliability using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Factor analysis revealed that 57 factors across five categories accounted for 88.417% of the total variance. The survey was administered through an online questionnaire platform, and data analysis was conducted using a statistical software, employing one-way analysis of variance and Tukey's honestly significant difference test (α = 0.05). Results: The essential elements identified were accurate information input, effective communication, delivery of distortion-free impressions, convenience in data transmission and storage, development of stable and affordable platform services (P < 0.05). Furthermore, significant differences were observed in the importance of these items based on age, dental profession, and career experience (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The dental prosthesis ordering platform services, the requirements of dental personnel were stability, economic efficiency, and ease of transmitting and storing prosthesis data. The findings can serve as important indicators for the development and improvement of dental prosthesis order platform services.
