Experiments on Egress of Persons with Mobile Disability in Train Car (철도차량에서의 지체장애인 피난 실험)

  • Korean railroad company is continuously improving the service for the disabled. They also install and reform many facilities for them. However, It is not considered the importance of egress when fire occurred in a cabin Now, Fire hazard analysis and risk assessment are introduced into domestic regulations for improving fire safety performance of train car and railroad facilities. Considering the fact that fire safety evaluation process doesn't fully include disabled person, fundamental egress data for them is very important for life safety aspect. In this paper, Egress experiments and analysis were conducted to measure the movement speed of the disabled with Mugunghwa and Saemaul.

A Biographical Study of Social Exclusion Experiences - Focused on the Physical and Cerebral Palsy Disabled - (장애인의 사회적 배제 경험에 대한 생애사 연구 -지체와 뇌병변 장애인 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand social exclusion experiences with the disabled through a biographical study. It is analysed the interview date conducting an interview about 10 focused on the physical and cerebral palsy disabled with social exclusion experiences. The results show that it is multi-social exclusion including the inequality of approach opportunity of education, labor, education, medical, social participation, information, social service, space, health etc. It shows their life neglected and marginalized resulted from not providing social right as citizenship. And their social relationship is isolated by social exclusion and Other-directed identity is to be shaped in accordance to the method to define as regulated social ideals. Also, there is their painful and heavy life bound with double risky factors of disability and poverty. They share common historical experiences and social events impacted on their recognition and value among participants generation in biographical narrative. On the other hand, their life is reconstructed according to each their resource and standard to interpreter and evaluate on it. It suggests political and clinical implications in order to overcome the disabled's social exclusion, which is based on practical and vivid experiential dates from the participants.

Relationship among Parenting Stress, Welfare Services Perception and Quality of Life by Disability Types of Children (아동의 장애유형에 따른 부모의 양육스트레스, 복지서비스 인식 및 삶의 질 관계)

  • This study examined the effects of parenting stress on the quality of life in parents of children with disability, and moderating effects of welfare service perception in the process. This study conducted a survey to 327 parents who rear such children in Chungnam, Chungbuk and Daejeon provinces. This study utilized SPSS 18.0 for analysis, and the main results of this study were as follows. First, the level of parenting stress is shown higher level in parents who rear the children with developmental disabilities. The level of welfare service perception and quality of life is shown higher level in parents who rear the children with physical disabilities. Second, common influential factors of life quality were parenting stress, welfare service perception, sex of parents, disability degree and residential area. For parents who rear the children with developmental disabilities, education level of parents and for parents who rear the children with physical disabilities, age of Children show to be influential. Third, welfare service perception is shown to be statistically significant so that moderating effects is found in the relationship between the parenting stress and quality of life. Based on such empirical analysis results, this study suggested concrete and comprehensive working strategies to improve quality of life in parents of children with disabilities.

  • Most of information and communication assistance machinery and tools for disorder people of Occupied are machinery and tools for a visual impairment person and software, The things which can apply to only a specification disorder type and a specification disorder part are most, A special keyboard or a special mouse device of the handicapped person that disorder rank is comparatively the hardness makes the mainstream. It is reported in diffusion rate being very low if I compare this with total disorder population. I study new 1 plan which it can be applied to various disorder types and disorder parts through an intelligent special input device in a study of a book and, I designed this at the real standard that I could manufacture and incarnated it. In addition, I suggested this in a base for a design of a universal supporting input device and suggestion for the side of incarnation plan and a future study direction.

Identification of Evacuation Route Planning Elements for the Disabled by Considering Universal Design - A Study on the Welfare Center for the Disabled - (유니버설 디자인을 고려한 지체장애인 대피경로 계획요소 규명 - 장애인 종합복지관 시설을 대상으로 -)

  • Purpose: This study derived the planning factors affecting the evacuation route of facilities for the disabled and to identify the planning factors that affect each facility. Method: The PLS(Partial Least Square)Regression analysis was used to solve the problem of multicollinearity and number of samples. Result: As a result of analysis, The most important planning elements for each facility were derived as door: closing time (1.131), corridor: ramp for wheelchairs (1.227), stairs: emergency lighting for stairs (1.117), and evacuation space: evacuation space convenience facilities (1.106). Conclusion: In order to plan an effective evacuation route for the disabled, a universal design should be applied to consider the perception, needs, and satisfaction of the disabled, rather than a comprehensive reflection.
