A Study on the Effective Interpolation Methods to the Fluid-Structure Interaction Analysis for Large-Scale Structure (거대 구조물의 유체-구조 연계 해석을 위한 효과적인 보간기법에 대한 연구)

  • Generally, the events in nature have multi-disciplinary characteristics. To solve this problems, these days loosely coupled methods are widely applied because of advantage of solvers which are already developed and well proved. Those solvers use different mesh system, so transformation and mapping of data are vital in the field of fluid-structure interaction(FSI). In this paper, the interpolation of deformation which is used globally and compactly supported radial basis functions(RBF), and mapping of force which use principle of virtual work are examined for computing time and accuracy to compare ability with simple 3-D problem. As the results, interpolation scheme of compactly supported radial basis functions are useful to interpolation and mapping for large-scale airplane in FSI with a k-dimensional tree(kd-tree) which is a space-partitioning data structure for organizing points in a k-dimensional space.

Effectiveness of Isolation-System on Reduction of Seismic Response of Primary and Secondary Structures (주구조물 및 부구조물에 대한 감진장치의 지진응답 감소 효율성)

  • The effectiveness of the isolation system installed at the base of the primary structure and at the support of the substructure mounted on the primary structure is evaluated for reducing of structural responses under different earthquakes in this paper. The structural responses are analyzed to identify its behavior due to the input motion characteristics such as various peak acceleration and frequency content. Three analytical models are used to evaluate the effectiveness of the isolation system in this study as follows: fixed-base primary structure with support-fixed substructure, base-isolated primary structure with support-fixed substructure, and fixed-base primary structure with support-isolated substruciure. A computer code (KBISAP) is used for numerical integration of equation of motion considering the interaction between the primary structure and the secondary structure. The matrix condensation technique and constant average acceleration method are utilized in this program. And also, the effective stiffness of the base-isolator on reducing the structural response are evaluated for various earthquakes through the relationship of the acceleration - displacement.

A Study on the Design of Dolphin System for VLFS (부유식 해양구조물을 위한 돌핀 계류시스템의 설계 연구)

  • Dolphin mooring system can be a good candidate for the VLFS fastening system in view point of strength and effectiveness. In the design process of the dolphin system, precise calculation of the wave forces and the subsequent selecting the proper number of the piles adopted are one of the main factors. In this paper, one of the design process of the dolphin system is investigated and a proper configuration of the system is derived based on the structural characteristics of the system that was obtained through the structural analysis of the basic pile element confronted to the external loadings including wave impact load. It was found that lot the better design of ihe mooring system for VLFS, mono pile mooring system is more recommendable in a specific condition than other multi piles mooring system.

Cascaded Parsing Korean Sentences Using Grammatical Relations (문법관계 정보를 이용한 단계적 한국어 구문 분석)

  • This study aims to identify dependency structures in Korean sentences with the cascaded chunking. In the first stage of the cascade, we find chunks of NP and guess grammatical relations (GRs) using Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers for all possible modifier-head pairs of chunks in terms of GR categories as subject, object, complement, adverbial, etc. In the next stages, we filter out incorrect modifier-head relations in each cascade for its corresponding GR using the SVM classifiers and the characteristics of the Korean language such as distance between relations, no-crossing and case property. Through an experiment with a parsed and GR tagged corpus for training the proposed parser, we achieved an overall accuracy of 85.7%.

The adjustment stress and the effect of the social support on the adaptation of the North Korean defectors (탈북자의 적응스트레스와 사회적지지가 적응에 미치는 영향)

  • Due to the increasing concerns with the North Korean defectors, the researches have been increased.. However when compared with other areas, the researches about the North Korean defectors are rare. The sample size of this study is 171, which makes it possible to do statistical inferences. This study examines the adjustment stress and the effect of social support on the adaptation. As a demographic factors, gender, age and education are controlled. The context factors-the period of the stay in the third place, the period of residence and the existence of the education in Korea- are used as control variables. The research results show that the jobless is an important stressor. The structural social support affects the adjustment of stress as a whole and not individually. Among functional social support, the emotional social support is an important factor of adaptation, but the effect of structural social support is the opposite. Therefore, the adequacy of social support must be considered.

Influence of Rail Supporting Spacing of Railway Bridge Deck Ends on Bridge-Track Interaction Forces (교량-궤도 작용력에 대한 교량 단부에서의 레일지지점간격의 영향)

  • This paper, as a study for the serviceability design of railway bridges with concrete track, presents the effects of design parameters of tracks and bridges on the forces acting on the rail supports of the track. To calculate the forces acting on the track, an unequal spacing discrete supported model with different spacing of rail supports was induced. Design parameters are the rail support spacing of expansion joints above abutments or piers of bridges, the distance from the support of a girder to the last rail support on the end of the girder, and the number of additional rail supports. The causes of the displacement of track are axial force, unit vertical displacement, and unit rotation. From the analysis, the maximum compressive force and the maximum uplifting force acting on the rail supports were determined and the effects of the rail support spacing on the forces acting on the track were presented.

Behavior of Bearing Capacity for Shallow Foundation on a Sand overlying Clay Depending on Bearing Capacity Ratio (점토층 위 모래지반의 지지력비에 따른 얕은 기초의 지지력 거동)

  • When a structure which has relatively low load constructs on soft clay, the bearing capacity of the ground will be improved by sand overlying clay. In this condition, verifying the bearing capacity is difficult from the P.B.T etcetera in the in-situ. So, it is needed to estimate precise bearing capacity in the design process. In this study, 2-dimensional chamber tests and FEM analyses are conducted to evaluate behavior of bearing capacity for shallow foundations on a sand overlying clay. Because depth ratio H/B and bearing capacity ratio $q_c/q_s$ are selected as main factors, height of a sand, undrained shear strength of a clay and width of a loading are designated as variables. Results from chamber tests are very similar with those of FEM analyses. And it shows that punching shear mechanism is more suitable than the equation of Okamura et al.(1998). To make continual application of load spread mechanism, the equivalent load spread angle is proposed for H/B and $q_c/q_s$. Also, the linear regression equation of critical depth ratio Hf is suggested for $q_c/q_s$.

  • 국부진동에 의하여 영향을 받는 일부 부재를 분석하기 위하여 구조물 전체의 대하여 동적해석을 수행하는 것은 비경제적일 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 국부진동의 효율적인 해석을 위하여 부분구조법을 사용하였다. 선택된 부재의 해석에 사용할 경계조건을 구하기 위하여 자유도를 응축하는 행렬응축기법을 사용하였다. 해석의 정당성을 검토하기 위하여 경계조건을 고정지지와 단순지지한 경우와 비교하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 부분구조기법을 이용하면 가진층에 대해서는 효율적으로 매우 정확한 거동을 예측할 수 있지만, 가진층에서 멀리 떨어진 곳에 대한 거동 예측 시에는 다소 오차가 발생한다.

The Structures and Functions of Social Support for Adolescents from Non-Parental Seniors and Adolescents' Self-Esteem (청소년이 주변 연장자로부터 지각하는 사회적 지지의 구조와 기능 및 자아존중감)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the nature of adolescents' relationships with intimate and important people in their lives who are seniors to them. A sample of 1,220 adolescents was surveyed with a questionnaire. The questionnaire included questions on perceived support from non-parental senior figures as well as on adolescents' self-esteem. The results showed that. (a) Adolescents perceived their relatives to be more important than their teachers. (b) Male adolescents perceived support from a larger number of relatives than their female counterparts, whereas female adolescents perceived more support from their close senior figures than their male counterpart. (c) Adolescents' perception of support was different by their father's occupational status. (d) Overall, male adolescents's self-esteem was higher than female adolescents. The adolescents whose fathers held higher-status occupations had higher self-esteem than the adolescents whose fathers held lower-status occupations. (e) Male adolescents' self-esteem was affected by their GPA, father's occupational status, and the number of seniors whom they met on internet, and the amount of perceived support. Female adolescents' self-esteem was affected by father's occupational status and the amount of perceived support.

The Study of Improvement Effect of Ground Settlements and Bearing Capacity by Stone Columns (스톤컬럼 공법의 지내력 증진 효과에 대한 연구)

  • Aseries of in-situ tests and ground water level measurements with stone and slug materials had been conducted to find out effect of ground settlement reduction and bearing capacity improvement by the Stone Column method. As the result of the tests, it was proved that the Stone Column method is effective for reduction of ground settlement and improvement of bearing capacity. In addition the ground water level went down without overburden load. These results show that the Stone Column method is effective for an increase in density and resistance to liquefaction. The results of estimation of ground settlement and bearing capacity by general theoretical equation, it show that the Stone Column method increases bearing capacity by 2.7~5.7 times and decreases ground settlement by 2~3.5 times.
