The Korean government has established a plan on the 'service operating system of public libraries', which divides the local libraries into a central library, regional libraries, and small branches. However, due to the low interest of the libraries and, above all, the structural problems caused by the dualization of the library administrative bodies, no action plans have been developed. This study intends to propose an integrated operating system for public libraries in Busan metropolitan and to design specific roles and functions according to the library status. To the ends, this study examined the Korean government's plan for public library operation, analyzed the operation cases of foreign public libraries, and finally suggested the detailed action plan of an integrated operating system based on the case of Busan Metropolitan City. The data were collected from literature review and on site field survey, supplemented by e-mail inquiry and official statistical information.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between living satisfaction and income level and expenditure of the Disabled Households' and the mediation role of socioeconomic status in their relationship also the effect of the according to whether they receive basic living or not. The data and sample of total 2,906 households were extracted from the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (PSED) 8th data, and it was analyzed by the SEM(Structural equation model). The study results are as follows. First, Household income is negative effect on Engel and Schwabe Index, Socioeconomic status is positive effect on life satisfaction. and Socioeconomic status is partially mediated in the path between household income and life satisfaction and socioeconomic status full mediates the schwabe index and life satisfaction. Overall, the study results emphasizes the importance of the economic activity for security income of the disabled households, and it discusses about policy directions.

The purpose of this research is to examine the impact of marriage and parenthood on the physical and mental health, in consideration of gender differences. We have retested various theories including Gove's inequality theory to explain how marriage and parenthood affect the contemporary Korean men and women. This study tries to answer these questions by analyzing the data from ${\ulcorner}$Successful Midlife Development: Survey on Mental health and Work/Family Life Course in Korea and the United States (Han et at., 2001)${\lrcorner}. The data were collected from the survey of 1696 adults (women: 49.5% (n=839)) at the age of 27 to 60. In this survey, physical and mental health were evaluated in three dimensions, respectively: depression, perceived physical health and illness symptoms. The results were that occupying both marital and parental status showed better health profile than possessing other role combinations(single parent/married but no child/never-married). Gender differences and other findings have been discussed further.

上古时代原始性的巫术信仰和政治有着不可分割的关系, 可以说原始宗教信仰和巫术信仰的性质有一脉相通的方面, 上古时代原始性的巫术信仰和妇女有着不可分割的关系, 所以在后代妇女们的宗教活动中也起着极大的影响, 不过巫师的作用和与宗教性相关联的巫儿相比, 其由神格化人物被升华到具有以强大威力降神或管理超自然, 给人间降祸福等非凡的超能力。并且, 具有巫师资格和非凡能力的主观条件是作为代替神和上帝及鬼神相同的象征性人物要有超越一般人的灵验能力。虽然尚不能明确巫师的起源从何时开始, 但其存在是不可否认的事实。并且由巫师的职责带有和宗教直接性的关联这点来看不仅和"巫儿之俗"不是没关系, 而且可以判断为这点由某种关联性变迁而来的。另外特别认为这种和政治社会无法分割的关系决不是一种偶然。它是从上古时代没有消失, 不断流.

한국여성은 전통적으로 대가족제도 속에서 육아 및 가사활동에만 종사해왔다. 그러나 산업화 및 사회구조의 변화로 여성들도 교육의 기회를 갖게 되었으며 전통적인 역할 수행에 대한 가치변화와 함께 여성의 사회적 역할을 필요로 하게 되었다. 반면에 가족 형태가 핵가족화 함으로서 가족 내에서의 자녀양육을 비롯한 가정적 역할이 더욱 중요시 되게 되었다. 오늘날 한국사회는 여성에게 현재의 사회구조와 핵가족 속에서는 시간적으로 동시에 수행할 수 없는 두 가지 상반된 역할을 강조하고 있는 것이다. 이러한 상반된 역할사이에서는 여성은 갈등과 좌절감을 느끼게 되며 이중적인 부담 속에서 생활하게 되었다. 본 원고에서는 전통적인 한국의 가족가치관을 살펴보고 건강관리 측면에서 여성의 역할을 살펴보고 건강관리 측면에서 여성의 역할을 살펴보고자 한다. 전통적 가족가치관과 여성-우리나라의 전통적 가족은 부계 중심의 혈연 계승을 중요시하는 가부장적 대가족제도라 할 수 있다. 따라서 부계 계승을 통한 가족의 영속성과 가 중심사상에 기반을 둔 철저한 가족주의적 가치관이 전통적 사회를 지배하여 왔다. 그러므로 자연히 개인보다 가족집단이 우의적인 지위에 있을 뿐만 아니라 모든 행동의 결정에도 중요한 준거 집단이 되었다. 이러한 가의 영속 및 번영을 가장 효과적으로 수행하기 위해서는 많은 자녀를 필요로 했으며 부계중심 가족에서 자연히 남아 선호사상이 강할 수밖에 없었으며 이것은 조상에 대한 의무요 책임이라 생각했다. 이러한 가부장권의 확대에 반비례해서 가정 내에서 여성의 지위와 역할은 축소되어갔다. 여성들의 절대적인 예속을 필요로 하여 삼종지도니 칠거지악이니 불경이부등의 도덕률을 만들었으며 여성들 스스로가 이러한 정절과 복종을 미덕으로 생각하도록 교육받음으로서 여성들 자신이 자기희생의 굴레 속에서 인내와 복종의 생활을 운명처럼 받아들이게 되었으며 남편과 자식을 위해서는 목숨까지도 희생하게끔 철저히 사회화되었던 것이다. 그러나 가족 제도 안에서의 남녀의 지위는 동위 항렬 내에서만 해당되고 항렬을 달리할 때는 삼종지도의 이론에 부합된다. 어머니로서의 존장련이 인정되어서 가정 내에서의 여성의 종속적인 지위에 비하여 모의 권한은 절대적이었다. 상례와 제례에서 어머니와 아버지에 대한 의식에는 차이가 없으며 내외 명부제도에 의해서 부인도 남편과 똑같은 대우를 받도록 되어있다. 이러한 존장련에 의한 모의 권리와 더불어 부부유별에 의해서 가사권의 독자적인 결정권도 인정되고 있었다. 건강관리 측면에서 여성의 역할- 전통적으로 건강관리에 관련된 한국여성의 역할은 1. 씨받이로서의 역할로 생명을 잉태하도록 돕고 건강한 아이의 수태를 위해 태교에 힘썼으며 2. 자녀의 의식주를 해결하는 가사 역할만을 담당하는 전통적인 여성의 역할만을 수행하였으며 출산한 생명을 건강하게 자라도록 건강관리를 철저히 하였으나 체계적인 건강관리는 되지 못하였으며 특히 식생활에 유의하였으나 정서, 사회면은 도외시 한 과잉보호현상이었다. 3. 결혼 후에는 남편의 건강관리를 위해 철저하였으며 특히 식생활에 유의하였고 정서적으로 부담을 주지 않도록 유념하였다. 4. 또한, 임종시 평안한 죽음을 맞도록 도왔다. 전통적으로 한국여성의 역할은 돕는 역할이었다.

This study explores the determinants of economic status and well-being among elderly Koreans. Particular emphasis is paid to the role of intergenerational support in these processes because institutional responses to an aging population in Korea are currently inadequate. Path model results indicate that status maintenance variables have significant effects on economic status and well-being as measured by comprehensive income. Further, inequality in comprehensive income - as measured by the Gini and Theil's indices - is substantial and increases in successive age groups. However, market-based and family-based income, two components of comprehensive income, show different patterns. Inequality in market-based income is apparently increasing, while inequality in family-based income is decreasing gradually in successive age groups. With respect to the role of intergenerational support, results indicate that family-income-focused persons possess highly vulnerable sociodemographic characteristics, and that for the socially disadvantaged elderly Koreans, intergenerational support plays a crucial role in the later stages of life. This study also discusses the implications of these findings for the transition from latency to manifestation of intergenerational support in Korea.

${\Box}$ 제82차 세계동물보건기구(OIE) 총회가 지난 5월 24일~5월 30일까지 프랑스에서 158개국 500여명이 참석한 가운데 개최 ${\bigcirc}$ 총회에는 WHO, FAO 등 국제기구와 함께 브라질, 독일 등 41개국 장관 및 차관 등 고위급 인사 참석 ${\Box}$ 우리나라는 농림축산식품부(이하 농식품부) 차관보를 단장으로 대표단을 구성하여 현지 대응 등을 통해 OIE 총회에서 구제역(FMD), 소해면상뇌증(BSE, 일명 광우병) 등 4개 질병 청정국 지위를 획득함 ${\bigcirc}$ 4개 질병 청정국은 구제역(백신접종 청정국), 소해면상뇌증(위험무시국), 가성 우역 아프리카마역(청정국) ${\Box}$ 구제역, BSE 등 청정국 지위획득은 우리나라 축산물의 안전성에 대한 신뢰성 제고, 수출가능성 확대 등 효과가 기대됨 ${\Box}$ 농식품부는 청정국 획득만큼이나 앞으로 청정국 유지가 중요하다고 강조하면서, 축산농가 및 국민들의 지속적인 방역 협조를 당부함.

In order to characterize the ecological traits of Q. mongolica, we treated the seedlings of this species with three environmental factors, light, moisture and nutrient gradients from March to October 2007, and measured morphological and ecological 17 characters. Lastly calculated ecological niche breadth and niche overlap between Q. mongolica-Q. acutissima and Q. mongolica-Q. variabilis, and analysed them with a special reference to ecological distribution pattern and their competition relationship in Korea. The ecological niche breadth of Q. mongolica showed the lowest in nutrient treatment, but the highest in soil moisture treatment. The ecological niche value under light was intermediate. On comparison of the ecological niche breadth of three oak species, Q. mongolica showed the highest in light environment, which might be a reason for the dominant distribution in the forest plant community, Korea. The ecological niche overlap of Q. mongolica-Q. acutissima and Q. mongolica-Q. varabilis was the widest in moisture treatment, but the narrowest in nutrient treatment and the intermediate in light one. These results means that these three oak species be most competitive in moisture environment than light or nutrient one, and that there are least differentiated among oak species for soil moisture condition. Cluster and PCA ordination showed that Q. mongolica and Q. acutissima were more closely arranged than Q. mongolica and Q. variabilis. From these results, it can be explained that Q. mongolica have more similar ecological niche with Q. acutissima than with Q. variabilis, consequently competition between Q. mongolica and Q. acutissima is intensive than Q. mongolica and Q. variabilis for environment condition, especially in soil moisture.

This paper is aimed at defining the meaning of 'de' in The Book of Document on the basis of it's various example of use and the relation between it and tian(天) ming(命). The conclusion is that 'de' in this book means a special quality of fulfill a ideal role required to a specific being. By the way the role in the case of man is determined by his position. Therefore 'de' is redefined as a special quality of fulfill a ideal role required to a specific position. In short, de can be defined as 'appropriation to a specific being'. The ideal role which is the basis of de is determined first-hand by tianming (天命) and a king's order according to it, and is determined basically by mores. The meaning of 'de' in this book as 'appropriation' defines 'de' monistically and also connotes easily it's various example of use. De in the case of things is interpreted as appropriation to it's nature and in the case of man to his position. And the meaning of 'de' like this gives the basis to interpret 'governing with de'(德治) in the Analects of Confucius as zhenming(正名).
