Knowledge maps for science and technology are used extensively in the research projects. However, they are not organized systematically and are not necessarily suitable to be used in the research projects. Therefore, this study aims to organize the knowledge maps in order to support scientific research projects. To this end, the existing knowledge maps for science and technology are classified as one of four types based on data representation methods; the frequency summary map, trend summary map, distribution-based knowledge map and network-based knowledge map. Additionally, by summarizing and classifying the knowledge maps through the principle of 'five w's and one h', the unexplored area are investigated. Finally, some examples of useful knowledge maps in terms of data analysis are provided with details such as definitions, components and utilization purposes. These findings may be a starting point for future research into a better understanding of knowledge maps for science and technology.

지식관리시스템의 지식 분류 체계가 지식맵이며 이 지식맵을 이용하여 지식 서비스가 제공된다. 그러나 현재의 지식맵은 비표준적인 지식 네트웍 구조와 정적인 분류체계라는 문제를 가진다. 문제 해결 방법은 지식맵에 온틀로지를 적용해서 표준성, 의미 기반의 지식 네트웍 구조. 동적인 지식분류, 자동화된 지식서비스를 제공하는 새로운 개념의 지식맵을 구현하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 토픽맵 모델을 기반으로 온톨로지를 생성, 저장, 검색하는 효율적인 온톨로지 관리 시스템인 K-Box를 구현하였다. K-Box는 온톨로지 관리를 위한 기본적인 기능들을 제공하며, 이질적인 저장소들을 일관된 인터페이스로 접근할 수 있도록 함으로써 저장 장치 독립성을 제공하였다. 또한, 저장 관리되는 모든 온톨로지들의 무결성을 보장하기 위한 새로운 기법과 사용자 관심을 중심으로 한 온톨로지 검색 지원을 위한 방법을 제안하였다. 마지막으로, 우리는 여러 온톨로지들을 적용해 봄으로써 K-Box 시스템이 효율적으로 사용 가능함을 확인하였다.

There has been many researches in TopicMap and RDF which are approach to handle data efficiently with metadata. However, No researches has been performed to service and implement except for presentation and description. In this paper, We suggest the caching mechanism to support an efficient access of knowledgemap and practical knowledgemap service with implementation of TopicMap system. First, We propose a method to navigate Knowledgemap efficiently that includes advantage of former methods. Then, To transmit TopicMap efficiently, We suggest caching mechanism for knowledgemap. This method is that user will be able to navigate knowledgemap efficiently in the viewpoint of human, not application. Therefor the mechanism doesn't cash topics by logical or physical locality but clustering by information and characteristic value of TopicMap. Lastly, we suggest replace mechanism by using graph structure of TopicMap for efficiency of transmission.

Assuming that the knowledge creation and retrieval functions could be the most important factors for a successful knowledge management(KM) especially during the promotion stage of KM, this study suggests an e-learning application as one of best methods for producing knowledge and also the integrated knowledge repository model in which learning, knowledge. and information objects can be semantically associated through topic map-based knowledge map. The traditional KM system provides a simple directory-based knowledge map. which can not provide the semantic links between topics or objects. The proposed model can be utilized as a solution to solve the above-mentioned disadvantages of the traditional models. In order to collect the basic data for the proposed model, first, case studies utilizing interviews and surveys were conducted targeting at three Korean insurance companies' knowledge managers(or e-learning managers) and librarians. Second, the related studies and other topic map-based pilot systems were investigated.

최근 산업경쟁이 심화되면서 지식은 기업 가치에서 점점 더 많은 비중을 차지하고 있다. 이러한 지식을 기업의 자산으로서 체계적으로 관리하고 확산시키기 위하여 지식관리 시스템이 등장하였다. 본 논문은 문서 검색을 이용하는 지식관리 시스템의 설계를 대상으로 한다. 특히, 지식관리 시스템의 효과적인 문서 검색을 위하여 온톨로지 맵을 구성하고, 지식 검색에 이용하고자 한다. 온톨로지 맵의 구축과 수정 및 확장 방안을 제안하고, 질의에 대해 적합한 문서를 추출하기 위하여 질의어와 온톨로지 맵 간, 온톨로지 맵과 문서간의 유사성을 측정하고 이를 결합하는 방법을 설명한다. 이러한 온톨로지 맵을 이용한 지식관리에 관한 연구는 지식의 체계적인 유지 및 확장성뿐 아니라, 지식 검색의 정확성과 유연성을 배가할 수 있을 것이다.

In this paper, we provide a basic data to constitute knowledge map through analysis of competition situation such as analysis of patent activity for each nationality, analysis of patent activity for each applicant for a patent, analysis of patent activity for each technical area and analysis of competition status for power of security for market which consider qualitative level. In order to analysis LED data, we choose patent data of LED.

이 연구는 정보와 지식을 효과적으로 시각화하기 위해 만들어진 개념적 맵(Conceptual map)들의 종류와 그 특성과 차이점을 분석하고 활용 방안으로서 디지털 스토리텔링으로의 적용 가능성과 방법에 대한 연구이다. 사회현상에 존재하는 다양한 정보에서 사용자가 원하는 정보를 검색하고 조직하기 위해 다이어그램, 그래프, 맵 등 정보시각화를 통한 여러 방법들이 사용되고 있다. 특히 이 중에서 맵을 이용한 시각화에 주목하는 이유는 수많은 정보와 지식을 기반으로 만들어진 개념적 지도가 정보와 지식을 표현해 줄 뿐만 아니라, 이들 사이의 관계를 조직해주는 데에도 효율적으로 사용되고 있기 때문이다. 이러한 정보시각화는 대량의 정보 속에서 사용자들이 찾고자 하는 정보를 빠르고 용이하게 찾을 수 있도록 도와준다. 또한, 일련의 스토리 라인을 갖고 있는 책의 시각화의 경우 등장인물과 그들 주변에서 일어나는 사건들의 관계를 형상화할 수 있다. 이러한 과정을 통해 만들어진 개념적 맵에서는 개개인이 알고 있는 이야기와 그에 관한 정보를 다른 사람들과 의사소통하며 그 정보와 지식들이 확장될 수도 있어, 이는 지식시각화의 좋은 활용사례가 될 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 대표적인 개념적 맵의 세 가지 종류인 개념맵(Concept map), 지식맵(Knowledge map), 토픽맵(Topic map)의 정의와 특성들을 살펴보고, 각각의 구성요소의 차이점을 비교하여 시각화 방법론을 제안하였다. 또한, 각 맵의 특성과 차이점을 이용해 루이스 캐롤(Lewis Carroll)의 <이상한 나라의 엘리스>의 이야기 요소들을 각각의 개념적 맵들로 구성해봄으로써, 그 효과를 확인해보았다. 스토리텔링을 개념적 맵을 이용하여 표현할 경우, 사용자들은 스토리텔링을 효과적으로 접근할 수 있으며, 이러한 분석은 개념적 맵을 제작할 때 가이드라인으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

In this paper, we analysis a competition to organize knowledge map as initial prepare stage based on intellectual property. We also propose the method that can be used to constitute knowledge map related in area to use basic data. In order to extract analysis data, we choose LED as an analysis technology. We provide the result of total analysis for LED application area through analysis of patent level after we extract recent patent ratio, activity index, patent family size, cites per patent as center of patent data.

Evolutionary Computation is not only widely used in optimization and machine learning, but also being applied in creating novel structures and entities. This paper proposes evolutionary topic maps that can suggest new and creative knowledge not easily producible by humans. Interactive evolutionary computation method is applied into topic maps in order to accept human evaluation on feasibility of intermediate topic maps. Evolutionary topic maps are creativity support tools, helping users to encounter new and creative knowledge. Further work can greatly improve the system by providing more operations, preventing over-convergence, and overcoming user fatigue problem by providing more intuitive user interface, better visualization, and interpolation mechanisms.

한국광학기기산업협회가 지난 8월 23일 서울 방배동 소재 함지박 별관에서 '광분야 R&D 로드맵 관련 지식경제부 초청 간담회'를 개최했다. 이번 간담회에는 지식경제부 전자산업과에서 LED 및 광분야의 국가 로드맵을 담당하고 있는 오대곤 프로젝트 디렉터(PD)를 비롯해 20여 명의 한국광학기기산업협회 회원사 대표 및 관계자들이 참석해 국내외 광산업에 대한 다양한 의견을 나눴다.
