A study on the Implementation of Institutional Repository based on Open Access (오픈액세스기반 지식정보저장소 구축에 관한 연구)

  • This study is carried out as a precedent work for the implementation of an Open Access Initiative(OAI) compatible with Korean libraries. Institutional Repository is a new concept for collecting, managing, disseminating, and preserving scholarly works created in digital form by faculty and researchers in individual organizations according to open access paradigm. This study briefly outlines the need for Institutional Repository, their role, constitutional elements, benefits and drawbacks. This is followed by recent case studies of SHEPRA, Dspace, eDoc Server and dCollection. The conceptual model of Institutional Repository was suggested and the key considerations to be taken into account for the successful implementation of Institutional Repository at the beginning stage were proposed from a stakeholder's perspective.

  • Assuming that the knowledge creation and retrieval functions could be the most important factors for a successful knowledge management(KM) especially during the promotion stage of KM, this study suggests an e-learning application as one of best methods for producing knowledge and also the integrated knowledge repository model in which learning, knowledge. and information objects can be semantically associated through topic map-based knowledge map. The traditional KM system provides a simple directory-based knowledge map. which can not provide the semantic links between topics or objects. The proposed model can be utilized as a solution to solve the above-mentioned disadvantages of the traditional models. In order to collect the basic data for the proposed model, first, case studies utilizing interviews and surveys were conducted targeting at three Korean insurance companies' knowledge managers(or e-learning managers) and librarians. Second, the related studies and other topic map-based pilot systems were investigated.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the causal relationships among knowledge management system(KMS) quality, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, and continuance use of KMS. The results of data analysis by structured equation model(SEM) indicate that KMS quality significantly influences individual's perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Perceived ease of use affects individual's perceived usefulness on KMS. Individual's perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness affect on the creation of a positive attitude, and attitude affects continuance use of KMS. Based on the results, theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed.

  • Center of labor power was moved from physical labor to knowledge labor on modern knowledge society comparing with past industrial age, but dramatic result is not appearing in knowledge worker's productivity. "Peter F. Drucker" called "father of modern business management" is essential factor of knowledge labor based on expert, performance, concentration, own administration official, second half of life. And studied about task, reform, autonomy, education, quality, relation of information communication that is knowledge worker's productivity determinant factor. As research result, was expose that relativity is high by performance>concentration>own administration official>expert, second half of life in essential factor of knowledge labor. Specially, all productivity determinants and effect factor were performance by result to knowledge worker. Therefore, knowledge worker can expect formation's target and performance though search and practical use of continuous information are achieved in own field.

  • Based on a comprehensive literature review on Theory of Planned Behavior and Social Cognitive Theory, this study proposes and empirically examines a structural model consisting of factors affecting voluntary information security compliance behavior. To test the proposed research model, the study analyzes survey results from employees of a major Korean energy company, which employs an enterprise compliance support system. Results indicate three factors: compliance behavioral belief and compliance knowledge affect compliance behavior; compliance knowledge works as a mediator in the relationship between compliance behavioral belief and compliance behavior; and the more relevant the compliance is to an employee's job, the more the employee prioritizes compliance knowledge. This study suggests methods for encouraging employees to embrace voluntary, positive information security compliance standards. By doing so, this article aims to promote a more effective corporate compliance system for information security and enhance sustainable management practices.

A Study on the Influencing Factors of Knowledge Sharing at GKMC (GKMC하 지식공유영향요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed the influencing factors for knowledge sharing at GKMC, and then tried to illuminate the policy meanings implied in the results. To build a framework of analysis, reviewing the KM-related studies, the author selected five influencing factors for knowledge sharing, such as CMC quality, community commitment, structural social capital, cognitive social capital, and relational capital, and actors, and identified the fact that all the factors have a positive effect on knowledge sharing. In the case of Kwang-ju metropolitan city, the first factor that affects knowledge sharing is community commitment, the second one is CMC quality, and the third one is structural social capital. This result means that to succeed in knowledge sharing, the local government managers should try to shape the bonding among members, and then to get rid of the causes of complaints. In addition, local government also needs to predict problems claims and take proper actions for GKMC to be used conveniently through monitoring their work continuously. Furthermore, they should make a free and happy working environment, closely examining the change of the relationship among social capitals.

Perceived Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice among University Librarians (대학도서관 사서가 인식한 근거기반실무 지식의 영향 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the levels and factors influencing perceived knowledge of evidence-based practice(K-EBP) among university librarians. The results were as follows. Variables with significant differences in K-EBP were age, education level, employed type, position, frequency of reading journal articles, and attendance of conference. Multiple regression analysis showed that the predicting factors influencing K-EBP were education level and frequency of reading journal articles. Also, It turned out to be weak in critically appraising and applying research evidence in practice, and in understanding research literature and conducting research among items of K-EBP. For developing university librarians' K-EBP, they need to improve overall research literacy. Library organization and library sectors need to support research activities of librarians. Finally, many different education programs are needed to develop librarians' research skill and to utilize for enlargement of evidence-based practice.

A Study of Success Factors and Profitability of the E-village Shopping Mall Supported by the Korean Government (정부주도의 농촌 정보화마을 전자상거래 모델의 성공요인과 수익성에 대한 연구)

  • In this research, we analyzed the performance of the e-village shopping mall as an online agricultural business platform. The results suggested some critical factors that might assist the e-village owners to increase their sales by implementing the e-village information systems. We hypothesized that IT education, IT usage, online community activity, and organizational knowledge sharing influenced the e-village sales. Moreover, we investigated the moderating effect of rural experience tourism on those independent variables (IT education, IT usage, online community activity, and organizational knowledge sharing). The results indicated that online community activity had a positive effect on the online business sales, while IT education, IT usage, and organizational knowledge sharing showed insignificant effects. Furthermore, the interaction effects between rural experience tourism and both IT education and the IT usage were positive and significant. Thus, we conclude that the rural experience tourism moderated the relationship between (1) IT education and e-village sales, and (2) IT usage and e-village sales, but not the relationship between (1) online community activity and e-village sales, and (2) organizational knowledge sharing and e-village sales.

Effects of Shopping Motivation Factors on Customer Satisfaction: Focusing on the Companion Animal Online Shopping Mall (쇼핑동기요인이 고객만족에 미치는 영향: 반려동물 온라인 쇼핑몰을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is, for the first time in Korea, to examine the effects of companion animal online shopping motivation factors on customer satisfaction. In addition, we analyzed the moderating effect of the number of companion animals raised. The factor analysis of survey data yields the following five dimensions: convenience, economic, hedonistic, product characteristics, and information-knowledge shopping motivation. Multiple regression analysis shows that both convenience shopping motivation and information-knowledge shopping motivation have significant positive (+) effects on customer satisfaction. As a result of hierarchical regression analysis, it was found that there is a moderating effect of the number of companion animals raised on the relationship between information-knowledge and customer satisfaction.
