  • The ophemeropterans such as Epeorus pellucidus, Uracanthella rufa and Drunella uculea were dominated in station 1. It was generally showed the stable aquatic communities with low dominance index values throughout the year in station 2. The first dominant species in station 3 were all mayflies with the average DI value of 0.38. The first dominant species of Uracanthella rufa known as relatively tolerant species in station 4. A crustacean species Gammarus spp. have frequently occurred as the 1st or 2nd dominant species in station 5. Limnodrilus socialis, and Chironomus spp. were dominated in stations 6 and 7 Station 1, 2 and 3 were classified as oligosaprobic status according to their average diversity index values ranging from 3.46 to 3.52. Station 7 showed $\alpha$-mesosaprobic water condition with the overall average diversity value of 1.26. In general, the equitability and species richness values in the same sampling areas had close relations with their diversity values. The dendrogram drawn by dissimilarity values among 7 sampling sites indicates that the macrobenthic communities were divided into 3 groups: stations 1, 2, 3 and 4; stations 6 and 7; and station 5 alone.

  • Effective detection and correction of outliers of raw traffic data collected from the field is of keen interest because reliable traffic information is highly dependent on the quality of raw data. Global positioning system (GPS) based traffic surveillance systems are capable of producing individual vehicle speeds that are invaluable for various traffic management and information strategies. This study proposed a locally weighted regression (LWR) based filtering method for individual vehicle speed data. An important feature of this study was to propose a technique to generate synthetic outliers for more systematic evaluation of the proposed method. It was identified by performance evaluations that the proposed LWR-based method outperformed an exponential smoothing. The proposed method is expected to be effectively utilized for filtering out raw individual vehicle speed data.

  • The purpose of the study was to evaluate fish community, based on conventional at Shannon-Weaver diversity index (H'), and ecological health, based on the Index of Biological Integrity (IBI) using fish assemblage in the eight sites of Nakdong River during June${\sim}$August 1999. Total number of species sampled was 19 species, and two sensitive species of Zacco temminckii (51%) and Rhynchocypris oxycephalus (28%) dominated the fish community. Also, trophic guild analyses showed that insectivore was 87% of the total and omnivore was rare, indicating that the ecological health is well maintained in the system. The pattern of spatial variation in the diversity index(H') was very similar to patterns of the species number and individual number, whereas the pattern of H' was not matched with the tolerance and trophic guild data. The diversity index (H') showed highest (1.56) in Site 6 where the proportion of sensitive species and tolerant species was minimum and maximum, respectively, and where the insectivore and omnivore were minimum and maximum. In other words, the diversity index was not matched at all with the trophic and tolerant guilds, indicating that the conventional index did not reflect the ecological characteristics of fish community in the system. In the mean time, the ecological health (IBI) averaged 33.5 (n=8), indicating "good${\sim}$fair condition" and the IBI values matched with trophic and tolerance guilds. Maximum IBI occurred in Site 2 where the sensitive and msectivore species were nearly maximum, and the tolerant and omnivore species were almost minima, indicating that IBI values were closely associated with the ecological functions and health conditions. Overall data suggest that the conventional diversity index may not effective for a evaluation of fish community, and that in contrast the IBI approach may be a useful tool for diagnosis of stream community.

  • This study examined the relationship between oral health behaviors and in senior citizens to determine how to improve their happiness index. The subjects in this study were 260 senior citizens aged 65 years or older, who resided in North Jeolla Province. A survey was conducted from June 17 to 30, 2016. The happiness index of elderly people who brushed their teeth more often and had dental checkups on a regular basis was significantly higher (p<0.05). Evaluation of subfactors associated with quality of life related to oral health showed significant differences in functional disturbances according to gender, age, the presence or absence of a spouse, and the use or nonuse of dentifrice (p<0.05). Physical pain significantly varied with the presence or absence of a spouse, educational level, monthly mean allowance, and regular dental checkups (p<0.05); significant differences were found in psychological discomfort according to gender, tooth brushing frequency, and regular dental checkups (p<0.05). There were significant differences in declining physical capacity according to gender, age, educational level, and monthly mean allowance (p<0.05); waning mental capacity significantly differed with age, living alone or with another person, the presence or absence of a spouse, and regular dental checkups (p<0.05). The factors that influenced the happiness index in senior citizens were age, living alone or with another person, educational level, monthly mean allowance and the Oral Health Impact Profile score (p<0.05). The study showed that measures are needed to improve the quality of life and happiness index in elderly people, including the development of oral health programs for this population.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among the anthropometric measurements, body composition indices, biochemical indices and serum leptin level of obese school children. The study was conducted on 97 elementary school children from 4-5th grade residing in Daegu and Kyungbuk area. Obesity was defined as fat percentage that exceed 25% of body fat mass. The prevalence of obesity of subject was 58.3% for male and 54.1% for female. The mean value of height, weight, body composition indices and biochemical indices of obese group were significantly higher than those of control group. The leptin level was significantly different in obese group but showed no difference by gender. The differences of leptin level were according to adiposity and BMI in obese subjects. Multiple regression analysis data showed that the BMI and body fat mass may influence on the leptin level of subject. Also, these data revealed the leptin resistance in obese children and relationship between leptin level and various factors including anthropometric measurements, body composition and biochemical indices. Additional research should be necessary to assess the mechanism of leptin resistance in obese children.

  • Objectives : This study is to examine the effectiveness in the oral health promotion through the oral health education for high school students. In adolescence, there seems to be the high incidences of dental caries, gingivitis and periodontal diseases. Concerning preventing all such outbreaks, this study focuses on applying the oral health education to their health education, and on analyzing its effectiveness. Methods : To verify its effectiveness, this research administered 85 students of both genders of a certain high school in Seoul during May-October 2010, followed by the evaluation of DMFT, S-PHP, and CPITN. Results : First, the oral health promotion through the education was statistically significant in the permanent effects of index (FT index). Second, the effect of S-PHP index gradually decreased in statistics from the first to the fifth session, but, after five months ever since the education, it seemed relatively higher in the next sessions. Third, the changing in the level of CPITN decreased continuously as the students received the education repeatedly, but there is no significant difference in statistics for each session. Conclusions : For the oral health promotion in the high school students, the education ought to be focused on the behavior-change objectives rather than on the knowledge-based objectives. The repeated education for tooth-brushing instruction should be stressed for preventing from returning to the old bad behaviors.

  • This aims to improve match of clothes for export by offering material information about Chinese women's shape. Therefore, this categorizes the shape by where they live or how they are old and understands the tendency of spread of the shape. To categorize the subject by not size factor but form factor, data were compared and analyzed mainly with index based on measurement of the body. This selected specimen as 1,381 of Chinese women from 19 to 50 selected in random sampling in Shanghai and Beijing from 23th, June to 7th August in 2004. 1. Body shapes categorized by regional and age base are hardly different in its contents. The younger they are, the stronger the tendency of front side factors is, the older they are, the stronger the tendency of shoulder and back side factors is, so this shows that there are slight differences in degree of importance. 2. This is categorized by equal formations in regional and age base in all groups. Normal shapes record highest in the twenties and thirties, fat and skinny shapes record highest and lowest in the forties, respectively. Normal, fat and skinny show its range as respectively decreasing order in Shanghai and Beijing.

  • Mistaking normal packets for harmful traffic may not offer service in conformity with the intention of attacker with harmful traffic, because it is not easy to classify network traffic for normal service and it for DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service) attack. And in the IPv6 environment these researches on harmful traffic are weak. In this dissertation, hosts in the IPv6 environment are attacked by NETWOX and their attack traffic is monitored, then the statistical information of the traffic is obtained from MIB(Management Information Base) objects used in the IPv6. By adapting the ESM(Exponential Smoothing Method) to this information, a normal traffic boundary, i.e., a threshold is determined. Input traffic over the threshold is thought of as attack traffic.

  • Objectives : The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between salivary flow, palate recognition threshold, DMFT index and oral health influence point (OHIP-14) of the adults over 40 years old. Methods : Salivary flow and taste recognition threshold were measured in 220 adults over 40 years old from three dental clinics in Daegu from January 3 to February 4, 2012. A total of 208 questionnaires were analyzed. Results : The adults recognized the sour taste in low concentration level when the salivary flow was faster. DMFT index was low in those who recognized sweet and sour taste that affected OHIP-14. Conclusions : Tooth decaying food must be restricted because of its high acidity in the past despite the individuals' taste recognition threshold was neglected. Before the diet control, it is necessary to measure the taste threshold of the individuals. Training for improving salivary flow is very important to prevent dental caries and to preserve good taste.
