Trend Analysis of Corporate Sustainability Management Strategies of Construction Contractors in Korea (국내 건설기업의 지속가능경영 전략 트렌드 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Corporate Sustainability Management (CSM) is management approach and strategies that have grown in importance in recent years. and it is becoming increasingly important to organizations in every industry including the construction industry as well. It is important to establish and continuously manage and improve the strategies at the industrial and enterprise level and also to understand their trend. The most practical way to understand the overall sustainability management strategies and trend of construction companies is to analyze the sustainability management report of representative construction companies and to derive keywords for sustainability management, and then analyzed them using big data. The objective of the study is to analyze the trend of CSM strategies of Korean contractors in terms of key characteristics and implications by big data analysis employing keywords identified in the CSM reports of five major contractors in the Korean construction industry. Understanding the sustainable management strategy trend of construction companies has important significance in terms of being able to find out the issues that the construction industry and construction companies should focus on in order to pro-actively prepare for the future.

A Study on the Organization of System Checklist for the Realization of the Sustainable Low-carbon Long-life Housing (지속가능한 저탄소 장수명 공동주택구현을 위한 시스템 체크리스트 구성에 관한 연구)

  • To propose the evaluation criteria of substantial sustainable low-carbon long-life housing, this study subdivided an existing planning item composed of the simple enumeration type by coding system of high/middle/low classification according to the core technology, and it was subdivided by a total 203 piece item. In other words, it subdivided 4 divisions by apartment unit, building, park and equipment, and classified elemental technology and system were divided by passive/active elemental technology and system according to the design process of long-life housing. Besides that, this paper presents the restructure results of checklist with quantitative criteria that classified by the weighting factor and compatibility between law system and current planning criteria in domestic long-life housing.

  • Waste paint, one of the specified wastes in Korea, is currently treated entirely by incineration treatment method, and is hardly recycled compared to other wastes. Incineration treatment method also causes environmental problems such as air pollution. Thus, this study breaks away from the existing incineration treatment method of waste paint and switch to a method of pretreatment operation through evaporation, condensation, and thermal decomposition by temperature control. and then proposes a sustainable waste paint treatment process that can be recycled as an alternative energy heat source. If a new method of disposing of waste paint and technology for recycling are developed and disseminated, it is expected that the effect will be large from an economic and environmental point of view.

  • This project addresses the product identification and design application of corrugated products for kinetic architectural applications. Initially, an architectural approach to product identification was carried out with the end goal of demonstrating application design principles of numerous novel architectural examples from the forest products industry. A design and prototyping stage followed demonstrating such application design principles and functional analysis on various novel architectural examples. The results of coupling product identification with proven application advantages will be of potential value not only to architecture but also to other designers in the arts and sciences. The general motivation for the research arises out of a growing interest corrugated and paper products to be ideally suited for various architectural applications for their unparallel environmental benefits. Applications in architecture that use fewer resources and that adapt efficiently to complex and changing conditions are particularly relevant for an industry (architecture) that is increasingly aware of its environmental responsibilities. Corrugated and paper products are highly under-utilized by the building industry as design choice material for both interior and exterior applications. An increased awareness of the benefits of corrugated and paper products coupled with a process of designing for the total use and reuse will prove to be a valuable means by which issues of energy efficiency and environmental quality of buildings could be enhanced to be more efficient, affordable, and therefore reach a broader audience of users.

  • The emission quota of 26.9% was allocated to the architectural sector according to the greenhouse gas(GHG) emission reduction goal of the government. It has become inevitable to change the architectural structures in a low-energy consumption and sustainable manner for new and existing house. The introduction of various legal systems and deregulation have been attempted to promote the low carbon emission and sustainable energy conversion. Although overall emission reduction goal has been set for 6.7 million units of existing houses, there has been a lack of standards and directions for the emission reduction measures. This study was intended to present the most economic and effective green technology improvement measures based on the investigation into the current conditions through direct visit to the selected architectural structures and the repeated simulation of relevant technical elements.

  • The purpose of this paper is to seek the Sustainability in the Rural living considering Regional characteristics that would be referred the natural heritage in the rural areas and the different particular natural environment. In addition, based on this results, the local peoples who live in rural villages, will be possible to maintain and improve their life by their own effort continuously. Research methods are as following. At the first, The case study carried out for Japan's rural village, that how the residents would be participated of the town development and What is the motivation to participate to make their town well. and then, this paper analyzed the causing and problems the decline and developing possibilities of village targeting 'Bosanwonri' which is traditional rural village located in Kwangdukmean, Cheonansi, Korea. and in its final analysis, this paper proposed an possible alternatives which can retains the sustainable development.

  • IDF (Intensity-Duration-Frequency) 곡선에서 익숙하다시피 강우지속시간과 최대강우강도는 반비례한다. 그동안 이러한 관계를 살펴보는 것은 대개 수십 시간의 규모에 그쳤다. 이 연구에서는 과연 시계열에서 시간 규모를 계속 증가시키면서 해당 시간 동안의 최대강우강도가 어떻게 변하는지를 살펴보았다. 가능한 장기간의 강수관측이 이루어진 우리나라 24개 지점을 대상으로 시간 규모를 최장 한 세기까지 키우면서 최대강우강도의 변화를 분석하였다. 작은 시간 규모에서는 그 관계가 멱함수를 따르지만, 시간 규모가 점차 늘어나면서 최대강우강도는 설계 목적의 지속시간 범위에서 결정된 멱함수 또는 기존 IDF 곡선으로부터 외삽하기 어려워진다. 이러한 변화는 점차 정상 연강수량으로 점근하는 결과를 가져온다. 분석된 결과를 토대로 연 단위를 초과하는 지속시간에 걸친 최대강우강도의 감쇄를 적절하게 표현할 수 있는 함수식을 제시하였다.

  • This study organize the concept of sustainable development by compiling New-urbanism, sustainable urban regeneration and theory of development. And the framework of analysis about the planning characteristics of New Urbanistic Waterfront and urban development was derived by compiling theory of Waterfront and Waterfront city and considering prior study. This study will analyze the advanced cases at home and abroad through the analysis of the urban development and architectural characteristics analysis system of the New Urbanism Waterfront and Waterfront City Development by analyzing the advanced cases of the domestic and foreign countries through the analysis.

  • 태양광 채광시스템은 자연광의 유입이 어려운 공간에 주광을 유입하기 위하여 개발된 장치로써 에너지를 절약하고 인간의 쾌적성을 향상시키는 등 지속가능한 건축을 위해 도입 및 확대가 크게 기대 되는 장치이다. 이에 본 연구는 기존에 본 연구실에서 개발된 시스템의 문제점을 보완하고 개선하여 건축물 적용시의 채광성능을 평가하는데 연구목적이 있다. 본 시스템의 설치는 2004년 10월 25일 (주) 동아산전과의 공동작업으로 설치되었으며, 수원에 있는 K대학 공과대학 5층 옥상 파라펫에 설치하였다. 평가실험은 2005년 4월 5일 9시30분부터 15시30분까지 청천공 상태에서 실시하였고, 총32개의 측정점을 선정하여 주광조도비로 채광성능을 평가하였다. 실험결과, 반사거울을 설치 시 창이 있을 경우 실내의 주광조도비는 평균 20.3[%] 상승하였고 창을 제거할 경우 실내의 주광조도비는 평균 38.2[%]정도 상승하여 채광학적으로 유효한 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 본 시스템은 건축물의 실내 및 옥외의 음영진 곳에서 유용하게 사용될 수 있음이 입증되었다.
