Objective : The purpose of this study was to provide evidence for the effectiveness of Sensory Integrative Intervention (SII) through a systematic review. Method : The systematic review was executed using MEDLINE/PubMed, PsycINFO, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, OTSeeker. The key words for search was "effects of sensory integration", "sensory integration therapy", and "sensory integration intervention". 11 studies were used for data analysis, and the level of evidence were level I, leve lII and level IV. The substances of review were subject (population), method (intervention type), effect of the intervention, outcome parameter, and outcome measurement. Results : 1. The subjects of SII were autism spectrum disorders (30.7%), pervasive developmental disorder (15.4%) and preterm infants (15.4%). 2. Most frequently used method was the traditional intervention of J. Ayres (36.5%). The outcome parameters of SII were behavioral outcome (40.63%), motor performance outcome (28.13%), sensory-based outcome (25.0%), and academic outcome (6.35%). 3. The effects of SII were improvement of motor performance (66.7%), sensory-based (62.5%), and behavior problems (61.5%). In most studies, however, academic skill such as writing skill was not a positive outcome parameter in terms of effectiveness of SII. Conclusions : The results implied that the sensory integrative intervention is effective on motor performance, sensory-based and behavioral change, but not on the academic skill. It is suggested that the future research need to be done to examine whether and how the effect of sensory integration intervention can be long-lasting and contribute any academic skill and activities of daily living performance.
The purpose of this study was to meta-analyze the stress intervention program applied to patients with hemodialysis in Korea to confirm the effectiveness of the stress intervention program and to identify the characteristics and trends of the stress intervention method. A total of 10 studies were selected, and Quality Assessment tool was used MINORS and the data was analyzed using Comprehensive Meta Analysis Version 3.0 and Review manager version 5.3 The Quality Assessment score of studies was 21.2 points, and the effect size on the psychological stress was medium(g=-.72), and the effect size on cortisol of the physiological stress was also medium(g=-.52). Subgroup analysis showed that Music therapy and aromatherapy, individual providing, over 60 minutes per session and total of 10-20 times were more effectively reduced stress. Findings of this meta-analysis would be helpful for health professionals to provide more effective stress intervention program. Further randomized controlled trials of stress intervention program for patients with hemodialysis are more needed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect size of non-pharmacological intervention applied to patients with anxiety disorder and to provide information about evidence-based intervention. Twenty three studies were selected for meta-analysis through a systematic review of domestic studies. We searched journal articles published in Korea up to May, 2015 using the key words "Anxiety Disorders (MeSH)" and "Treatment or Intervention". Meta-analysis was performed using a random effects model, and the effect sizes on each of anxiety and depression were calculated. The effect size for anxiety of non-pharmacological intervention in this study was Hedges' g=1.693 (95% CI; 1.267-2.120), indicating a large effect size. The effect size for depression was Hedges's g=1.571 (95% CI; 0.481-2.661), indicating a large effect size. It is significant that this study systematically synthesized the study results for non-pharmacological intervention effects applied to patients with anxiety disorders in Korea. It also established a basis that can be applied to nursing intervention.
To investigate a variety of nonpharmacologic interventions have confirmed what the symptoms and effects, mainly interventions by acting on behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia was conducted a meta-analysis. Data were collected from online search engines using search words from domestic and foreign article database. The researcher independently and among the pre-post experimental studies published from January 2000 to June 2016, recalled applying for the elderly with dementia presents the effect of treatment group and the control group RCT in this study were included in the study. The results of this meta-analysis showed that, effect size of the nonpharmacologic interventions of total -0.33, occupational therapy - 0.26, multi-sensory stimulation intervention -0.65 was significant beneficial effects to elderly with dementia(p<.05). According to interventions as a major affected the symptoms associated with behavioral problems, mainly aggression, memory-related problem behavior in the home-based program. Also, reminiscence therapy and occupational therapy is generally apathy, multi-sensory stimulation and music therapy was confirmed that there was a major change in behavior anxiety or agitation. The results of this study confirmed that various nonpharmacologic interventions were effective on behavioral psychological symptoms of dementia patients and confirmed the main symptoms of intervention.

Objectives: This study aimed to verify the effectiveness of Internet-based intervention programs for adults with diabetes by conducting a meta-analysis of studies conducted since 2000. Methods: We conducted a systematic review of research papers published in domestic and overseas journals from January 2000 to December 2015, and selected 9 papers that met the analysis criteria. Data analysis was performed using the open source statistical software R 3.5.0, to analyze the effectiveness of Internet-based interventions on experimental and control groups. Results: The analysis showed that intervention programs for controlling HbA1c levels in adult patients with diabetes most commonly comprised 7 sessions on Internet-based management (77.8%), and the most common frequency of application of intervention programs was 4 session in 6 months (33.4%). The present meta-analysis revealed statistically significant effects of Internet-based intervention activities (SMD = 0.92, 95% CI 0.45-1.40). The analysis of the effect size according to the intervention period showed that the 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month interventions reported in eight studies (89%) had a high effect on the Internet-based intervention group. Conclusions: The results of this study confirm the effectiveness of Internet-based intervention programs for adult patients with diabetes. The need for research on the utilization of Internet-based intervention programs for the steady management of diabetes, a chronic disease; for the development of specific guidelines for intervention activities; and for establishing appropriate protocols are acknowledged.

Objective : In this study, we aimed to investigate the effectiveness of family-centered intervention conducted with caregivers of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in South Korea through a systematic literature review. Methods : Previous studies published from 2011 to 2021 were searched through RISS, KISS, and DBpia. The search terms applied included "autism spectrum" OR "general developmental disorder" OR "high-functioning autism" OR "Asperger's" AND "parent education" OR "family-centered intervention" OR "parent coaching" OR "parent training" OR "family participation." A total of 11 experimental studies were chosen based on the selection criteria. Results : According to the findings on the general characteristics of the study participants, intervention strategies, and effects of the intervention, it was observed that the majority of children with ASD who participated in the study were preschool-aged, and the majority of participating caregivers were mothers. The effects of family-centered interventions were evident in both children and parents. In children, the most significant effects were observed in interaction and communication skills. In parents, a reduction in parenting stress and an improvement in parenting efficacy were observed. The intervention strategies employed in the study varied, with sensory integration intervention, responsive communication, and interaction-centered intervention being the most commonly used, followed by developmental-centered intervention, positive behavior support (PBS), and parent-mediated intervention based on pivotal response treatment (PRT). Conclusion : The results of this study are significant in that they confirm that family-centered intervention is effective not only in improving the functioning of children with autism spectrum disorder, but also in reducing parenting stress and enhancing parenting efficacy, and provide evidence for clinical use.
This research was a review and analysis of published articles and theses in Korea on Intervention Programs for patients with Diabetes Mellitus. This study was conducted to provide for the development of psychological interventions through meta-analysis of the effects of psychological intervention for pain reduction in patients with osteoarthritis. R version 3.5.1 program was used to identify the effectiveness of psychological mediating by December 30, 2018, while the Korean and foreign literature published by PubMed, EMBASE, Ovid-MEDLINE, CINAHL, and Korean databases were searched. As a result, 12 studies with a total of 1,847 participants were analyzed in a total of 1,822 literature. The results showed that the overall effect size of psychological intervention for pain reduction in osteoarthritis patients was small effect -0.31(95% CI: -0.50, -0.11, p<.001). In the moderator analysis, the effect size showed a significant difference depending on the intervention type, intervention duration and the intervention provider. The funnel plot analysis was used to analyze the publication bias, and it was visually asymmetric but not asymmetric after the egger's regression test (bias = -3.24, p = .077). The results of this study suggest a standard of efficacy for psychological interventions to improve pain symptoms, which is a major symptom of osteoarthritis, although the number of studies included in the meta-analysis is low and has provided a clinical basis during intervention and intervention providers.
The purpose of this study is to provide evidences throught integrative review of non-pharmacological intervention studies for constipation in the elderly in Korea. Through the domestic search engines RISS and KISS, eleven studies were selected by searching for theses and academic journals published in Korea from 2010 to January 2023. According to the study result, relevant studies were 11, and non-pharmacological interventions included abdominal massage, foot massage, acupressure, moxibustion, lifestyle intervention, carbonated water intake, and complex therapy. Constipation, sleep quality, and depression were confirmed as effects of the intervention. However, there is no study confirming the quality of life related to constipation in the elderly, so it is necessary to develop and apply a non-pharmacological intervention program for constipation considering the quality of life of the elderly.
