  • This is a study on the dualism of gender through the costume in the Middle Age. Jeanne d'Arc was an existential person in the Hundred Year's war(1338-1453). She persisted in retaining male attire and armour at her own request. One of the points for which she had been condemned was the wearing of male apparel. It was judged as an evil spirit and rendered Jeanne a witch and a heretic therefore she was burned to death in the market place at Rouen, on the 30th May, 1431. It is one of the evidence which represent dualism of gender through the costume.

  • 인의식 건축사와 가깝게 지내게 된 것은 몇 년이 안 된다. 매사에 열심이고, 이번 원고청탁도 나에게 나타나는 것이 부끄럽다고 극구 사양하는 것을 겨우 인터뷰하였다. 지금은 건축경기가 극히 불투명하여 예전에 설계 좀 한다고 이름이 나 있는 건축사들에게도 힘든 시간이다. 인의식 건축사의 겨우 건축설계에 올인 하는 것은 물론 인테리어, 조경, 조명 등 전문영역으로 치부하여 남에게 외주 주어 버리는 것을 본인이 다하려고 죽을 힘을 다한다. 단순히 경제적으로만 볼 것이 아니라 토탈 디자인 개념에서 그러는 것이다. 부수적으로 경제적인 이득도 있을 것이다 중세시대의 거장들이 미술, 조각, 건축까지 망라하여 관여한 것을 생각하면 실은 아무것도 아니다. 이런 장인정신이 오늘 그가 불경기에도 오뚝이 같이 잘 버텨나가는 증좌다. 그리고 그의 대표작인 된 '덕평휴게소'에 가면 그의 노력이 잘 드러나 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 구조물이 과도한 기진력을 받을 때에 구조물의 진동 제어를 위하여 제안 되어진 여러 가지 포화 제어 알고리듬들의 유용성을 실제적인 관점에서 살펴보았다 제안된 포화 제어 알고리듬 중세서 수정된 뱅뱅 제어 알고리듬이 매우 유용한 것임을 확인할 수 있었으나 이는 제어력 파형 결정 파라미터의 어떤 범위내에서만 효과적이며 그 범위를 넘어서는 경우에 있어서는 제어기를 불안정하게 할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다 따라서 수정된 뱅뱅 제어 알고리듬의 적용시에 과도한 외부 기진력에 대하여 제어기의 안정적인 작동에 의한 구조물의 진동제어효과를 얻기 위해서 제어력 파형 파라미터를 과도 기진력의 크기에 따라 변화시키는 적응형의 방법을 제안하였고 이의 유용성을 수치실험 및 유압식 질량 감쇠기를 장착한 축소 구조물 검증 실험을 통하여 확인하였다.

  • The attempt to find the origin of Post-modern aesthetics from the Middle Ages is easy to perceive the thinking system of contemporary design. The Middle Ages showed that things and God's relation were symbolized all things were connected with analogical ideas as mysticism(alchemy, gnosticism), and God's world was represented with the metaphor. While the hybrid style of Post-modern architecture expressed that the rationalism was opposed to Ideology, partly, the idea of irrational with mysterious, also unscientific with analogical discourse . And the Symbolism of Post-Modern Design is means of popular Communication. Exactly, the common feature of ideology with pre-rationalism and anti-rationalism are against the dominated ideology in present. In conclusion, the relation of significancy effect In Chaos and In composition can be considered inspirational source historically.

  • The historical consciousness of furniture is one of the crucial elements that become the medium for initiating design. Also, it is an important task of the science to figure out the headstream of furniture being used these days. From this purpose, this study intends to understand the bureau that has not been studied much in terms of the headstream and changes based on historical facts centering around England, France, or America regarding the forms or terms. These points are expected to be used as the foundational research data to develop the science and products.

  • The purpose of this paper is to reinterpret and visualize the trisection line construction of general angle in the Medieval Islam using conic sections. The geometry field in the current 2015 revised Mathematics curriculum deals mainly with the more contents of analytic geometry than logic geometry. This study investigated four trisecting problems shown by al-Haytham, Abu'l Jud, Al-Sijzī and Abū Sahl al-Kūhī in Medieval Islam as one of methods to achieve the harmony of analytic and logic geometry. In particular, we studied the above results by 3 steps(analysis, construction and proof) in order to reinterpret and visualize.

"Chaucer the Father," Rhetoric of the Nation ("아버지 초서," 민족국가의 수사)

  • The primary purpose of the present essay is to survey the relationship between Chaucer's fatherhood and English nationalism. Chaucer as a nationalist poet with essential Englishness is a product of the pre-modern nationalist project initiated between the late thirteenth century and early fourteenth century. In this period, as Turville-Petre regards, the English nationalist identity started to rise in language and literature. Thus this essay surveys the pre-modern nationalist discourse before Chaucer and how it influenced Chaucer to spawn his own nationalist discourse. The latter half of this project, as a reception study, surveys the nationalist receptions of Chaucer in the nineteenth century, when the connection between Chaucer studies and jingoistic nationalism was highly circumstantial. In terms of Chaucer's reception, the nineteenth-century was a crucial period: during this period the nationalist discourse and Chaucer studies firmly combined and Chaucer was envisaged as a boastful nationalist poet. The essay's discussion generally revolves around Chaucer's fatherhood and his exclusive Englishness; "Chaucer the father" is nationalist rhetoric which mediates thirteenth century post-colonialism and nineteenth-century colonialism.

Development of Digital Games Based on Historical Material and its Design Components - With History Based Games of 5 Countries (역사소재 기반 디지털게임의 발전과정 및 기획요소 연구 - 동.서양 5개국의 역사소재 게임을 중심으로)

  • When culture took large part in industrial area, every country has tried to utilize own cultural contents for educational or commercial purpose and the various cultures and histories are recognized as a main concept or subject so that a number of scholars who study history increase. In video game field, special characteristics of interface that audiences participate in the game to complete story-telling is considered as efficient material for learning process. As observed above, it is important to analyze the games that every country makes and export to the world in which the video games is understood as a play of human in general. This Paper has firstly analyzed the most favorite historical games developed in Korea, the USA, Japan, Taiwan and Germany from 1980 to 2005 and secondly, compared that wars and historical origin appears in game scenario, a world view and background story and finally after point out the preferable era and genre of the countries then propose the promising way of design for historical video games. In the process of analysis of a view and heroes in historical games, we compared the real persons, the real historical events and novel in which 11.8% only employed the real persons in 8 out of 68 games. Also the real history and background story are appeared in 37 games which is 54.4% of them. We discovered that the main material that is popular for each country is the historical backing rather than real persons where the favorite historical background is chosen at which they are proud of; 3-Throne era with strong ancient Gogurye for Korea, the 1st and 2nd World Wars and the Independence War for the USA, the tide of war around Middle age for Japan, ancient history of Europe for Germany. The favorite age for video games is Ancient times with 37 games for 54.4%, Middle Age with 7 games fer 10.3%, the prehistoric age with 5 games for 7.35%, remote age with 1 for 1.47%, while current historical games favor Ancient or Modern Age.

The Aspects of "Children" in Saseolsijo and its Historical Implication in Korean Classical Poetry (사설시조에 나타난 '아이'의 양상과 그 시가사적 함의)

  • The purpose of this study is to reveal the aspects of "Children" in Saseolsijo and its historical implication in Korean Classical Poetry. What was discussed can be summarized as follows: There are two types of children in Saseolsijo, one is silent, and the other is speaking. The silent child characteristics are such as being called and addressed by the poetic narrator, customary audience, passive attitude, etc. The speaking child characteristics are speaking subject, active attitude as sign of modernity. These phenomenon simply expose the differences of aesthetic order. The silent children is mainly to be utilized as a device to maximize the lyricism of the text as an ideologically product by the inner request of the poetic narrator and show identification discourse. The speaking child, gives the dynamics in text by heterogeneous discourse and informs aesthetic distance between "the reader and the text" as well and show distance discourse. These fragments from Saseolsijo's children are also found in previous genres. In the case of Hyangga, 'children' speak for solving others' desire but are targeted by poetic narrator as well. In the case of Goryosokyo, 'children' show activity and efforts to break forced silence by the poetic narrator through voluntary speaking. In Sijo's case, unlike other genres, some literary works show contents about disciplining children and the growth of children. However mostly targeted children by the poetic narrator are predominantly appeared from the discourse perspective. These aspects of children in previous genres including some of works in Saseolsijo are mainly associated with the appearance of medieval children. Unlike these, the new aspects of Saseolsijo's children show the cross-section of the signs of transition contemporary, from medieval to modern. Even if there are few literary works in these, speaking children with activity reveals novelty over medieval-imposed 'child-ness' by showing 'self', 'individual desire' strongly. This novelty is far from infants of the modern concept as naive and innocent children but these children are noted in that they show a part of modernity through various voices in the text, the comic(laughter), multiple point views, etc.
